Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2008 - Headlights Too Bright / Not Angled Correctly?
I bought an '08 Elantra in October and I notice whenever I am driving on surface streets at night people are constantly flashing their lights at me as if I have my brights on. I don't. At first I thought it might be a coincidence and maybe they were trying to warn me about cops or something, but it happens way too often. On a 10-15 minute drive I get flashed 4-6 times on average.
I've started paying more attention to my headlights since I've realize they might have an issue and at first I thought they might just be too bright, but I do notice that I can see into the back of peoples' cars much more clearly than I can when I'm in other peoples' cars.
As far as I know they're stock headlights. Were they too bright or did they just need to have their angle adjusted? How hard is it to do that and is it expensive?
Prius V :: 2013 - Headlights Are Angled Low?
My 2013 Prius v headlights are angled low. I went to the dealer who did check them but said there is nothing they can do. I find them dangerous and am constantly needing to switch from low to high beams.

Recently got the car and after my first wash, there was alot of water inside the headlight then both my low beams went out. The next day, one of them came back on and i tested the other side with a new bulb but still no luck. What should i look in this situation? 2008 model
View 3 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Low Beams Keep Going Out
Recently i replaced the old lo beams on my 06 Sonata for some brighter ones. Roughly a week later while driving home on the freeway both lo beams went out. I noticed when this happened that the ESC, ESC (Off) and green headlamp lights all came on and stayed on for several seconds.
I replaced the bulbs after reading that if you leave the lights in the "ON" position while starting the car there is a risk of them blowing out sooner. I left them in the "OFF" position for about a week, but they blew out again. I've checked the fuses which all appear to be in very new condition.
My searches have lead me to the same solution (replace the bulbs) over and over.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Fog Lamps On Without Low Beams
I'm trying to get my fog lamps to turn on when my parking lights are on and low beams are off. I obviously want the foggies to be on when the low beams are on as well, but mostly I'd like to have the fogs and parking lamps on in tandem. Not illegal here in Illinois (not that I'd care anyway...there's enough corruption in the state to overlook such little things).
How to make this happen without a) voiding any warranty, melting anything, and c) blowing any fuses? Pictures would be most useful.
I'm hoping to make an easy fix (take wire A out here, put in slot B here, etc) so that my Sonata looks a little more...unique.
Oh yeah, 2010 Sonata V6 Limited.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: No High Beams Working
I replaced the high beam headlight bulbs in my 09 Sonata, resulting in no high beams working at all. Took out the new and put the old ones back in. Still not working. Checked all the fuses, and the relays. No problems there.
View 3 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: How To Adjust High Beams
For some reason, the search button isn't working. Anyhow though, I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the high beams on the Sonata? I know how to adjust the low beams but am at a loss regarding the high beams---the owner's manual only tells about how to adjust the low beams.
View 7 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: How To Switch From Low To High Beams
Just purchased a 2009 Sonata and the dealer did not give me an owners manual. In a recent phone call he promised to be mailing one so with that said I've looked on countless forums about this tedious issue I am having. I can't seem to figure out how to turn my high beams on. All other lights are working correctly and from a diagram i read online its like any standard high beam, just pull the lever forward. I've tried every which way but can't even get the light on dash to turn on telling me the high beams are even available. I clearly see them in the front of my car. And driving at night they would make a big difference on those back roads.

Going to ask what is likely a dumb question........ Just had my bulbs and ballast replaced under warranty and tonight was the first time I drove at dark and they seemed like they were pointed at the ground. I couldnt see more than what seemed like 20 feet in front of me(might be a slight exaggeration but not alot really), driver was worse than the passenger by a bit.
View 4 RepliesLexus GS 2006-11 :: 2008 GS460 Is Pulling To The Left Even After Alignment
Like the title says my 08 gs460 is pulling to the left, the steering wheel has to be slightly to the left for me to go straight, if I straighten the wheel out it goes off to the right, it has only been doing this the past two weeks or so. I went to Lexus and they agreed it was pulling and so they did an alignment, drove home, no change whatsoever, so I'm wondering what else it could be.

I gotta problem with my headlights. they're too low and I tried to raise them with the adjustment screws but they won't move up no matter how long I crank em... Plus the high beams are also aimed low. Does the adjustment screws both the low and high beams?

View 8 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights Would Not Turn On At All
I have a 2010 sonata GLS which just turned a year old today. About a month or so ago I bought a 8000K HID kit. Its been working fine but the other night i went to leave a friends house and my headlights would not turn on at all. I replaced the fuse and still nothing. All the wiring is fine on the kit and inside the harness and the headlight. I don't know what to do. I have 2500K yellow high beams and I've been driving with them for the last few days but they blind people and i hate driving with them on. This didn't start until the day i took the car to the dealer for an oil change. what should i do?

View 2 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights Not Aimed Correctly
Just purchased a 2007 Sonata Limited from an original owner. Love the car so far and generally super-pleased with my purchase. However, I noticed last night, while driving it at night on highway for the first time, that the headlights (low beams) didn't look like they were aligned correctly. I could see a cutoff showing as a shadow and that looked like the lights were partly being obscured on the bottom half. It seemed more prevalent with the driver-side headlight.
I took it to a local dealership service center (rhymes with Bitz) and the service guy claimed that nothing could be done about it. It is just this way. I figure I'll get a second opinion 'cause it sounded like BS, but I wanted to at least ask on here about this.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: How To Adjust Headlights After HID Conversion
Installed a HID conversion kit last night and I was wondering how to adjust the headlights. I did use the adjustment knob on the back of the light unit but that only goes up and down. How about left and right?
View 1 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: 2007 - Both Headlights Suddenly Go Out
I have a 2007 Hyundia Sonata. Currently have a 7" after-market head unit, four after-market speakers and a sub that is currently not plugged in. I also put HIDs in the low beams. It has about 73,000 miles on it. I bought it when it had 36,000 about a year and a half ago.
The first time I noticed an issue was about 3-4 months ago. Both of my stock headlights went out at the same time. I checked all fuses, nothing blown. Odd right? I thought there might be something going on with the electric but I was like O.K. i guess i'll get new ones, i could use some brighter ones anyways. So I went with Sylvia SilverstarUltra's. These lasted 2-3 months before one went out. I didn't think at the time that this was connected to the previous problem because only one went out and I drive a LOT with my headlights on during the day and SilverStarUltras have a short life span. So I bought an HID kit off ebay (just the ballast and bulb, not really a 'kit'). I installed them on Jan 28th. Today, Feb. 25, they both went out. NOT COOL!
Electronics : Sometimes as I am driving the electronics in the car "de-surge" if you will. Another words, they seem as though they have less power, the interior lights dim, the fan for the heats slows. This happens only for a second and then returns to normal. It has happened a few time. I don't remember the stereo being effected however.
Sub : The sub on my speaker system. A couple of months or so ago I noticed that my sub on my speaker system had stopped working. It was installed late last summer. I investigated and found no potential short, the ground was secure, and no fuses were blown. I didn't even think this could be related to everything else until today, but it kinda seems like it might be.
I was wondering if maybe I had created a short of some type when installing the stereo system. However nothing in the stereo system seems to be effect besides the sub. Which gets it's power directly from the battery, not the stereo system.
I read on another thread about a older Elantra that had this problem and someone mentioned that it could be the regulator in the alternator going bad and intermittently outputting too much voltage. Although I don't know why that would make the fan and lights in the car slow/dim. I'm currently trying to find someone who can lend me a voltmeter.
How I could locate an electrical problem with my stereo install, or elsewhere in my car?
Prius (2010-12) :: Headlights Low Beams Out?
I noticed tonight that my low beams are both out, and they were both working yesterday. Fuse #19, a 40A in a cluster of two 30A fuses appears fine when I look at it AND my horn and backup lights work just fine too. In the owner's manual it say that fuse position #19 controls the low beams and the horn (which is working) and the backup lights. SO, that says to me the fuse is ok because the other items are working.
FWIW, I can use the high beams, but recognize they're on a different fuse anyway. Also, I replaced BOTH headlamps with new Sylvania bulbs about 6 months ago when one of them went out. Could both low beam headlamps have burned out at the same time???? Is there some other fuse that controls them both other than the #19 fuse inside the engine compartment? Could this also be a problem in the control stalk switch on the steering console?
