Mazda :: 2010 - Persistent Warning Beeps That Occur Approximately Every Minute
What is the meaning of the persistent warning beeps that occur approximately every minute? The warning beeps began after the car was turned off following a 200 mile trip and are still occurring now. No warning light ever came on. How do I stop them?

I have close to 60k on my V-8 and it has been virtually trouble free. The last few days I have heard what seems to be a whining or whistling coming from the drive train at the top of 3rd, then 4th,5th and 6th. Kind of sounds like metal to metal, but is a very quiet whistle.

2004 3.5L Santa Fe ... My vehicle has about 156k and has a new problem. Occasionally, there is a howling / whining that seems to occur occasionally once the engine is warm. When this happens, the directional can light but will not blink. Same for the hazard light.
Replaced the alternator only about 2 months ago, Checked the p/s pump and it is good and no fluid loss from the reservoir. Been a great vehicle with only a minimal of issues since new. The first time this happened, the car had been on a 15 mile run. It sat for about 20 min afterward when I returned home. After re-starting it to run another errand, the whining / howling began. This lasted about a mile and went away about 2 blocks from my house on my return.

How to disable the loud beeping that seems to occur for everything, door open, seatbelt off, car off but key still in, ahhh. It is soo loud and there must be a way to disable it or break it or something.

First and foremost, I love my Touareg....when it works!!
Problem # 1 : I have had it at the VW dealership in Pensacola, FL 7 times to fix the flat tire sensor. They can't/won't fix it. Once you start the car and get rolling it will go off. It will go away and come back on several times for the first few miles. I have also noticed that after temp changes it becomes more sensitive. I have checked the manufacture's tire suggestions and they are dead on.
Problem #2 : The battery will die if the car is not driven in a day or two. I just had the battery replaced a month ago and thought that it was the issue. I have checked to make sure that I do not have any accessories plugged in and it still happens...i.e. car phone charger, ipod, radar detector.
Problem # 3 : This maybe in conjunction with problem 2. I just recognized that the information display above the steering wheel will not turn off when the car is locked and not in use. This just started and will surely drain the battery.
Problem # 4 : The navigation system comes on-line when the vehicle is started. It asks for the user to input an agreement at the beginning of each start. The navigation will no longer accept any inputs. The volume work for the radio and that's about it.
Problem # 5 : The steering wheel controls for the display will not work. When you try to page through the information display on the steering wheels right hand corner it does nothing. The rolling wheel for the radio on the steering wheel also does not work.
I have had so many problems with my ride that I am ready to light it on fire. It looks great in the driveway and that's about it. I realize that the majority of my problems are possibly connected.
Touareg :: Squeaking Noise From Chassis Occur Mostly At Slow Speeds
OK here's a new one (for me anyway). My Reg started to produce a squeaking noise from the chassis. I can't tell exactly where its coming from (yet) but it seems to occur mostly at slow speeds. I can reproduce the noise by driving over a speed bump or making a slow speed turn. I suspect an exhaust hanger as it seems to happen front and rear. I cannot reproduce it by bouncing on the corners of car though.

I have a squealing noise that seems to be coming from under the car when going 25MPH or over. It doesn't seem to vary with the rpms of the motor or how fast I'm going - it's either on or off with out much variation in pitch. Sounds like a dry bearing, but it's baffling as it will happen every time I drive for a few days, then will inexplicably go silent for a while.

My 2005 V8 Touareg has developed a squeal from the fan motor. I've searched but not found anything else on the forums. When you turn the fan on, you hear the squeal. Turn fan off, it goes away. Change fan speed, squeal changes.
I'm out of warranty now, so I'm hoping to fix this myself...I suspect it *might* be a simple solution like lubricating the motor axle. How to get to the AC fan motor? Is this easy to find in a service manual?

I am trying to get a sense on how prevalent this issue is. Getting brake noise when stopping? It is progressively getting worse, and my Treg has been in 4 times for that issue alone. My dealership, i think has sort of given up. They tried "grinding" the edges down as suggested by VWoA, no go...

We are waiting for the front drive shaft? It all started a while ago when the Treg started squealing in the front when cruising, it's really loud now and very annoying. Dealer says it is ok to drive on (?). I can't believe it, this sounds not good, I kinda do not look forward to the big lock-up.

for the last couple of weeks our 05 touareg has kinda been shakey, we knew it was time for a tune-up but hubby has been working crazy hours. Today it started squealing really loud every time he would let off the gas pedal. We went to to Midas and they said that it was misfiring in Bay 1 1-6. They told us that only VW would be able to fix it, but I found a couple of sites that sell them.

Is this binding or just normal behavior--whenever I'm in a parking garage making relatively tight turns I hear my tires squealing. Never on regular pavement. Seems like the surface of garages is different than asphalt or blacktop.

I've had the Treg for about 3.5 months now and at about 1500 miles I started to have intermittent squealing from the brakes. Now at 2300 its constant. I brought it to the dealer and of course all I get is the usual BS they feed everyone... brake pads today don't use asbestos and so the metal squeaks...blah, blah... total crap. No OEM brakes should squeal (let alone on a $40k vehicle) and its never been a problem with other cars with original pads. Is there a solution?

"TOP UP WASH FLUID".... is the only error i get in my display, followed by a squealing noise whenever i try to make a turn AND it seems my power steering has been turned off. at first, i thought the squeal was from a belt, or PCV valve, but i only have 46k miles(06 3.2L). i check my power steering reservoir and it was bone dry. is my fix as simple as a refilling the reservoir? or do i need to flush or replace anything? i've already ordered the Pentosin CHF 11S Synthetic power steering fluid.

So I own a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7. I am the fourth owner and currently there is 168k miles on the vehicle. I purchased the car with around 110k miles on it and have had it for nearly 5 years now.
Aside from general maintenance I have never had a single issue with it, until last weekend. On the way back home from a road trip I began to notice a whining sound, and then very abruptly the car shook and I lost control of the vehicle and had to pull over on the shoulder. I was on the highway and was VERY fortunate to not have gotten into an accident.
After inspecting carefully I discovered my 4WD Drive Shaft was literally hanging by a thread. The knuckles were ruined, and in the process my Transfer Case and Exhaust System were all severely damaged.
Touareg :: Whirring / Squealing Sound From Underneath / Behind Front Seats
My wife's 06 T-reg has started experiencing a squealing/whirring sound from underneath. The sound appears to be coming from underneath the back seat. It starts at appx 20MPH and continues as we drive. The sound doesn't get louder, it just continues.
Tonight when we got home, we also noticed a smell of something. Possibly a clutch-type smell. Am I looking at a transfer case going bad?
Touareg :: Slight Whining Upon Acceleration
Speed doesn't' seem to be a factor. When I am coasting and then step on the throttle I hear a faint whine coming from the drive shaft or the right rear end. Faint and only upon acceleration. Is this common? Along with all the other "noises" upon start up.

I have a 2006 sonata gls 3.3l v6. There is a whining/slight squeaking noise coming from the drive belt when i turn the car on. When the noise started it would only occur when turning with the AC or Heat on. It then escalated to whenever i started the car and would go away after driving for a while. Now the noise continues even after a drive sometimes..
I've been told by a mechanic friend that the belt looks ok. So my plan is to take the passenger side tire off and the splash guard on that side to get at the tensioner for the belt. Once I have the belt off i plan on turning the various pulleys that the serpentine belt goes on to see if i can figure out which one is making the noise. How to pinpoint where the noise is coming from?
