Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2006 F250 - Water In Fuel / Check Engine Light Came On
I have a 2006 f250 with 120k. I am having trouble getting the water in fuel light off. I drainned the water out and replaced both filters and the fuel water sensor. The check engine light is now on and the water in fuel light is as well. I'm stumped and can't figure out what to do next. Will the check engine light come on as well with the water in fuel light or is it two different problems?
View 2 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Check Engine Light Came On / Code P0181 Fuel Temp Sensor
Just over 6000 miles....Yesterday morning the light came on. Dealer wouldn't look at it for a week. Went to my mechanic this morning to check the code it was p0181 fuel temp sensor. I read something online about the block heater making it too warm. The other night it was cold so I plugged it in, then yesterday morning it got warm overnight like into the lower 40s. I noticed the grill felt warm too. My mechanic cleared it if it comes back on do I have an issue? Is it ok to drive?

I started my '16 6.7 this am and drove it about a mile.
The check engine light came on and at the same time the display said "Reduced Power". I decide to turn around and try to make it back to my shop but shortly after turning around the display said "Low Fuel Pressure" and within a couple of hundred yards it shut down leaving me stranded by the side of the road.....
I called my local dealer who gave me the Ford Cares 800 number. I got a flat bed in about 1.5 hours which I didn't think was too bad considering I live in the country and they brought it to the dealer. The SA said it might be a couple of days before they could look at it as they were pretty busy... What it could be? The engine is stock with 9100 miles on it...
Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Check Engine Light Codes P0405 And P0404 - Hesitation And Loss Of Power
I have a 06 f250 king ranch with 6.0 . A few days ago my scangauge showed a code P0405
I changed my egr and after it showed two codes : P0405 and P0404
It still has a hesitation and loss of power , although better than before the Change.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Check Back Up Sensors Message
Nothing mechanical, fuel filter change and coolant check. While its there I am going to have them look at a few things:
1. Back up sensors - they work intermittently with a message that comes up saying "check back up sensors" or something to that affect on the display. The icon on the display that lets you check off or on will not let you put a check mark next to "on" after you push the "OK" button to get out of the check message. There is nothing coating the bumper/sensors (mud or anything).
2. Blinkers - sometimes, out of the blue, my left turn signal comes on and it doesn't like to go off. I have to push the blinker wand down to the second full position then back, or repeat if it comes back on. It is almost always the left blinker. It also happens sometimes when I start the truck.
3. Windshield wipers - sometimes if I go from the remote start to key power in the morning I get the windshield wipers going. So I will turn them on with the dial and back off. This is pretty rare.
4. The Ford emblems are starting to corrode.
5. I might have them look at the cruse control - sometimes I can get the light to come on the dash and go to green when I push the + button, but it doesn't hold the speed. I have to shut the truck off and restart all the electronics for it to start working again.
How to check the back up sensors? My gut tells me with the rest of the issues that unless they can repeat and verify my "complaints" they won't be able to do anything. There probably isn't a code thrown for the blinkers going on at will. Is there anything I might be able to do to fix it? Or do these issues require parts being replaced - which we're back to square 1 with being able to verify what it's doing at the dealer?
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Check Park Aid Message At Startup
Get the message every time at start up and won't go away. It doesn't seem to be working when I back up near something. If one sensor goes does the whole system shut down? Also It won't let me check the "ON" box for the park aid.

I have my check coolant message on my display again... I need to get the fuel filters changed so I'm thinking of having the coolant flushed too. 45,500 or there abouts on the ODO.
View 9 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Got Message Check Coolant Additive?
The other day I got the check coolant additive message. I've heard that you need to test this every so often. My truck has 67,000kms. so maybe 45,000 miles ?? Anyways.. At first I thought it was a LOW coolant message not reading it thoroughly the first time.. So I was quick to check the coolant level. The level in the drivers side looks ok but the passenger side seems a bit low. I can't not see any leaks what so ever. So question 2. Are both overflow reservoirs or is one for this coolant additive.

OK, just about to turn over 17,000 miles on my 6.7 and got the message to "Check Coolant Additive". So I came here and did a search, read a bunch of post, gained a little information, but not enough. You know how it goes with the subject gets off track and never comes back to course many times.
So my question is, do I purchase the kits, from what I read it would appear that there are two different test kits required.
Or do I just take it to the dealership and have the test performed? Also from what I have read it would appear that this is a timed message response and not an actual computer generated test...correct?
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Check Coolant Additive Message
Got a "check coolant additive" message in my message center, but the owner's manual isn't too useful explaining what it means or what I should do.
View 9 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Reduced Engine Power Warning Message Pop Up
I have seen this pop up on the truck I think 3 times now over the first 4000 miles on the truck.
Usually it's when I'm on the highway around 70mph or so.
It comes on for a few seconds, then goes away. I do have an exhaust / tune on the car.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: CEL On - Engine Power Reduced Message
I haven't had any issues with this truck before but last night I pulled out onto the highway and my check engine light came on and a message saying engine power reduced I finally got it to reset after 4 times of shutting the truck off, was wondering what this may be without knowing the code. I tried plugging my edge cts into it from my 6.0 but it wouldn't communicate guess it needs a update trucks a 15 f350 with only 30000km.....
View 2 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Reduced Engine Power Message - Code P164A
So I just went on a vacation pulling my horse trailer (first time leaving the state with this truck) and at about 5 hrs into the trip I had a message Reduced Engine Power and went from 70 on the interstate to 10 miles an hour and slowing rather quickly. I ended up shutting it off and restarting and it came back just like normal. I found the nearest ford dealer and they put the computer on it and it showed absolutely nothing, no codes and nothing wrong. The mechanic reset some things and we went on our way.
Then I ended up getting a check engine light saturday. I found someone to read the code and it came up with P164A which is an O2 sensor, he was able to clear it and I put on probably 50 miles today and no check engine light. I have about a 10 hour drive back home. Still debating if I take it to ford near here if they will do anything now that it doesn't show a light?? I hate to chance getting broke down on the highway with a truck that will basically shut down like that?? It just doesn't make sense to me.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2011 F250 Won't Start After Getting Reduced Engine Power Message
I have a 2011 Ford F250 6.7 Powerstroke. It has 107,000 miles on it.
The other day I was driving it down the highway and it got a Reduced Engine Power message on the dash. It lost power and I got off the highway to the service road. Then it died on me.
Had to get it pushed to a station then towed home. It wouldn't start. The starter cranks over for a few seconds but engine won't start. Checked all the fluid levels and batteries. My DEF fluid was only a half gallon low.
What I have noticed is that the DEF level indicator hasn't reminded me that it was low for over 4-5 months now. I had been putting in about 2-3 gallons every 3 months or so. But it hasn't reminded me lately and I just forgot. This is my first diesel.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Reduced Engine Power Message Came Up On Dash And Truck Died
2015 F350 6.7L, 43,000miles
My family and I were driving into West Virginia this morning when the reduced engine power message came up on the dash and the truck died. I coasted off to the side of the road as best I could and got out. Immediately I smell diesel fuel. I look under the truck and there is fuel all over the passengers side frame and when I keyed it back up fuel started spraying down by the right front wheel.
Pulled the fender liner back and saw a small rubber hose that looks like it came off of a tee fitting down by the egr components. I tried to get it back on but wasn't able to get it seated 100% and when I tried to restart it blew off again. Truck is completely stock and ran perfect right up until it died.
Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Low Fuel Message After Filling Up At Pump
After filling up today at the pump, the low fuel message is still coming on. My gauge is correct though. How to clear the message. I keep on trying to reset it with the reset button but it doesn't go away.
View 8 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2016 - Got Low Fuel Pressure Message?
I have a 2016 F350 i purchased about a year ago and now has 7500 miles. last night it tossed up a low fuel pressure message and then de-rated then wouldn't start, i heard a crazy humming sound before it shut off. they pulled the fuel filters "claimed it was gelled" even though it fired right up once it got to the dealership. the fuel i run is good to -9*F and i use ford anti-gel on top of that. So they changed the filters and it wouldn't start again. now they are dropping the tank. So, I am not sure what they are gonna find but I am meticulous when it comes to pulling all the foil off of the anti-gel bottle before even opening the cap. I don't know what could possibly be in the tank to cause the issue.
View 13 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Got Warning Message - Low Fuel Pressure?
Driving back from the funeral and get a Low Fuel Pressure Warning message PPP up in the info display. No CEL's etc thrown (yet?). I have PM23A anti-gel in the tank already but stopped for diesels no poured more in. At the same time, I hear what sounds like an electronic motor making a whirring noise in the dash around the area of the under-hood fuel filter. Also sounds like there is the same noise from the back fuel pump. I assume it's the fuel system starving? Calling the dealer now, but going to continue pressing on cautiously until the truck tells me otherwise.
View 14 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Check Coolant Additive Message While Driving
Driving to work this morning and I get a notification "Check Coolant Additive". Sure, I've got 12,100 miles on it but come on. Dealer dip a test strip in the coolant to check it out. He says it only takes a few minutes to check provided the engine isn't too hot. I guess the "coolant additive" is something that the computer monitors to make sure the coolant is still good.
