Golf VI R :: Clutch Clicking While Shifting Between 1st, 2nd And 3rd Gear

Last couple morning here in Michigan we've seen temps in the low to mid 30's. The last two mornings when I shift between 1, 2 & 3 I'm hearing a clicking noise coming from the clutch when engaging the gear. After a few minutes, once it warms up, the clicking goes away.

I am @ stage 1+ W/VWR intake, but I'm not expecting clutch troubles from that.

Golf/GTI VI :: Shifting A Little After Redline - Clutch Slipping

I know some of us drag race our cars from time to time. I have a fair bit of bolt ons and I was just wondering what I would run so I had her out 3x yesterday. Impressed with my trap speed of almost 100mph on an 85-degree day w a stock intercooler but not my times, so much so that I don't even want to say them.

I was shifting a little after redline as quick as possible and leaving at like 3000-4000 rpm.

Is my clutch slipping or where am I going wrong?

the suspension is mostly stock as are mounts. I am sure I will get better with practice but this was a really sticky track so I really cant blame my tires

Golf IV R32 :: After Installation Of Clutch Rattles Harshly - Won't Shifting

So I have a issue at hand with a clutch I purchased and fly wheel. I bought a Spec Stg 2+ kit and fidanza lw flywheel. As soon as I installed it the rattle seemed a little harsh and would change noise levels every time I would engage and disengage it. Then the shifting became a issue about 1000 miles in not being able to get it into gear (thats what she said) the clutch felt spongy and not solid. So I just recently pulled it out (real men dont pull out). Everything looked fine...odd.

SO I contacted Spec and they told me after inspecting the pictures that the self adjusting pressure plate was mis-adjusted and stuck and needed to be put into a vice to release the springs to put it back to normal. Hence why I had bad shifting eventually etc. Had less than 10,000 miles on the set up...fml. Spec has been extremely useful but I do not have the funds to buy another clutch from them. So im debating on putting it back into my car after resetting the pressure plate or just getting another clutch kit from a different company. I was also told to just go back to the stock clutch and pressure plate with the fidanza flywheel

Golf/GTI VI :: Grinding Fell In Clutch Pedal When Up Shifting At Higher RPMs Like 4k

I have about 350 miles on my new jetta and i will like to know if its just me or did everyone with a manual go through the same, i feel that up shifting at higher rpms like 4k i feel like the clutch is grinding i actually feel it in the pedal, I haven't gone higher than 4k due to break in period. I also notice that there is no engage while getting out of first almost like its slipping but it is not, i have driven manual most of my life so i know i am not slipping the clutch.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2003 - While Shifting Making Grinding Noise - Clutch Or Engine?

noticing a few issues with my 2003 jetta 2.0 when driving/shifting....so first main thing I noticed is when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear often times it will make a grinding sound and not shift smoothly from 1st to 2nd....you have to do it real slow/gingerly ...if I short shift from neutral to 2nd its fine or if down shifting to 2nd its fine...I have changed the gear oil...other sounds idk if its my tranny or engine but if going up hill and you throw into 3rd and not going fast enough its makes a rattling sound and is sluggish I know its a old car 177,000 miles so idk just curious if this is a sign of problems?....Last thing after driving and getting home and putting into reverse gear to park it makes a noise like a chugging sound when reversing and can be finicky going into reverse.

Golf IV R32 :: Hard To Get In Reverse And Shifting From 1st To 2nd Is Very Rough

Lately my R is acting up, sometimes hard to get in reverse and shifting from 1st to 2nd is very rough. I looked at the cables , the left one towards the engine , the rubber bushings seems to be broken, lots of wiggle in there, is that enough to cause this? Is there any adjustments needed on the cables anyways?

Golf/GTI VI :: Big Jolt When Engine Fires - Rough Shifting

I have a 2010 euro spec GTI DSG with 140.000 km (86.000 miles)

The problems i have..

- Rough vibrations.
- The car starts quick but there is big jolt when the engine fires, shifts or turns of.

What has been done to the car

**New mechatronic 30.000 km ago (replaced with new revision on warranty)
** Oil , filter , plugs
** Carbon cleaning by myself yesterday
** DSG calibration done
** No errors codes

I am thinking its mounts to the engine or transmission? Other things I am thinking of ...

- Coils packs?
- PCV?
- MAF?

The car is little low on power as it struggle on uphills on low speed, but much better after carbon cleaning.

So I have a 2001 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition, love the car. So here's my problem, whenever I am driving for more then 20-30 minutes my shifting between gears begins to become more and more rough, like whenever I shift from 2nd to 3rd, it directs me to first gear instead of 3rd and I have to kinda force it into 3rd. Golf/GTI VI :: Extremely Rough Idle And Engine Stall With Clutch Depressed

This morning when I started my car the RPMs were all over the place. The engine would rev to just below 2k and then drop, as it it were gonna die and right before it did, it would rev back up. Then, when I tried to move it, it would not accelerate and would hardly move and while coasting it dies if the clutch is depressed. The car does not die when idling (albeit a very rough idle) but it does when it is moving.

It flashed a check engine for a few seconds at one point but went away and has not come back on. I am running APR Stg 1 and a Carbonio intake. I switched from 93 octane mode to stock and nothing changed.

Honda - Accord :: 1999 - Clutch Pedal Vibrates After Shifting

Had my original clutch replaced by mechanic. Had 200K on it. Car clutch petal vibrates badly when bringing clutch pedal out after shifting. Mechanic states it has to do with motor mounts that were affected when changing clutch or the clutch takes time to seal and stop vibrating in the next 500 miles. I have warranty for 12 months and 12,000 miles. Which I had no problem of vibration before having clutch replaced? What is the problem and how to proceed.

Ford - Ranger :: 2002 - No Clutch Pedal Or Shifting Hard

When I bought my ranger used, the clutch felt ok. But as a couple weeks had passed, it started to get hard to shift. The clutch doesn't slip at all so a friend of mine said there might be air in the system.

I would pump the clutch pedal a few times and then it would shift ok for a while, then back to shifting hard. I found the bleeder and had my son assist me with bleeding the system. Everything was fine at first but I made a big mistake and now i have no pedal feel at all.

My mistake was i didn't realize what I thought was the reservoir was not the actual reservoir. There was a black rubber thing in the reservoir that I filled with fluid. My mistake was I needed to take out this black rubber thing.

So now i am stuck with no pedal and don't know what to do. When I pulled out the black rubber thing, the reservoir was empty so i filled it and it bubbled for a second and then stopped. Tried pedal at this point and there is no feel at all. It just goes to floor with no effort.

Just got a 98 f150 yesterday and I noticed last night when I went to shift into reverse, with the clutch all the way to the floor as I tried pulling the shifter back, it sounded like the clutch wasn't engaged at all. Shifting from all the other gears works just fine. Ive found that If the truck is off and I start it in reverse it works just fine.

Ford - Focus :: 2007 - Clutch Is Stiff / Shifting In General Felt Off

This morning I tried to put my car into reverse and I literally had to force it. It didn't grind or anything, no funny sounds that I have heard, just didn't want to go. It also felt like shifting was kind of "stiff" or tight... The car has 76K on it and I've never replaced the clutch, so it might just be due, but it kind of happened out of the blue. After the first incident of the reverse not cooperating, I didn't have any problems for the rest of the day, but shifting in general still kinda felt off... A coworker said that basically means I'll need a new clutch within a few weeks.

Is it just time for a new clutch? Or is there something I can do? And, so I don't get taken for everything, how to present this problem to my mechanic? I trust them, but I want to be as informed as possible when I go in to talk to them.

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: Resistance When Shifting Into 2nd Gear Despite Clutch Being Fully Depressed

I bought a 2010 Elantra Blue in November. It has 1200 miles on it now, but as early as the 2nd week or so I became aware that there is occasionally resistance shifting into 2nd gear despite the clutch being fully depressed. It can also make a slight "crunching" noise after passing through the neutral position and fully into 2nd (though this sound is distinct from grinding, it's not the same as if you were grinding the gears). I've tried a million times to narrow down the cause (i.e. cold weather, low RPM shifting, high RPM shifting, slow shifting, fast shifting, gentle shifting, strong shifting) but every time I think I got it, and have corrected it, it happens again anyways.

Ford - Ranger :: Clutch Pedal Feels Normal But No Resistance When Shifting Gears

I have a 5-speed transmission pickup (’04 Ford Ranger EDGE SuperCab). Clutch pedal feels "normal", No resistance when shifting gears. Will go into gear with ease, except for 2nd gear (grinding noise), must push clutch to the floor and still grinds; but only 2nd gear. In 1st gear, my truck will slowly creep forward as if unable to engage and not having any kind of pulling power. Even when shifting to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gears, it barely maxes out at 30MPH (top speed unless vehicle is on a slope or slight decline then I can get up to and over 40MPH. Checked brake fluid level, it’s ok. The fluid’s at max. Clutch is relatively new (April 2014), with only about 13,000 miles on it, if that. It must be cylinder issue. Is there any way to tell whether it's the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder?

I just purchased a 2002 2 door manual Echo. Car has 70K miles. I noticed that there isnt much travel for the clutch pedal (at least compared to my SX4), I have to push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor to get it to engage and it seems pretty stiff shifting between gears. Is this normal for this car? Only my second Toyota owned and the first was an auto trans.

Well I just bought my first car about 3 weeks ago, its been in the shop for 2 of those weeks after I discovered that I needed several repairs. The car cost 3300. Anyways I got screwed by the sketchy guy who sold me the car. To get back to the point, the car had transmission problems and did not make a puff noise before the repairs. It creates this sound sometimes on acceleration, slowing, shifting, and pushing in the clutch. It has almost a 100% chance of making this puff when starting the car up. Civic - Honda :: Brand New Clutch Makes Engine Sputter When Shifting Slightly Early

I had a new clutch put in my '94 civic a few months back during the engine rebuild. I'm anal about saving gas so I tend to shift a bit early, not enough to make the engine chug, but I might shift into 3rd gear at 17 mph. Never had a problem with it. Since the rebuild, when I do shift earlier, the car has hiccups where there is little or no power for a half to full second. The engine will sputter for a bit until I get up into normal operating range. But it's not like before, I'm shifting no earlier than I have been for the last 6 years and have never dealt with this before. The rpm's don't shoot up so I don't think it's actually slippage.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: Shifting Hard / Clutch Won't Disengage At All After Master Cylinder Replaced

My Ranger had been shifting hard for quite awhile. I recently opted to go ahead and replace the clutch, throwout bearing, had the flywheel turned and replaced the pressure plate.

This just seemed to make the problem slightly worse. I thought it was possible that my master cylinder needed to be replaced (the slave was replaced two years ago and didn't appear to be leaking when I had the tranny off). I replaced the master cylinder and now the clutch won't disengage at all. I've spent several days trying different things to bleed the clutch, and I just can't get it to bleed. I took it back off and bench bled it, then put it back on and bled through the whole system. This isn't working. I've tried numerous suggestions-jacking up the back end of the truck, jacking up the drivers side of the truck, I even bought a vaccuum bleeder and used it for 2 hours just having an assistant fill up the reservoir while I sucked fluid out the bleeder valve. The best I could ever get was some resistance on the pedal, but not enough to push the disc away from the flywheel.

I took the pickup to Ford, they said they bled it and charged me 90 bucks and still couldn't get the clutch to release
