GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: 2005 - Strange Clicking Noise From Rear Left Wheel?
Recently picked up a 05 GLI with the bbs wheels. Last night i was driving into my parking garage and noticed a clicking noise comming from the back left wheel.
I lifted the car on that side and spun the wheel but it didn't make the noise. But once i set it back down and rolled the car the click came back. So i'm guessing it has something to do with pressure being applied to the wheel.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Clunk Like Noise When Turn The Wheel
I've been hearing a "clunk" like noise here & there when I turn the wheel on my GLI all the way to one side then turning it back. I've heard it when making u-turns and when reversing. It seems to be coming from somewhere on the bottom of the drivers side and it doesn't happen all the time. I've brought it to the shop twice but they can't seem to figure out what the problem is & the car won't make the noise whenever they seem to test drive it. What this might be?

Normally I'm pretty good about searching and finding info, but there doesn't seem to be a lot out there for these trannys. In any case, when I hopped in my 20th to move it today, I got this grinding noise when letting out the clutch. The car won't go move in reverse or any of the forward gears. Idles fine, sounds fine when in neutral or when the clutch is depressed. It just grinds when you let the clutch out. Seems like I can select each gear OK. Linkage feels normal.

I was driving down the street and i noticed i couldnt get it in first gear, almost like a wall blocking it. and then i put it into 2nd gear and i started rolling... i turned my car off and when i started it back up, it had a slight grinding noise (in neutral). i put it in first gear, took out the clutch and i wasnt going anywhere... same with 2nd gear...
so i towed my car to the shop, they said my clutch went out and i "lost first and REVERSE gear".... is that possible?!

I started noticing the noise about a week ago, When i seem to let of the gas or even once in a wail push on the gas Hear a "CLICK" noise, this is not when pressing the brakes at all only when letting off pedal?
I am thinking it could be transmission, but have read it could be a few thing, From the brake pads to CV joint to trow out bearing, Axles, Lightened flywheel, Motor mounts, etc. But i am unsure where to start, Its and O2M 6spd tranny in my 20th, with lsd installed, lightened flywheel, VFmotormounts...
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Grinding Noise While Engine Braking On 2004 Jetta GLI V6
2004 Jetta GLI V6 24v 6 speed ... This started a few years ago, but it was happening in 3rd gear only -- therefore I avoided engine braking in 3rd gear all along. The noise was a pretty loud, noticeable grinding/spinning noise. 3rd gear while accelerating or maintaining gas worked and still works perfectly, smooth as can be.
Somewhat recently (6mo-1yr ago) all the other 5 gears started making this grinding noise, some more than others. 1st gear I don't really know because I don't engine brake in 1st. However, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th (barely noticeable but still there) all make the noise. I now of course avoid all engine braking, however even the transitional steps between gears can be heard sometimes ... unless I perfectly match the RPM etc, but I'm just trying to get to work and back here ...
The car is still quite drivable, but with a major obstacle (pain in the ass) and a new clutch is probably around the corner -- I have 107K on it now. However ... a few years ago when it had 26K on it .. it didn't need a new clutch yet 3rd was still making that noise.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Grinding / Squealing Noise When Moving Backwards / In Reverse
So I put in new rotors and pads and everytime the car is backing up I get a weird grinding or squealing noise. I've driven the cars for hundreds of miles and this still happens. This only happens when going backwards. Anything to try???

So I had the cv joints and boots replaced last year. When I turn at low speeds I get a clicking and some road noise, when I turn at higher speeds I get a lot of road noise. I feel like its a combination of strut mounts and wheel bearings?

So I picked up a 20th today. The clutch has 30k on it its an oem luk. Drove fine most of the ride home then i went to shift and it wouldn't grab. Got it towed home. trans goes into all gears fine. When you put it in first and try to go it starts to roll but just makes a grinding type noise and doesnt go into gear. I didn't hear any chatter until maybe 10 miles before this happened. I still have pressure in the clutch pedal as well. when the car is in neutral running there isnt any noise which makes me think it isnt the throw out bearing.

I have the po411 code, not sure which problem it is but when I first start the car it sounds awful like almost a grinding or rattling noise then stops after a few seconds.

Quick question : I just noticed a strange "creaking" or "squeaking" coming from my front suspension when I turn the wheel back and forth - while having the car at a stand still in the driveway...
I'm assuming my Strut Mounts (bushings) and/or Strut Bearings have gone and need to be replaced? As the creaking sound really souds like it could be the rubber bushing buckling?...
I just want to be 100% sure this is my issue before ordering the parts. Need to confirm that this noise I'm hearing is bad mounts or bushings? Or is there something else I should take a look at before ordering the parts?

Ford Escape / Hybrid :: Creaking Noise When Turn The Steering Wheel
Just started getting a creaking noise when I turn the steering wheel. It sounds like it's coming from underneath the vehicle in the area behind the left front wheel. This started recently and it's definitely out of the norm... When I activate my signal and it switches off, i still hear the ticking but no lights are flashing. it'll go on for about a few sec then shut off, sometimes comes on even when i didn't activate my blinkers. Also when i start my car i feel a vibration from under my feet. Sounds like a knocking noise when i accelerate/turn. But then goes away after about 20 seconds of driving.
