Accent LC (2000-05) :: Speed Sensor Location?
trying to find the speed sensor on a 03 accent manual so I can fit cruise control
View 1 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: 2001 - MAF Sensor Location?
I'm trying to locate the MAF sensor on my 2001 LC accent. I can see the air cleaner box, the tube which T's off to the surge tank, and then it goes straight into the throttle body. On the hmaservice website, it shows a MAF sensor between the air cleaner box and the surge tank (or "resonator"). I don't have that! There's concertina tube going straight from the throttle body to the air cleaner box (with T off). Am I just missing a part?? There don't *seem* to be any unused harness connectors lying idly around the place!
View 2 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: Transmission Temperature Sensor Location / P0711 Code
Wife's car threw a p0711 code. It says temp sensor failure or whatever. I found the part on rockauto for 22 bucks but that's not the issue. I've tried searching about this and I seem to find some stuff about elantras and sonatas. I can't seem to find anything specific to a accent. I've read that it's inside the transmission which is fine I've changed valves before and such on old rwd transmissions. But some things I find say it's on the bottom and some say the side. Also wiring is mentioned pretty often with service bulletins.

I cannot find the location of the knock sensor in my 2012 Accent. I just replaced the radiator and had everything off up front unobstructed and couldn't find it. Looked in back, sides, but am completely stumped. I have found information on earlier models but not 2012+.

View 4 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: Misfire On 2 Cylinders - Location Of MAF Sensor?
I have a 2009 Hyundai accent. 2 cylinders misfire. I changed out the spark plugs after the misfiring began and the 2 cylinders that misfire don't follow any specific ignition coil, it's just 2 random ones.
Looking at the data with a reader points to fuel injector number 1 not working properly. The first few seconds the car is on the check engine light blinks and fuel injector 1 spray duration (fluctuates based on gas applied) changes just like all the others. However, when the check engine light goes solid (then the misfire code is thrown) fuel injector 1's spray duration is stuck (usually around 3.5 ms)
The cable going into the fuel injector powers those little troubleshooting lights like it should until you plug the cable into the fuel injector OR remove and replace the light a few times.
I don't know much about cars but someone told me to try cleaning out the Mass AirFlow sensor as they had the problem above and the MAF sensor was the cause. I can't find anything on where the MAF sensor is located though.

View 5 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: Knocking Noise - Low On Oil?
Car ran dangerously low on oil (oil leak that we didn't know was present) and started knocking quite badly.
I pulled the valve cover to check the lifters and everything seemed fine up top. I tried to drop the oil pan but I couldn't get it to separate from the block.
If I can remove the oil pan are the main and rod bearings that hard to change or do they require special tools?
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Knocking In Suspension At Higher Speeds
But i still have the sound, and it definitely sounds like its coming from the passenger side, however when i looked at everything and tried wiggling the wheel, nothing seemed out of place. Would that still indicate a bad ball joint? Is there anything else i should inspect/have inspected?
The sound only happens when i go over a big bump, or a medium bump at a higher speed. It doesn't seem to affect my steering or driving feel, but its still not a noise that should be there.
I found that the driver side tie rod was a little loose, and replaced that, but sound persists.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Clicking / Knocking Sound When Decelerating
This start this morning on my way to work. When I took my foot off the gas I would hear a clicking knocking sound the sound slowed down as the car slowed down. Any time I took my foot of the gas this would happen. Was still there when I hit the break. If i had my foot just barely on the gas it would go way. Its an automatic 2000 Accent 156K miles.

View 6 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: Started Kind Of Rough Then Knocking / Tapping
I own a 2001 Accent 1.6, auto. 150,000 well-taken-care-of miles. New plugs/wires/timing belt/coolant flush 10,000 miles ago. Most recent oil change was with Shell Rotella T5 (I believe 10w-30 blend) and Purolator PureOne filter, 4-5,000 miles ago. It does not burn any oil, and runs very well. It has never been low on oil, revved high, or abused in the 10,000 miles I've owned it (except an ebrake u-turn on a dirt road to scare the wife )
The engine has always had a mild tick when cold, that goes away within about 30 seconds. Normal, from what I could tell. Also, it has always had a tick from roughly 1500-idle when releasing the gas, in neutral. Again, seems fairly normal for a little engine, I figured just some valve noise.
This morning I started the car (sat overnight) and it idled a bit rough for about 20 seconds, and I noticed that the ticking from before was now closer to a knocking/tapping, nowhere NEAR the horribleness of a spun rod on my WRX . But it was still a bit alarming. It never really quieted down, but as I rev, the sound goes away completely above 2k, and the flutter when I release the throttle is louder than before.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: CEL Blinking / Code P0303 - Knocking Sound From Engine
I have an 05 Accent with about 115,000 miles. It is a GLS automatic.
This morning as I was pulling from a stop light about 30 seconds from my office the car was extremely sluggish. I noticed the CEL light blinking and could hear a knocking sound from the engine. I pulled over and found code P0303, cylinder #3 misfire.
I checked the spark plug cable on the coil side it looks ok. I have not been able to check anything else yet as I am at work.

View 9 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: Faulty Engine Coolant Sensor?
I went to emissions test my 2002 Accent, 1.5L 5spd, and failed because of a faulty engine coolant sensor. Problem is, I can't find it anywhere! Worse, I can't find anything online either. I have my second child on the way and need to sell the car and this is the only thing preventing me to sell. Is it worth it to replace myself or to take to a shop and have them do it.
