Phaeton :: 2006 V8 Alarm Goes Off Spontaneously
I have a 2006 V8 Phaeton and about 4 months ago the car alarm has begun to go off spontaneously while the car is parked. The dealer found no fault codes but concluded that my batteries needed replacement (~60K miles). I had both batteries replaced and that seemed to have solved the problem for awhile, but now it was begun again.

Happened 2 days ago, just as it started to rain. The sunroof opened about 15 cm, then just as I was starting to try to close it, it then closed itself by reversing smoothly.
Since then the sun roof has operated normally. I have waited for this problem to repeat, but it hasn't. For the first time, I tried to do a search, but failed using the key words "Sun Roof" and "moon roof". Since I know there has been several threads regarding the repair of the opening dial using a Bic pen casing, I know I am performing the search incorrectly. Issue only has happened once, and my hands were nowhere near the opening dial.
Honda - Odyssey :: Brakes Spontaneously Applied While Accelerating
We have a 2007 Honda Odyssey with 76,000 miles. In December 2012 we had been driving for approximately 3-4 minutes, exiting onto the highway and accelerating to reach 65 miles per hour. When we reached approximately 55-60 MPH and were still accelerating the car spontaneously applied the brakes for approximately 3 seconds, lurching us forward. We stopped accelerating and began to pull over. It again spontaneously braked as we were slowing down. We attempted to drive slowly along the side of the road, to get to the next exit, and it happened again. Once we were finally able to stop in a safe place we turned off the car. We turned the car back on and it did not do it again.
We took the car to the dealer and they only found one code - the steering sensor. They re-calibrated it but were not convinced that was the problem. Sure enough, approximately two months later the same thing happened. We were not going quite as fast and it did not lurch quite as severe. After it did this three times i was at a stop light and pushed the switch to turn the VSA off. It did not occur again. Took it to the dealer and they found no codes. They drove 17 miles and could not duplicate the problem. The weather conditions both times were approximately 30-40 degrees with some snow or wetness on the ground from prior precipitation. The dealer continues to say there is no problem because it shows no code and they can't replicate the problem.
Subaru - Forester :: Horn Starts Honking And Lights Flashing Spontaneously
My car horn starts honking and the lights start flashing, spontaneously. The neighbors are going to kill me if I don't die of sleep deprivation first. The problem started a few minutes after 6 a.m. yesterday, and stopped when I turned the car on I left the car running in the driveway (illegally) and then cut it off after about 30 minutes, and all was quiet until around 8:45 a.m., when it started again. The only way I can get it to stop is to press the UNLOCK button on the car's remote; but that doesn't make it quit for good, sometimes only makes it quit for a few seconds.
Anyway, I drove the car to work and it was nice and quiet all day. (I went by the mechanic's on the way to work and had to set an appt. for Monday but I don't think I can stand it until then. This morning the honking/flashing began at 1:52 a.m. I pushed the remote. It stopped until 2:08. It kind of went like that until I finally started up the car. It is now emitting carbon and I am a zombie. What can I disable or override until a mechanic can take care of this? Is it a mechanical problem? A goofed-up sensor? Is this tied to a computer chip problem?

Quick question regarding the daytime running lamps. It appears there is no difference when the DRL's are on or when the front headlamps are illuminated at night. Even if I turn the switch to off, and the DRL's are on, it looks no different then when the headlights are on. Is this normal? Are the DRL's just the headlamps turned on or are they normally the small incandescent light as found on lesser VW's?

I'm having a strange problem with my 2011 Elantra. Twice this month, I've gotten up in the morning and the hazard lights are on. The first time, I thought it was the parking lights and I'd left the door ajar but I went out and checked all entry points and everything was secure, so I checked interior lights and everything was off so I started the car, all good and when I turned it off, the lights went out but an hour later when I went out to leave for work, car barely started.
Since that time, I've paid attention to the lights. They are always off when I leave the car. This morning, lights are on again. Nothing will turn them off except for starting the car. I'm afraid that the repetitive drain on my battery will soon kill it.

My 2001 Chrysler Concorde courtesy lights come on mysteriously in the middle of the night? I put my slippers on and open and lock the doors and they go out okay but pop on again. Is this a short in the wiring harness to one of the doors?? Can I fix it myself? Can I pull a fuse and still operate the car? My battery is completely drained when I fly out of town.

My running lights (not sure if correct term, I'm talking about the tail lights' illumination that stays on while you drive at night) are not working. My headlights and parking lights do work, and my brake lights and turning signals also work. I have put in a brand new brake light switch and checked every fuse and relay, but no luck.

They daylight running ones are one, but the actual headlights used for night-time use don't come on automatically. I'm able to turn the on automatically by just turning the switch, but I'm just curious why they aren't turning on automatically. I mean they're supposed to right, since its a standard feature nowadays?

I have noticed that all of my switches light up at night with a greenish glow. The only ones that don't are the mirror control switches and the dash light control bright and dim switch. Its hard to see these switches at night because its in dark side to the left of the steering wheel . The 120 volt switch will light up when you turn it on but there is no back light to any of the switches I mentioned . If they are supposed to light up then my truck needs to have the bulbs replaced.. If they are not supposed to light then I will look no further

This morning, while getting ready for work, my car's alarm sounded. I ran outside in the rain, and it was beeping and flashing, but there was no one around. I have a 2008 Prius and the for about 2 weeks now it has been spontaneously resetting its memory. I turn the car off as normal, the next time I turn it on it tells me I have no gas, the MPG and Miles have reset, all my radio station presets are cleared. It started after I installed a subwoofer ( but I also installed it a couple weeks after I got it ) I thought the sub was draining the battery, but the car starts fine and shows the battery is one bar from full. So I ruled that out.

Nissan Pathfinder SE-V6 4x4 My blinkers quit working, but flashers still come on. All 3 brake lights also went out but tail lights still work. when the car is cranked and blinker is on there is a buzzing (alert) sound and the oil temp light comes up on the dash, there is no sound when the key is in the on position, only when it is cranked. Occasionally there is a crackle through the speakers that usually goes away when I turn it off. I don't know if the last part is relevant but I figured I would put it in anyway. Is this an easy fix or are there serious electrical problems?
