Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights Out (Both Low And High Beam)
Last week I smelled something burning when I arrived home. I looked around the car and did not see any smoke. I noticed the other night that I had no headlights (low or hi beam) The fog light work fine. No fuses are out.
View 2 RepliesSonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: How To Take Out Low Beam Headlights
I bought some new bulbs for the headlights and tried to install them today. I couldn't get the bulb to come out. The manual doesn't really show how to get it out. I know how to take the wire out and that;s about it. How to take the headlight out.
View 1 RepliesPassat (B6) :: 2006 - How To Adjust The Low Beam Headlights
How do you adjust the low beam headlights for a 06 Passat? I have found the vertical adjustment now I'm trying to find the horizontal adjustment. For some reason the lights are aimed way out to either the left or the right. Has been like this since I bought the car. Had the car a month, only 42,000 and it's already been in the shop 3 times. Everything from ignition coil, to steering column and comfort control module.
View 5 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: Headlights Operates In Low But Not High Beam
08 accent passenger headlight was noticed to not be operating while in low beam. Switched to high beam- it works, but still no low beam.
First instinct was replace the bulb. Low beam works but now.. high beam doesn't?? Bulbs are fine, brand new out of the box and driver's side works like a charm. Bright as heck... passenger's side isn't quite as bright If that's any relation to the problem.
Checked the fuses, they're all good. Made sure bulb was placed in secure. Filament didn't get bounced around either. Was poking around online and seems it could be the relay. Manual doesn't seem to list a relay for the headlights or am I not reading it right?
Buick - LaCrosse :: 2006 - Low Beam Headlights Stopped Working
I have a 2006 Buick LaCrosse. The low beam headlights have stopped working. I thought that maybe the bulbs needed changed (since I usually have to change them every 6 months) but after changing one with a brand new bulb, it still doesn't work. The "old" bulb looks ok. The fuses are also good (I checked them with a multimeter.) The only thing that I see in my shop manual is something about the ambient light sensor. If this has gone bad, would that cause the low beams to not work? The high beams work fine. The low beams will not work with the headlight switch in the "auto" or "on" position. I don't see any DRL relay or fuse in this car.
View 17 RepliesLexus RC F 2015+ :: Low-beam Triple LED Headlights Aimed Way Too Low But High-beam Okay
My car is fully stock, with all options available to me (cold weather package not available here). The low-beam triple-LED headlights are aimed way too low compared to all my previous cars, and where they should be. BUT high-beam is aimed properly. So if I adjust the low-beams up, my high-beams might end up lighting up the trees, not the road.
If adjust the headlights up on a fully stock car (not lowered at the front)? Are the high beams still lighting up the road fine? And if you can be specific as the number of turns on the screwdriver, it'd be good too to have an initial adjustment reference.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Passenger Side Low Beam Receiving Only 8v
Having some difficulties with my passenger side low beam. I replaced the bulb with one known to work but it wouldn't come on. Keep in mind the driver side works. Fuse if fine and I swapped relays but it still wouldn't come on. Took a multimeter to both sides; driver side reads 12v and works but the passenger side reads anywhere between 8-10v and does not work. I'm really stumped on this as all other lights work fine and the wiring in the engine bay seems fine.
I'm thinking as a last resort I might figure out how to wire a relay behind the pass side lamp using the 8 volts the wire receives to switch the relay on then run a new 12v wire from the fuse box to power the low beam when the relay activates. This would really be a last resort scenario though if it would even work.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2009 - Changing Low Beam Headlight Bulb?
Are there any 2009 Sonata owners that's changed the low beam headligh bulb themselves? I need specific directions for installing. The manual instructions are not very clear.
View 10 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Low Beam Fuse Blows Instantly Upon Replacement
Background: Sonata 2009 Limited. 165K Miles. Original factory installed everything. Chicago area.
Last week I drove to the mall in the snow. Headlights worked fine. Upon leaving the mall I realized that my low beam headlights were not working.
Purchased and installed one low beam headlight bulb, on the slim chance that both of them simply burned out at the same time. It didn't come on.
Results of an internet search indicated that the fuse might be blown. I pulled the 20amp Low Beam headlight fuse and sure enough it was bad. Put in a new fuse. Turned on the headlights and it blew instantly.
Have been driving with the high-beams the past 5 days. Only one car has "blinked" at me, so driving with the high-beams isn't a problem. Probably because there are so many cars with really bright low-beam headlights these days.
However, I would like some guidance to getting this problem resolved. What are the most likely reasons for the low-beam headlight fuse blowing instantly like this?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights Not Aimed Right
I gotta problem with my headlights. they're too low and I tried to raise them with the adjustment screws but they won't move up no matter how long I crank em... Plus the high beams are also aimed low. Does the adjustment screws both the low and high beams?
View 1 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights Would Not Turn On At All
I have a 2010 sonata GLS which just turned a year old today. About a month or so ago I bought a 8000K HID kit. Its been working fine but the other night i went to leave a friends house and my headlights would not turn on at all. I replaced the fuse and still nothing. All the wiring is fine on the kit and inside the harness and the headlight. I don't know what to do. I have 2500K yellow high beams and I've been driving with them for the last few days but they blind people and i hate driving with them on. This didn't start until the day i took the car to the dealer for an oil change. what should i do?
View 1 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights Not Aimed Correctly
Just purchased a 2007 Sonata Limited from an original owner. Love the car so far and generally super-pleased with my purchase. However, I noticed last night, while driving it at night on highway for the first time, that the headlights (low beams) didn't look like they were aligned correctly. I could see a cutoff showing as a shadow and that looked like the lights were partly being obscured on the bottom half. It seemed more prevalent with the driver-side headlight.
I took it to a local dealership service center (rhymes with Bitz) and the service guy claimed that nothing could be done about it. It is just this way. I figure I'll get a second opinion 'cause it sounded like BS, but I wanted to at least ask on here about this.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: How To Adjust Headlights After HID Conversion
Installed a HID conversion kit last night and I was wondering how to adjust the headlights. I did use the adjustment knob on the back of the light unit but that only goes up and down. How about left and right?
View 1 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: 2007 - Both Headlights Suddenly Go Out
I have a 2007 Hyundia Sonata. Currently have a 7" after-market head unit, four after-market speakers and a sub that is currently not plugged in. I also put HIDs in the low beams. It has about 73,000 miles on it. I bought it when it had 36,000 about a year and a half ago.
The first time I noticed an issue was about 3-4 months ago. Both of my stock headlights went out at the same time. I checked all fuses, nothing blown. Odd right? I thought there might be something going on with the electric but I was like O.K. i guess i'll get new ones, i could use some brighter ones anyways. So I went with Sylvia SilverstarUltra's. These lasted 2-3 months before one went out. I didn't think at the time that this was connected to the previous problem because only one went out and I drive a LOT with my headlights on during the day and SilverStarUltras have a short life span. So I bought an HID kit off ebay (just the ballast and bulb, not really a 'kit'). I installed them on Jan 28th. Today, Feb. 25, they both went out. NOT COOL!
Electronics : Sometimes as I am driving the electronics in the car "de-surge" if you will. Another words, they seem as though they have less power, the interior lights dim, the fan for the heats slows. This happens only for a second and then returns to normal. It has happened a few time. I don't remember the stereo being effected however.
Sub : The sub on my speaker system. A couple of months or so ago I noticed that my sub on my speaker system had stopped working. It was installed late last summer. I investigated and found no potential short, the ground was secure, and no fuses were blown. I didn't even think this could be related to everything else until today, but it kinda seems like it might be.
I was wondering if maybe I had created a short of some type when installing the stereo system. However nothing in the stereo system seems to be effect besides the sub. Which gets it's power directly from the battery, not the stereo system.
I read on another thread about a older Elantra that had this problem and someone mentioned that it could be the regulator in the alternator going bad and intermittently outputting too much voltage. Although I don't know why that would make the fan and lights in the car slow/dim. I'm currently trying to find someone who can lend me a voltmeter.
How I could locate an electrical problem with my stereo install, or elsewhere in my car?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights / Interior Lighting Flickering
Past week I have noticed a flicker on all lighting (head/taillights, interior lights) on my '06 Sonata (4cyl). Seems to be an intermittent problem, as one time in three there is no flicker, and everything seems to be fine.
Yesterday, when pulling into my driveway, I momentarily lost all lighting/radio/fan for what seemed to me a full second and a half before everything "came back on".
I've checked fuses, battery cables (batty is new, 6mos)... Is this alternator related? What else should I be looking at? My Sonata has been bulletproof. No mechanical issues whatsoever....
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights Wiggle Most Noticeable When On Highway?
Is it normal that while driving I can see my headlights wiggling? I have only noticed it on the highway and it is on all types of highway surfaces. I wouldn't doubt it if it was also happening on regular streets as well.
What I mean is that while driving at night on the highway if I look at highway signs or big rigs in front of my car I can see the lights shining from my headlights and they are shaking like crazy.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Headlights Would Stay Bright / Then Dim And Brighten Up Again
I have a 2006 Sonata, last night I was driving and when using my high beam headlights they would stay bright and then dim then brighten up again. The battery has not been replaced since I have had this car, but I didn't know if it could be the battery, alternator or maybe the headlights? They work fine on regular beam, no dimming on this setting.
View 2 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Moisture On Headlights Inside The Lens
I recently noticed both of my headlights had a little bit of moisture inside the lens. I'm not sure if it had to do with the HID installation. I remembered I had to make holes on the dust cap but I made sure I closed up the holes with electrical tape after I was done.
Recently (couple hours later) I went to check on the headlights, the passenger side lens seems like it evaporated but the driver side lens has a minor streak of moisture at the bottom. I took pix but i cant upload through my phone. I will post them up on Monday. The climate is constantly changing here in NYC because of the fall season.
Could it be the heat from the HID bulb and the humidity from outside?
