Touareg :: 2004 - AC Blowing Hot Air / Battery Light Came On
Last Friday, as I was on the way to a very important appointment (closing on my house that on the market for 7 MONTHS!), my Treg decides to stop running at the stoplight. I turned the vehicle off and on and nothing. The aircon is blowing hot air and the car would not start. After 4 attempts the car starts up. The battery light comes on.
In front of my house the Treg stalls again and this time the power steering goes out. I start it up again and make it home. I call VW Roadside and they were very useful and got a flatbed out to my place within 1 hour.
They tow it to Advantage VW and they run all sorts of diagnostics on the vehicle and test drive the vehicle 3 times. Nothing shows up. The service manager (Scott - awesome service) states that there is nothing wrong with the Treg and tells me to pick it up.
I show up and I start up the car and blast the AC (it's Texas and it's HOT). I wait for the AC to kick in and nothing....I return the car to service and I get a phone call 2 days later stating that they talked to VW Tech and now they are in the process of replacing the compressor, evap, expansion valve - pretty much the entire AC system.
Touareg :: AC Is Not Blowing Cold Air At All
Was driving down today (4 hour trip) my AC is not blowing cold air at all... I had the temp set to 62 and fan speed all the way up and i can barely feel it with my hand... Feels like no air coming out of the vents but the air is set to the highest speed, i can definitely hear the fan blowing but no air (very weak air).
After park our car for about 2 hours, on our trip back the AC worked again... i was able to get nice cold air at fan speed 2... but it only lasted 2 hours, half way into the return trip... same thing happened!! Fan speed all the way up, temp set to LO and still very weak air and temp feels like 78.
Touareg :: AC Blowing Out Warm Air
I turned on my AC... set the temp to 62 degrees (pressed AUTO and pressed the button where all the AC controls are all the same temp) ... And its blowing out warm air.. Left it running for about 5 minutes and still no sign of cold air.... Am I doing something wrong? do i not know how to turn on the AC?

I have a 2004 4.2. Touareg A/C is only blowing warm air. I ran Vag-com no codes. I used a gauge to check refrigerant ,the system was empty. I added refrigerant, i could see it increase and then decrease immediately. The A/C then work for a while then started blowing warm again. Used the gauge again ...empty. I then noticed clear oil on the ground. There is a drip from underneath front drivers side , looks like from a small silver canister by radiator.
I'm thinking about adding dye and looking for the leak. Is this A DIY fix or should I just take it to a mechanic. I've replaced the timing belt, brakes, drive shaft and a few other repairs. I hate taking this car to a mechanic, they always have issues.
Touareg :: AC Occasionally Blowing Warm
Brought my Touraeg in due to a/c occasionally blowing warm. Works 95% of the time. Also, while driving pops up warning light that says "Electronics: Consumers being shut off" this seems to somewhat coincide with the a/c issue. Dealer just called and said I have leaves in my system and need new pollen filter---- and not covered by warranty--- Does not make sense to me-- first we have covered parking and limited leaves in area--- also if leaves then why would it work perfectly sometimes and not others?
View 6 RepliesTouareg :: Mechanical Sound While Stopping / Accelerating - A/C Blowing Hot Air
I have the 2 zone auto climate control system.
1. When I come to a stop, there is a mechanical sound coming from behind the central vents as though a flap is trying to move. After I accelerate, I hear it for a a little longer but then it eventually goes away but returns again when I stop. I usually leave the setting in auto but even manually manipulating the controls doesn't seem to get rid the noise.
2. For a high end system with automatic climate control, it is a pretty crappy system. Main gripe is in the morning, let's suppose it's 12 deg C / 55 deg F outside and the system is set for 20 deg C / 70 deg F, it insists on blowing hot air!!! It's as though it's sensing the outside temp or ovber compensating. Eventually after 10 - 15 minutes everything settles down.
Touareg :: 2006 V6 - Left Side Blinkers Keeps Blowing Fuse
My left side blinkers keeps Blowing the fuse, I replaced ir 3 times already. First I thought it was the light bulb but my whole left side (driver side) blinkers were out except the one on the side mirror. Is there a relay for the blinkers somewhere that might be bad or something else?
View 2 RepliesTouareg :: Climatronic System - Cold Air Blowing Only On Passenger Side
I have a 2004 Touareg with a 2-zone climatronic system. A while back (hard to quantify exactly), my wife noted that she couldn't ever get warm on her side. I stuck a temperature sensor in the vents and cycled through the temperature settings on both sides. On the driver's side, the air varied with the setting. On the passenger side, it did not.
The absolute biggest problem I'm having, is that here in Florida, I get ice cold air blowing on the bottom of the windshield which causes significant fogging. I can adjust the air to blow away from the windshield, but I obviously get some "blow around" and end up with spots of condensation on the outside of the window. The condensation is almost solely on the passenger side.
I pulled the dash off and replaced the temperature sensor on the passenger side. It actually fixed the problem -- but that "fix" only seemed to last about two or three weeks. After measuring temperatures, the temperature tracked with the setting -- on both sides. Now, the problem has returned and I'm ready to replace the damper motor for the mixing damper on the passenger side. But, after reviewing the eBahn manual, they need the VAS 5051/5052 to intiate a "service position". . . I obviously don't have the VAS 5051.
So, my questions: Is it damper actuator? I also understand the climatronic module "could" be bad. Could the second temperature sensor have actually gone bad? Can the VAG-COM be used to intiate the service position? If not, what are my options?
Touareg :: 2011 Hybrid - AC Stops Blowing When Passenger Door Is Opened
We recently had the blower motor replaced in my wife's 2011 CPO Hybrid. What we've noticed in the past, and which is still happening, is that with the car in park and the air conditioning blasting away, when the passenger door is opened the air conditioning stops blowing and only resumes a second or two after the door is closed. The typical scenario is something like this. Leaving lunch with the kids, I put one in the back seat and hop in the front to turn the car on. A/C starts going while wife is buckling up the other kid, when she closes the back door and opens the front passenger door the A/C stops blowing as if it completely turns off. She closes her door and it comes back on. Is this some fancy feature of the Hybrid or is something still busted?
View 1 RepliesTouareg :: AC To Stop Blowing Cool Air Off The Upper Vent - Windshield Condensation
I have only 3 days with my new Treg and I cannot make the A/C to stop blowing cool air off the upper vent into the windshield. So the cold air makes condensate water on the outside and I have to use the wipers to wipre it out, appearing again in few seconds. The A/C settings are either AUTO at 70F or manual and making sure the air is directed to the front.
View 18 RepliesLexus GX 2004-09 :: Hot Air Blowing In From Vents (AC Off)
I had my 2006 GX 470 in for 30k service last month. Cabin Filter was replaced.
Now with the temp set to 68 degrees, outside air on, the vent(AC off) blows hot air, usually when using the car first time in the day. Sometimes, after a while, cool air starts blowing in. I feel something changed after the service. If I set the temp to MAX Cold it blows cool air. I have had this car since 2006 and not seen this behavior.
Currently its cold in California so outside air should not be hot at all. I also experienced this when it was snowing outside, during our Reno trip.
TrailBlazer :: 2004 - AC Just Stop Blowing
I have a 2004 Trailblazer, and just recently the A/C just stop blowing. I have checked to relays and fuses and all are fine, I even checked the fan motor relay thinking that would work. I am at a lost right now and have no clue what else to check.
View 8 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Blowing Hot Air From Blower When Off
My 2009 prius blows hot air from the fan even when the fan/heater is off. This usually happens when I am driving >40mph on the freeway and as soon as I speed up to merge or overtake, the fan turns on and blows hot air?
View 5 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: A/C Blowing Different Volume Of Air?
I have an 06 with 232,000. I was driving back home last week on a hot day and I noticed that the volume of air coming out of the a/c had gone down to about nothing. Doesn't matter what speed I put it on. I pulled over, pulled the cabin filter cleaned it and set back off. It seemed to be better for a while and then the same thing. Got home late that night, went out next morning and set off, all is well. I make frequent stops during the day for work, so all is well all day long. It was about an 1 1/2 hour drive home and about an hour into it same thing, no volume of air. Next morning, all is well. The fan seems to be working on all speeds, just no air, and only after it has been running for an hour. Shut it off for a while and everything is OK.
View 16 RepliesFord A/C :: 2004 - Less Cool Air Blowing Out
2004 Foed Freestar, the A/C has started blowing less than cool air in the past sveveral days. I'm assuming its low on refrg. but how does one check by visual inspection? If it is low will a simple re-charge kit w/guage and super dupper leak sealant do the trick? I saw a kit at Advance Autoparts for manufactured by Interdynamics. It had a guage w/trigger release for can content and three 12oz. cans of R134a. Will this kind of kit work?
View 6 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: A/C Not Blowing Right
I used my A/C on my 04 f 150 for the first time this year today, and it seems cold but not really blowing out of the vents strong. The blower sounds like its blowing at different speeds but not coming out of the vents much different at each speed. What could be causing this, would the cabin air filter cause this???
View 10 RepliesLexus RX 2004-09 :: AC Blowing Hot Air If Temperature Is Not Set To Max Cold
I have a 2004 2nd generation Toyota Harrier (Lexus model RX330). The A/C blowing hot air if temperature is not set to Max Cold. This happened no matter whether turn on the A/C with Auto or Manual setting. This case also happen no matter whether setting the A/C system to Dual mode or not, no matter whether turn on or off the air intake control button.
As long as A/C on, cold air only come out when temperature set to Max Cold, even if set to 18 degree, full hot air come out. Another thing is, say I have the A/C on, set to max cold, cold air came out from the front vent, but after I try to increase the temperature to say 18 degree, the hot air flow will change to Floor/Windshield mode.
Could it because due to the change of the battery? Is there anything need to reset after replacing the battery?
Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Fan Blowing Loudly And AC Just Stopped
Ok, so about 3 months ago I noticed the fan was blowing kinda loudly, but stopped. Then 2 weeks ago, my AC just stopped the next morning it started blowing again, then 2 days later it stopped again and hasn't come back on. When I try to turn it on I can feel a light trickle of cool air but I don't hear the fan. .. what does this sound like?
View 1 RepliesLexus GX 2004-09 :: A/C Not Blowing Cold Air All The Time
It seems my A/C isn't blowing cold air all the time. It's as if the compressor isn't kicking on or is intermittent. It eventually does, but it takes a long time to cool the vehicle. I've had it about 6 years and it has definitely changed. Vehicle is an '04 with 106K now.
