View 6 RepliesFord F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Part Number And Location Of Battery Fuse?
Had a question about where the battery fuse is located and it's number. I just put a brand new alternator on.my truck. Turns out I might not have needed one, switched the battery with the new alternator on and the truck still went dead after it ran for about 10-12 seconds. So some told me it may be the battery fuse but I don't know which fuse it could be.

My 99 CR-V has lost compression in cyl #3 and now #4, 40 and 30psi respectively. Still runs, about 10mpg or less local, 14 highway. No HP, forget fifth gear unless I'm drafting someone downhill on the highway. I've got 228k on this otherwise nice vehicle. CEL reading misfire codes galore. Anyhow, should I trust one of these outfits that will send me a rebuilt head with my returning the core or should I pay some local a bunch more for the rebuild?

View 12 RepliesSuburban :: 1999 - Exhaust Gasket Keeps Failing (Part No 31575)
1999 suburban, 5.7, 140K miles. The exhaust gasket between the cats and the muffler (Y-pipe connection to intermediate pipe) keeps failing. I have tried various brands, from Dynomax to Walker. It is part #31575 and has the two holes.
History: The first time I replaced the gasket, I twisted off the studs so I replaced them with SS bolts and use never-seize to make it easy to remove next time.
The cats were replaced a year ago with a new Walker 50410 because the passenger side pipe near the manifold kept cracking and weld repaired, but eventually split open all the way to the O2 sensor 1.
A shop advised me to try using some Permatex 80335 Muffler and Tailpipe Sealer on the new gasket. I tried this and it still failed after a few months.
In my latest attempt, I stacked two gaskets and liberally applied the Permatex on all sides of both gaskets. This has survived for 6 months, but is now leaking again.
I'm starting to wonder if I have a restriction in the muffler that's causing a higher than normal pressure inside the exhaust system.
Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: PCM Ground Clip Part Number?
Does that little clip that grounds the PCM case have a part number? I've been troubleshooting an "SES - but no codes that would cause it" issue, and noticed tonight that clip is not there. Even a photo would work, as I assume I could make one if I had to. It's just a piece of copper, right?

I am not sure mine are done yet, but I was told by mechanic that they are failing and that the fronts aren't spinning as smooth as they should when up on the jack. They were investigating a sticky caliper at the time and said they believe heat from failing bearing caused that issue. I figured I'd do a little looking for parts pricing just incase. Does come with everything needed to change it? From reading, I found part # 73CZ-1104B is that the one?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2001 F250 - Heater Blow Warm For The Most Part
Sunday I bought a 2001 f250/5.4 to replace my 91 f250. I didnt drive it yesterday, but this morning on my drive to work the heater was very weak, it seemed to blow warm for the most part, but was barely pushing air even on high. I flipped it over to A/C to see if it blew any harder and it did. Does the blower motor need replace? if so why does the AC blow harder than the heater?

The rear hub outer oil seal on my 05 350 is leaking. The 350 Super Duty Twin Cab was never imported into the UAE so can I use the same seals as the Excursion or another Ford vehicle?
Failing that do we know the name and part number of a seal manufacturer whom I might be able to source from in Dubai? Ford don't make the seals them selves so there must be an alternate source for these things surely?

I'm trying to locate the part number (and a replacement) for the plastic piece that covers the top of the tailgate (when its shut) next to the step. It's about a 12 to 16 inch long piece of plastic which has some broken tabs on it, so everytime I drop the tailgate, it either flies out or starts to... I checked the fische online and I don't even see it in the picture. I did find some one-piece parts called "tailgate spoiler cap" but I didn't find any to fit a 2014 F-250 with the step on the tailgate. Should I just tell the wife to go hot-glue it ?
