Gasoline - Hyundai - Elantra - Transmissions - Clutches :: 2002 - Losing Power When Climbing Hills

Our 2002 Hyundai Elantra is having issues. It shifts fine, no need to double-clutch. It stays in gear. Doesn't grind or anything crazy like that. It does seem like it isn't getting power to the drivetrain, and is having trouble climbing hills. This all came on very suddenly. Hubby thinks it's the clutch -- I think it may be the bushings. Though now, I'm wondering if it's something else? Since it's not having trouble shifting, should we be looking at the fuel system? Sensors? Engine seals?

Toyota - Rough - Gasoline - Camry - Fans - Clutches :: 1992 - Burning Gas / Losing Power / Excessive Smoke

I have a 1992 Toyota Camry. It had been burning gas, losing powere, white smoke smoking excessively through the tailpipe, and idling extremely rough, sometimes to the point of dying. It ran ok at highway speeds, but terrible everywhere else. We figured that it was getting moisture into the engine. We essentially did an upper engine overhaul, replacing gaskets and parts as necessary. It ran fine after this, and then three weeks later, started having the same symptoms. I found gas in the oil, changed oil, which turned it to run smoother, but still smoked and died at idle. I found out the clutch fan barely blows. I can't afford to get an actual mechanic involved, but I don't know where to look next.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Tire Losing Pressure

Long story short, I have a tire that is losing pressure. In two months it went from 30PSI to 10PSI. I caught the tire right before my trip to Vegas and filled it back up to 32PSI and today it was at 25PSI for a total of 22 days. I figure I am losing around .3PSI a day. Took it into Sams where I bought them and of course they couldn't find a thing wrong with them. Sprayed them with soap and water and dunked them in a trough but no bubbles. They weren't going to do anything, but I talked them into putting a new valve stem on and at least taking the tire off the rim and taking a look. I realize it could be a dynamic problem where it only leaks while the tire is rotating. Is there anything else that I'm not thinking about verses having a leaky rim?

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Engine Won't Detach From Manual Tranny

I'm trying to remove the engine out of my 2001 Santa Fe, 4 cyl, manual tranny. Removal is to be done by lifting the engine upwards with a hoist, as I have seen in other postings. Already removed cylinder head and all of the peripherals and removed all engine-to-tranny bolts and the passenger side engine mount. However, the engine will not detach from the tranny. I does pry out to where I can see the teeth of the flywheel, but "springs" back into place when the prying ceases. I rotated the flywheel a full revolution in order to look for bolts through the inspection window at the bottom, but I see no bolts. It feels as if the splined shaft is seized against the clutch or something.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Sputtering / Losing Power At Idle

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L for about a month has been sputtering/losing power when I come to a stop but keep it in gear. You can see the gauge drop when it sputter. Runs fine if I put it in park at the stop lights which I do because I feel as if may shut off (never has shut off). Replaced the crankshaft sensor and it had no effect. I so notice the same sputter when driving sometimes.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: 2004 - Sputtering And Losing Power

My 2004 Santa Fe (4cyl) started sputtering and losing power, like it was about to stall out, then all of a sudden it'll regain power and drives fine. When the stuttering happens the check engine light comes on, but then when it regains power, the check engine light goes out. This seems to happen at highway speeds because I can't seem to recreate the issue driving around the neighborhood. I also can't scan for codes because I cannot get the CE light to come on (when I want it to). About 2 years ago I took it to the dealership for similar symptoms, with my car eventually stalling completely out and I couldn't get it to start back up. The problem then was crank shaft position sensor, which I had replaced.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: 2004 V6 Losing Power When Travel Up An Incline

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L V6. I am experiencing an issue of losing power as I travel up an incline and it doesn't matter how much I depress the gas pedal. The codes that I am receiving are P0101, P0174, and P0171. After reviewing the codes and doing some research I'm thinking it is either the mass air flow sensor or the fuel pump, which can tend to fail in vehicles 10 yrs or older depending on vehicle mate Nance (i.e. constantly running the tank down to almost empty).

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Tranny Slipping - Power Loss When Going Uphill And Has To Downshift

I just recently bought an 06 Santa Fe with a 2.7l v6. It was a rebuild. It had been hit in the left wheel. The lot put a new fender, suspension parts, axle, etc. It only has 25k actual miles.

We took it on a 100 mile trip today. I noticed if I am going up hill and it has to downshift, it feels like it looses power. The car continues to slow... Like the tranny is slipping. I stopped at Walmart and found the tranny fluid wouldn't even register on the dipstick. I bought Valvoline max life tranny fluid that matches the sp3 specs in the manual. I had to add almost 3 quarts before it was full. I think they may have forgot to add fluid back to replace what leaked out after they replaced the axle It didn't seem to work though when I continued to drive. After I stopped and let it cool about 30 minutes, it did seem a little better.

I guess my question is should I replace the tranny fluid? If so, what should I replace it with? Is there anything else what could be causing this now?

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Losing Power And Hesitant - Idles At 1500 To 2000 Rpm

I have an 02 Santa Fe with the 2.7, 4x4. This started a few weeks ago. When it is first started, it cranks over for a few then starts, idles 1500-2000 rpm. It is a little hesitant at first, but will eventually run fine. If I go to the store after it is warmed up, shut it off, then go back to start it again after shopping, it does the cranking over for a few, and when it starts, you can smell gas (strong smell). when you go to take off, it hesitates real bad, backfire rumble through the exhaust, has no power, bucks, and you have to feather the throttle to keep it running. If you put your foot to the floor, it does nothing, 20 mph if your lucky. if you can keep it running long enough without it stalling, which it has done, and hit the highway, and get going, it will eventually work itself out and run ok again. There is NO CEL. It is getting worse.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Noise While Turning Sharp In Both Directions - Tranny Fluid Leaking

Noise started a day earlier, drove slow and listened to the noise while turning sharp in both directions. Was noisy at full turns and mostly quiet going straight. At higher speeds a slight wine could be heard.

It was a clunking, grinding noise with a little steering bind and pulling. I assumed it was cv joints but but after jacking up the front end to inspect, I have tranny fluid leaking from between transfer case and tranny.

Last thing I expected was tranny, It shifts fine and just started leaking, NOW what am I facing.

Cabrio - Clutches :: 2001 - Click Clack Sounds While Reversing?

We just got a used 2001 VW Cabrio through a private sale and are unfortunately encountering the first issues a few days after.

It has a manual transmission.

When reversing, the car makes a clack clack sound. The clack clack sound is faster if the car reverses faster. The sound is loud when reversing with the the clutch pedal up.The sound faints, but still exists with the clutch pedal down. The sound disappears when the clutch stick is disengaged from a gear, even though the car keeps rolling backwards.

We know from the receipts, that the car had clutch work done in April.

Before hitting up mechanics, we are trying to find out if this is merely a clutch issue or if this could likely be the entire transmission, or whether we are totally off and its something else entirely.

Toyota - Corolla - Clutches :: 2001 - Hard Time Picking Up Speed

I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla 5 speed manual that is having a hard time picking up speed, but the engine will rev as high as your willing to push down the pedal. The engine runs well its just not affecting the speed of the car very quickly. We replaced the MAF sensor recently and it made little to no difference.

Brakes - Chevrolet - Blazer - Clutches :: 2001 - Push Clutch Hard Almost Through The Floor To Start The Car

I recently purchased a used 2001 Chevy Blazer with a manual transmission. In order to start it, I have to push very hard on the clutch, almost through the floor. Is there some type of adjustment to make starting a little easier? Also, when I push on the parking brake, it also goes right to the floor and seems like it barely engages.

Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Tranny Lagging In Particular When Shifting From 1st To 2nd Gear

I have a 2014 2.0T AWD Limited, now it's about 9000 kms so far with regular maintenance at dealer. Recently I have found the tranny is shifting a bit lagging, in particular shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I didn't think it was like this when it was new, not sure if it's something wrong, or now I'm getting more used to the shifting and start complaining.

Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Tranny Slipping In 1st Gear At Around 3k RPMs

So dont know whats going on, but after my santa fe sat for a day, I went to go for a drive and when I left the house, the tranny slipped in 1st gear at around 3k rpms. The rpms just shot up, hammered into 2nd, then drove off as normal.

I couldn't get it to repeat it after that.

Facts:
-Car in eco mode
-Car sat for at least 24 hours
-Outside temp 70F
-slippage happened on takeoff at 3k rpm
-No CEL's
-around 11500 miles

What it could be? Should i take it in to hyundai? OR wait and see how it drives the next couple days.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2001 1.6L Manual Tranny Just Went Out

I have also owned a 2001 hyundai accent for almost 6 years now. This is the vehicle I drive to and from work. Today I was pulling off the on ramp onto the interstate and when I shifted to fifth-year it took for a few seconds and then all of a sudden I had absolutely no pull in 5th gear. There was a small pop sound but I can't be too sure exactly what it sounded like. And there is a really bad rattle from the tranny whenever the car is running 2000 RPM in fifth gear any higher than that then there's no noise at all and no pull. The RPMs just go up as if you're revving the car in neutral. I just wanted to know if that pretty much tells me that fifth gear is gone and I need to replace the transmission or have it rebuilt.

My other question is I've been looking up on the Internet to find a replacement transmission and so far I found out that for the 1.6 L if my car was made after March 8, 2001 that it requires a different transmission. But my car was built in September 2000 and I was wondering if the manual transmission was the same on the 1.5 L and the 1.6 L.

Elantra XD (2001-06) :: 2002 - Bubbles In Tranny Fluid

I just got done replacing the passenger side half shaft axle on my 02' Elantra. I didn't have any fluid leak out when I removed the old axle(watched a few YouTube videos and everyone had fluid leak the minute the old one came out) but I think that may be because of the angle of my driveway and the car by jacked up pretty good.

Went I got done I checked all my fluids while I was at it. All of a sudden when I pulled the dipstick out for the transmission fluid, it was covered in air bubbles. I drove it around for 3 hours this morning delivering newspapers with no issues, checked the fluid again, there is still a few bubbles but not many.

Was just wondering if this would be a cause for concern? or is it probably just a bunch of air that got pushed in when I put the new axle in?
