Golf IV / Jetta IV :: MK4 GTI Leans A Lot To Right When Let Off Steering Wheel - Out Of Alignment

My mkiv gti leans a lot to the right whenever I let off the steering wheel. I brought it to a shop and they put it up on a lift and told me that I needed a tie rod flip kit because it's lowered. Long story short, they charged me $70 to look at it for 10 minutes. Do you really need a flip kit for a car lowered on coilovers? I have several friends with lowered cars and none off them have had to do this. I'm thinking it's something else such as a bad shock but I'm no expert.

Honda - Accord :: Suspension Bouncy / Car Leans A Lot When Going Around Corners

I have a 2003 Honda Accord V6. It has about 105K miles. The suspension seems a little bouncy. I would like better handling. The car leans a lot when going around corners. I've heard that new Honda struts are not as good for handling as some other brands.

I read that I should replace the dampers and springs together to get better handling. Most of the struts I've read about lower the car, however, I don't really want to lower it. I just want better handling for everyday driving. Am I on the right track?

Touareg :: 2004 - AC Not Blowing Enough Air

My 2004 Touareg is not blowing enough air through the a/c. Even if I set the fan at manual the flow of air is not hard enough thus cooling the air takes forever. The dealer mentioned some plastics flaps behind the main dash that are broken!!!! Also in order to change those they claim to have to take out the whole dash minimum 8-10 hours of labor. does it make sense?????

Touareg :: 2004 Or 2006 V10 TDI?

Back when Touareg's were first introduced, my dad and I test drove a new one. I don't remember but I believe the demo was the standard V6--certainly not the TDI. We loved it. My dad chose not to trade in his '02 Passat for it because he was concerned about getting in and out of it at his age.

Fast forward to today. My dad hasn't driven a car in years, and won't ever again. We still have his Passat but it doesn't really serve any purpose as it doesn't really offer any utilitarian purpose over the other cars we have. I am considering other options as we prepare to sell it, but the Touareg has never left memory.

I would really like the V10 TDI version because ... well, because I do. I have heard about the difficulty in using the rearview mirror because the rear window is blocked (a problem supposedly solved with the newer generation Touareg's), but I don't remember that being such a big deal. Maybe it was because I still owned a EuroVan at the time, and I rely on the side mirrors 80% of the time. I also heard the early trannies were unsophisticated and weak. So that has led me to two questions:

Does the V10 TDI have the same tranny as the V6 or V8 from the same vintage Touareg's?

Are there any fundamental differences between a 2004 V10 TDI and a 2006 V10 TDI?

I would think the answer to the first question would be YES since my wife's Golf TDI has a different tranny (different gear ratios, anyway), but I don't want to assume anything. I haven't dug up any info that would suggest any answer to the second question. However, my digging included reading the sticky in this forum. My eyes almost bled just reading the topics. I did read one thread specific to the V10 about shaking and such at different speeds and/or different acceleration levels. So, I now have a third question:

Should I even consider a 2004 or 2006 Touareg V10 TDI? If so, at what level of consideration should I give it? Are the newer alternatives that much better?

It looks like three questions, but consider it a three-part question.

BTW, I'm not interested in getting a new one. My Eos isn't three years old yet; my daughter will get a new Tiguan when she graduates; and my wife is starting to want a Tiguan, too, despite liking the TDI in her Golf. I have other interests and a new Touareg would bite those in the backside.

Touareg :: 2004 - Cannot Get The Car Into Neutral To Get It Towed

My '04 T-Reg will not start/crank. As a result, I cannot get the car into neutral to get it towed. I researched my problem and it could be anything from a new KESSY Module needed to a Steering Column. How do I get the car into neutral so it does not have to be dragged onto the flatbed? I read another thread on this and one thought was there was a white spring loaded switch under the trim near the gear selector. I got the trim off but cannot find the switch or get this damn truck into neutral.

See reports to reset the yellow battery isolation switch. Where the hell is this? What carpet do you remove? I tried to find it and no luck. There are those two panels on the floor (one on right side of chair and one on left corner) but those apparently are to access the battery tilt the chair back.

Touareg :: 2004 - Brake Light Is On

So, my buddy has an '04 Touareg. He went to the local dealer (who are well known for ripping people off) since he had the brake sensor light on. They told him he would have to replace his brake pads AND the rotors as well, for the 4 wheels, coming up to almost $2K. His car only has 36k miles, and I told him I thought they weren't being honest. Why would rotors go bad so early? He drives like a little girl, with no strong braking at all, in dry conditions... He hasn't seen any signs of vibration or lethargy regarding braking, the only indicator being the sensor light. I am trying to convince him on getting a second opinion before he gets mugged by the dealer.

Touareg :: 2004 - Radio Cuts Out Sometimes

bring my 04 V8 in for second service in two weeks to fix the same two problems, (i) low voltage error messages in MFI, including AC off, Electrics Off and Fault Running Gear, and (ii) fix the keyless entry. So for, item i is fixed. Item ii is not and it's going back next week again. Further, they were supposed to take one of my two keys and replace it with a new one since the key I use was giving me an error message that read "key not present." So, they coded the new one and instead of coding my wifes key, they send hers back for warranty replacement and gave me the same dead one back.

Here's the new one. I'm driving home from work tonight, radio on a great tune, and I turn on the rear defroster. Guess what, the radio cuts out. Soon as I turn it off, the radio works again. On all stations, although some have more static than others. What gives??? Never had this problem in 4 years of ownership. It's like the ole gal knows she's going back in 8 weeks and is being replaced by an '08 T2 and she's revolting.

Touareg :: 2004 - Won't Start Keyless

got my 2004 v8 fully loaded back in 2004 and quickly purchased the keyless start kit from spock.. been enjoying it ever since.. just passed 60,000 miles and keyless entry (where you just touch the handle to unlock) AND keyless start stopped working. car is at the dealership for the 60,000 mile service and having them look at it. they say that the keyless controller module is throwing error codes re: the signal and needs to be replaced... parts and labor $1,115!!! and, of course, the warranty went out at 50,000 miles.
