Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2008 GLS - Pop Noise When Braking

I have an '08 GLS and I've been hearing a "pop" noise coming from the rear passenger wheel well when I am braking. It only happens once per braking episode and usually if I am applying medium brake pressure, i.e. slowing from >25 mph. What this might be and is it normal?

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Clunking Noise At Low Speeds / Braking Or Accelerating Away From Stop Lights

2007 Sonata 3.3. Crunching, clunking noise at low speeds, braking or accelerating away from stop lights. Noise disappears at speeds over 25-30 mph. Noise can be replicated by rocking car forward and backward while in park, with engine turned off. Rocking side to side does not reproduce noise. Bouncing car suspension at all four corners does not reproduce noise. Hood open, rocking forward and backwards, noise seems to be coming from behind engine, and with hand on engine motion can be felt. I'm thinking engine mount, but how can I get a good look at it to check?

Golf/GTI VI :: 2013 - Rubbing Noise When Braking

I have a 2013 gti and just installed my new koni coils. Install went great car looks good everything was great until I test drove it. I am getting a very faint rubbing noise I would call it only while braking! Tires are not rubbing anywhere in the fender and all lines from the brakes are clear. The rubbing noise is only coming from the driver front side and like I said only while braking. I have triple checked all of my bolts and everything is tight.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2007 - Loud Valve Tap After Oil Changed

2007 Sonata GLS 2.4 liter, 145,000 mostly-highway miles.I have a P2187 OBD code, which means an upstream O2 sensor. It's on order, should be arriving in a few days. The sensor has been bad for about a month, but I just recently ordered it.BUT... now I have a fairly loud valve tap; this is tapping whether the engine is cold or hot. A few weeks ago I changed my oil; put in hi-mileage oil (Pennzoil maybe? I remember it was a gold container) and a Fram oil filter (I noticed a number of people on here saying to definitely not use Fram).

I checked the codes again (I was thinking maybe a camshaft position sensor) but I still only have the P2187.This model has a chain, not a belt. So a few questions: Could having a bad O2 sensor (and hence running lean) have caused the tapping?I was thinking of doing an engine flush, then putting in some Lucas along w/synthetic and a new filter.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2013 - Rubbing Type Noise In Driver Side Front When Braking And Turning Right

I have a 2013 Elantra. There is a rubbing type noise in the driver front when braking and turning right. It only rubs(catches) in one spot. Almost like a pulsation, however doesn't pulsate. Hard to describe. Has a new wheel bearing. There are new pads and rotors (two sets of rotors). Took to my Hyundai dealer today. They can't find anything visible. They said only option is to start adjusting/replacing parts as trial and error.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Shifting Rough Intermittently - Changed Fluid

I drive an 06 Sonata with the 2.4L. I have put about 25,000 miles on the car and since then I have changed the tranny fluid 3 times due to it shifting rough. I will change the fluid and it will shift smooth for about 2 or 3 months then it will start to shift roughly again. What I could do or what the problem could be?

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Changed Brake Pads And Pedal Hits Floor?

So I took the pads off and saw pistons that push caliper against rotor were to far out to install new pads. (rear pads were still intact, both front pads were out when i pumped) So im pumped the brakes thinking it would reset them and alls it did was push the fronts out more.. I noticed fluid leaked out of the pistons after fully pushing them out.

After seeing that pushing the pedal only pushed them out and didn't reset them, i pryed them in with a C wrench. Was quite difficult but managed to do it. Note I only did this on the front pads..

Rear was just fine, piston went back in easily. I filled brake fluid fully and still does it - Now pedal hits the floor when i first hit it and seems very light when braking.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Ticking Sound At Startup For 1 To 2 Seconds - Filter Changed

I recently bought a 2006 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 V6. Had another issue related to the rear wheel, which I fixed. Today, I changed the oil filter on the car (along with the oil). I have heard this engine noise before, but with the cover off it appears a little louder. It's basically a ticking sound.

The engine uses no oil, and has no other leaks. It has some noise on startup for maybe 1-2 seconds (like a loud lifter or something, but it goes away in less than 2 seconds, and at the same time the oil light goes out). I changed the filter today because I was told that a leaky gasket could result in the Filter not retaining oil between starts, causes some minor knock for a few seconds.

But anyway, this other ticking noise seems to be regular, regardless of condition. I have heard some people say that some engine noise is normal for this engine, but how about this?

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2009 - Rubbing Sound From Right Rear

My 2009 Sonata has developed a 'rubbing' sound that seems to be coming from the right rear wheel. The brakes are new, the rotors are fine, there are no marks on the tire or wheel. This sound only shows up when I apply the brakes and generally at slowing speeds. If I press the brake pedal down hard the sound doesn't emit. We have checked suspension, brakes, rotors, tire and wheel.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Rubbing / Grinding During Deceleration At Low Speed

2006 Sonata GLS V6, 105K miles

I have a weird rubbing/grinding noise that seems to be coming from the front, passenger side of my car. It's a very weird rubbing/grinding noise, almost rubber like, but somewhat metallic. I recently got new tires and almost thought it had something to do with that, but that seems unlikely.

When decelerating from about 20 to 15 mph, the noise starts. It's a cyclic noise that is proportional to the speed of the car. It occurs while going in a straight line or while turning, but gets significantly louder in a turn. It instantly stops as soon as I hit the accelerator at any point.

Another important fact is that the noise does not happen when the car is cold. You have to drive about 5-10 minutes for it to start.

I just bought new KYB shocks/struts that I planned to install (probably not myself although I am tempted), so now is probably a good time to dig into the problem. I replaced brake pads and turned the rotors within the last year. I wouldn't be surprised if the suspension needs some additional TLC as I have not replaced any components and have owned it since it had 13K on the odometer.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2009 - Pop Or Clunk When Braking

I get a pop or a clunk from the front drivers side when I brake. It used to happen less often but I took it to the dealer to fix and they lubricated the caliper pins and now it happens frequently. I've read that the Sonata has some issues with the calipers. I would like to repair it and lubing the calipers made it worse.

Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: Slight Clicking / Rubbing Noise Coming From Steering Wheel Column

I ask this because when on the hwy (60-70mph) you can feel some vibration in your hands. I can let the steering wheel go and it won't move a bit but when hands placed on it you can definitely feel the road, including bumps, and regardless of road conditions. Tires where balanced at 7500mi but it still happens. Regardless of temperature or PSI in the tire.

I thought we had electric/electronic steering and no hydraulics? Maybe unrelated but, when turning in my driveway, very slow, I can hear a slight clicking (maybe rubbing) noise coming from the steering wheel column. Everything else has to be silent to be able to hear it.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Wheel Shakes When Braking At Speeds Of 80 Plus

My 06 sonata's steering wheel recently started shaking when I am braking from speeds of 80+ also a little when going down really steep hills. This happened once before when I got new front tires because the tire shop didn't balance the tires correctly. I know it could also mean warped rotors but in my experience rotors only become warped when you drive them with really low pads. Btw the car has 46k miles on it, and it is a 3.3 liter v6 gls.
