So - I'm sitting at my VW dealership, hoping that their can figure out why I'm getting a high pitched, miserable squealing sound, every time I depress my brake pedal. It's metallic sounding, and with the history of brake issues I've had in owning other VW models, I just figured it was the brake pads they use. Sounds like their tech believes it is an issue with the tires??? I've got an 04 Phaeton with roughly 38K miles on it - and it's supposedly "certified"....

We are waiting for the front drive shaft? It all started a while ago when the Treg started squealing in the front when cruising, it's really loud now and very annoying. Dealer says it is ok to drive on (?). I can't believe it, this sounds not good, I kinda do not look forward to the big lock-up.

I am having a problem with my 2004 Toyota Camry XLE V6 brakes. For the past couple months I keep seeing the brake dash light turn on and the brake fluid is constantly going down but I don't see any wet spots under the car. I needed rear pads so I kept thinking that it was just the fluid going down because of worn rear pads but I changed the rear brakes last weekend and still have this problem. Today when I went to drive the car for the first time of the day I heard this loud noise every time I stepped on the brake pedal. I checked the brake fluid level and it was a little below low so I filled it back up. I kind of feel like I've had to fully press down on the brake pedal lately to stop the car. There's plenty of brake power but I feel like I have to push all the way down and I don't remember it being like that.

Kia - Rio :: Loud Squealing When AC On?
So basically- off and on for the past month or so -(but increasingly so) my kia has been making a very loud squealing sound whenever the ac is on (it would immediately stop as soon as the ac was turned off, no delay). I know I shouldn't have ignored it for so long- but now the ac has stopped working, no more squealing. Is this likely the serpentine belt or a pulley or something else? I will be taking it to the shop in the next few days...

I get a musty odor from my vents from time to time. It usually happens on days when it is damp out and often on startup but sometimes it happens later in the trip. Its quite strong, unpleasant, and terrible for allergies.
I read something about this a long time ago but cannot find the posts. Found a TSB summary on VW's site but Dealer pulled it and says its for Passat. Thinking its something in the A/C or ventilation system.

For a few months now every time I start the car with AC on the belt squeals really loud. It's been getting worse so I need to fix it now. I just don't know if it's just a belt change or something bigger like the actual AC unit. I got the car certified pre owned in 07 and have never changed an engine belt on it so it's probably due. I have 2013 GS350 I bought in October with 5k miles. Currently I have 14,500 miles on it today.
Every time I have a cold start on the car, When driving at low speeds and braking, it has a loud squealing noise. Once the car has been running and driving, it goes away and doesn't came back unless I park the car and get back in an hour or so later. I went to the dealer and the guy said it's "normal", said moisture gets in and needs a few minutes break apart and that's how Lexus designs their cars. Which is believe is BS.

Accent RB (2012+) :: Loud Squealing While Driving At 55 Mph
I have a 2012 accent, while I drive this loud squealing happens. My car is under warranty but the techs have to hear the noise to do anything.
At 55mph the squealing gets so loud my music can't cover the noise. Around 70mph it goes away (still can hear slightly). When I come to a stop it keeps squeaking for few seconds then stops.
Accent RB (2012+) :: Loud Squealing At Start Up
I have a 2012 Accent with about 83,000km. Back in the summer, I'd noticed an issue with it squealing when I first started driving it after it had been sat overnight or any extended period of time. After 3 trips to the dealership, they finally determined it was the serpentine belt and replaced it which did work. However, now a couple months since that, the noice is back and worse than ever. This is how every morning starts with the car now:
Reverse off the drive, press on breaks and hear a groan as I do so but no squeal. Adjust to 'drive' and accelerate and instantly hear a very high pitched squealing which continues until either a minute or so into driving or I drive faster than 50km/h, whichever comes first.
The level of noise it's making now is becoming unbearable. It's embarrassing and I'm worried something is seriously wrong. Just my luck too, the warranty ran out on the 18th of this month. I could probably catch a recording of the noise if needed.
Grand AM :: 2000 - Squealing Loud When Parked And When Using The Gas
I have a 2000 Grand Am GT that squeals loud. It squeals when it is parked and when I am using the gas, but usually it won't if I let off the gas while driving down the road. We have replaced the belt, the idler pulley, the belt tensioner, and got rid of the AC. My dad thinks maybe it could be the crank pulley... could that be the problem?

I recently purchased a new (to me) 2010 prius and I've been noticing that sometimes, but not always, I hear a fairly loud noise when lifting my foot off the brake pedal. It sounds like a squeak or squeal, and I want to say I can almost feel a tiny bit of resistance in the pedal when it happens though that could be in my head. The noise does NOT occur when pushing down on the pedal (only when lifting), and it seems to only occur when the car is stopped.

I have a squealing noise that seems to be coming from under the car when going 25MPH or over. It doesn't seem to vary with the rpms of the motor or how fast I'm going - it's either on or off with out much variation in pitch. Sounds like a dry bearing, but it's baffling as it will happen every time I drive for a few days, then will inexplicably go silent for a while.

It's cold and raining quite hard out and I just took my car out to the store and when I pulled into the parking spot a very loud squealing noise began coming from under the hood (sounded like driver side). I turned the car off and restarted and it was still there. I turned it off again and started it and it was gone. I drove the car home without issue and restarted a couple of times with no noise. The car ran great otherwise. What that was? I know very little about cars. It scared the crap out of me--it sounded quite loud--more of a screeching sound.

I have been noticing a squealing sound that I believe is coming from the rear brakes. I only hear this when I back up form the garage and apply the brakes. This happens mostly when the weather is cold, and only when I first back from the garage. This sound can be loud at times. Took it to two different dealers, but they could not hear anything. My 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid (manual) makes a loud squealing noise (between the speeds of about 25 and 45. It usually starts making the noise once the car has warmed up (but does not always make the noise). It makes the noise when the car is coasting but not when I accelerate or brake. The noise seems to be coming from somewhere in the front end.

I don't remember exactly when it started, but now if I turn the wheel it has a loud squeaking/squealing sound. Once I am going over 10mph I don't hear it (probably just don't over the road noise and sound of my truck), but turning into a parking spot it is super loud. What it could be? I have modded B and modded V codes, with 285/75/16 Michelin all terrains. I had that setup for a good 4 months without it squeaking.
