Passat (B5) :: Rear Tires Starting To Flare Out A Little Bit
My car has been dropped 2 inches with 19's. The rear tires are starting to flare out a little bit. I am in need of a camber kit and I CANT FIND ONE ANYWHERE for a 2003 passat 1.8 T .

So when the car is idling(warmed up) I suddenly have a random popping noise coming from the front passenger side of the car. It is about 9 pops evenly spaced about every 1/2 second and then it stops. This is all while not moving....Like when sitting at a light. Then about 5 minutes later it will do it again. It seems its becoming more & more frequent.

When filling up with gas, I can only get a couple gallons put in the tank before the nozzle kicks off from the pump. As I get closer to filling up the tank it kicks off more frequently. The way I equalize the gas tank while filling up so that I can add more gas is to move the gasoline nozzle in and out a couple times and i can see a little bit of gas squirt out while the pressure inside is adjusting.
I don't think anyone was able to put something into my tank to plug it up. There is a little hole directly under where the gas cap screws onto that has a rubber opening, I'm wondering if maybe some dirt got into that and plugged it assuming that hole has something to do with making sure the pressure equalizes, but I don't know.

I have a 2005 B6 TDi 2.0 sports 140bhp passat and have encountered a glow plug lamp problem. The light came on while i was driving and the car seemed to lose power. We then switched it off and restarted and it was fine but then the problem recurred a few days later. The light has come on both times when i have accelerated on the motorway. What it could be?

I have a 2007 Passat 2.0T with 5000 miles. I love the car, handling, comfort, power, refinement and all related but had a big shock when I went to the VW dealer for 5000 mile check. The service tech said my car had a optional computer software upgrade to regulate the intake valve (mostly to keep it from sticking open). I thought it was fine to do the upgrade EXCEPT when he said that if I did the upgrade , I would lose the gear indicator lights on the center dash between the speedo and tach! .....so, I would no longer have visual indication of Park, reverse etc....or indication of 1,2,3,4,5,6 for the tiptronic tranny mode. Why or if you have been able to do the software upgrade for the intake valve, WITHOUT losing the the indicator lights on the dash?

So it's dark out and very cold so I have done nothing yet to see if it is easy. However my '03 3.5 acts as if the rear brakes are stuck or the "E" brake is stuck. Put the car in in drive or reverse and you can feel the grab. Same thing in Neutral. Not sure what is really going on. Will get it jacked up in the morning.

Camry :: Thud Sound When Rear Tires Run Over A Bump
I am getting a thud sound when the rear tires run over a bump no matter big or small. I removed the tire jack and it is still there. Could the sound be coming the rear struts or maybe the sway bar bushings? It seems to have gotten worse the last several months.

I had a 03 trailblazer ltz; last week while driving low speed ( 30 hm-50 km ) ,the rear tires had locked,and sliding,but the engine didn't stop and steering wheel didn't lock.I restarted the engine but the transmission at D , it didn't work. When the transmission changed at R ,and after that at D i can drive it. Nowadays i'm hearing noise from left rear tires like turning shaft. Is it possible to being after jump from speed bump ?? Because i passed it fast and jumped. After that, the sounds began.( i think it's like a rolling sth. ). I used the car about 2 weeks after that and never used about two weeks. Now i can drive it ,but sounds always there.last time i drived it on flat road,no brake and sounds came like squeezing sth. And the transmission no longer to be useful,but the car can still in idle ,it never stopped the engine and never give me an alert.
While slow down, I changed transmission to park,and changed to reverse.so ,i can drive it,but sound always there.there are no oil under the car.after first time the dealer said '' your problem is parking brake shoe ''. Because parking brake shoe come away from it's location. He corrected,but sounds still there. After 2 days, it made it second time. So it is on park now ....
Tucson :: 2006 - Shaking / Wobbling Rear Tires?
My 2006 Tucson runs great 99% of the time. Every once in a while though, the rear of the suv shakes as if a tire is about to fall off. It lasts for a few minutes and then is gone until the next episode. I have had the tires and wheels checked and they are fine. The only other issue with the vehicle is a rattle from the rear when going over bumps....as if there is something loose by the spare tire (but there is not). I was told that the bushings needed to be replaced, but that would cause the rattle noise only, not the issue with the shaking. There is no problem with the front end or steering wheel shaking at all, it definitely is from the rear only.

I'm trying to figure out why I am having problems with my read tires wearing fast. I knew my car was out of alignment and took it to a shop and they told me I have -1.05 negative toe and bad camber.
Can some shims fix my issue or would I be better with a whole new rear beam. As far as I know the car has never been lowered, but how would I be able to tell?

About a week ago I had my car on a hoist getting new exhaust tips installed. At that time I noticed the rear tires are wearing prematurely on the inner edges. So are the fronts but not nearly as bad as the rears. I asked around and was told that this is normal for the factory Pirellis because of the negative camber built in to our cars. This being the reason the car corners so well. I understand the physics of this and I really like the way the car corners. My question is this---Can the negative camber be taken out of the car thusly reducing wear on the inner edges of the tires?? And how much will this be noticed while driving the car normally, and during spirited driving?? I have noticed that some fellows will purposely mod their cars with increased negative camber on the rear wheels, I'm assuming this is to achieve a certain "look".
