Passat (B5) :: Alarm Chirping Every Two Or Three Minutes Usually At Night
My passat has an alarm that will begin chirping every two or three minutes usually in the middle of the night and parked under my bedroom. I unlock doors with keyless remote and the doors will relock themselves after about a minute sometimes immediately. The only way to get this chirping to stop is to open the door of the car, sets off alarm and then lock system with the key. If I try to open the windows with the key the windows will only go down a inch or so and the locks will engage.
This will also happen when I do not lock the vehicle and set the alarm. I am willing to disengage the chirping entirely as I am not an alarm fan, especially now at 3AM resetting my car alarm. Typically this happens after the vehicle has been parked for 4-5 hours. If this system is pneumatic could there be a leak?

Passat (B5) :: Losing About Half Quart Of Coolant Every Week
I'm pretty new but we have an '02 Passat (68K miles) that has been pretty trouble free until lately. I'm losing about a 1/2 quart of coolant every week to 10 days; just enough for the coolant light to come on. The car never overheats and the oil looks clean (not milky). But I can't find the leak . I do see some dirt and grime build up on the front of the engine as well at the rear of the engine near the tranny, but nothing definite..

I have a 2012 Passat with RNS510 nav radio and it just started losing Sat Nav reception. I will Start it up and it will have say 5-7 satellites out 10 and slowly the number will drop to 0 and sometimes the nav will show me off road and in fields sometimes in another city. I was told it was the antenna.

I have a 2002 Passat 1.8T. It has been acting funny for a couple weeks now. It seems to be missing, then last night I took off from a four way stop and the engine light started to blink and the car was loosing power and not really taking any throttle. I managed to get it into a parking lot then I popped the hood and first noticed the inside of the turbo was lit up bright red. Now I dont know if this was cause from me trying to throttle it to get into the parking lot while it was loosing power or if my problem is the turbo or maybe an exhaust issue. I hooked up the diagnostic tool and the only thing read was P0303 for cylinder 3 so I dont know if the misfire was from the loosing power or if this is my issue.

I have a B6 passat --- left the cat alone which comes off the turbo but cut out the "mid muffler" or scrubber right before the sensor and prior to the mufflers.
Noticed no turbo lag --- car seems fast and much smoother across the power band BUT doesn't give me that kick anymore. Must I flash the computer as well?
My engineering friend said that since the air flow is now faster than the engine runs hotter and ill prob stress the engine and burn out my cat much quicker... comments!?
Also do I need to put in a diverter pipe to satisfy the sensor --- so far no check engine but I dread the day...
Any Way To Dim Navigation Screen At Night?
Is there any way to dim the nav screen at night? I have the Limited with Tech package.

My speedometer is kicking on and off, it mainly does it at night when the lights are on, when this happens the transmission will gear down but If you hit the dash it will come back on and the transmission will gear back up. I have done so much I don't know what else to try.

The lights on the speedometer, gas gauge, gear shift, etc. did not seem to be working, but all of my system warning lights (Traction, Brake, etc) seemed to be fine. While driving at night all of a sudden the central LCD panel (Odometer) shut down. The right panel is perfectly fine.
