Passat (B6) :: Steering / Traction Light Comfort Features Lost After Battery Disconnected
Disconnected my battery for about 15 minutes to wire up HIDs. Couldn't put them in due to the nut not coming off the battery bolt. tightened battery and started car. dash has amber steering light on and traction light. when i put it in reverse (AT) it banged into gear, then put in "manual mode" trans jumped and banged into 3rd gear. also noticed 1 touch windows not working. What might have gone wrong from a simple battery disconnect. no additional wires were hooked up to the car or did i forget to reset something.

Saw the 2013 Jetta commercial with the dog and in the last scene the owner closes all windows via the exterior driver door handle.
Is this a function available on the Passat? I tried it with no success.
Passat (B6) :: 2006 - Compass Has Disappeared
Recently had the car in the dealership for the OY Recall (software). Now, my compass has disappeared and it is not in the MFD Setup? I have tried searching but have come up with no results. Dealership said it the compass module is installed in the trunk near the passenger rear storage compartment and to clear out the trunk if it is overloaded-nothing is in my trunk.

I own 2006 vw passat 2.0T with 10-speaker dynaudio system. One day my sound disappeared completely, without any warnings. I found an amp 3C0-035-456-A under the driver seat. I tried to bypass amplifier directly to one of the speaker (midrange). the sound came on in that speaker. Which makes me believe that my amp died. On the other hand i checked the fuses and even voltages. Green connector to amp gets 3 rails 9 of voltage supply. Each of them measured as 2.8V, which doesn't add up to 12V no how.( so maybe its a voltage problem i'm not sure).

The compass on my car suddenly disappeared, and I need to check if the fuse has blown out. Unfortunately the fuse box diagram in the owners manual does not match up at all with the actual fuse box (had a similar problem previously with the 12volt outlet inside the car).
Which is the correct fuse location? 2006 2.0T .....
Tried calling my local dealer, and they gave me the standard answer: Bring it in and we will take a look at it... I find it ridiculous that they cannot just let me know the fuse location, given that they know that the owners manual is incorrect !!!
Phaeton :: Display Gone Blank / All Touch Screen Features Available
RNS810 ... My display went blank even though all the touch screen features are available (but hidden from view). Phoned VW who say there is a software update to address the blank screen issue - will try and get it done tomorrow.

I have a 2009 SEL (NA) that doesnt have the convenience settings on the MFD, I have read this can be enabled at the dealership or through VAG-Com. Although my user manual states I can access it (which i cant) should i take this up with the dealer to enable the feature?

I just got a new battery installed from Walmart for my 2007 Avalon. After replacing the battery I am experiencing a wide variety of electrical problems. The car starts fine that's not the problem. Here's a lost of all of the problems:
Navigation display now goes I wired directions...it used to follow the direction the car was going
Passenger window does not work at all
Driver side window works but the auto function does not work
Sun roof auto feature does not work so you have to hold the button the whole time as opposed to just pressing it once
What could have caused this?? I haven't tried cleaning the terminals or anything yet.
Golf/GTI VII :: Convenience Windows Down Function Not Working
New GTI. I can manually put all 4 windows down and open the sunroof then get them all to CLOSE by holding the lock slot on the door but I simply cannot get them all to open at once holding down the driver window switch. I'm doing exactly what the manual states to do. With ignition off. But with power either on or off this doesn't work for me.

The 'convenience closing' feature on my Phaeton - as described in the two excerpts from the owner manual posted below - is not working. I can't close or open the windows using the key blade in the driver door lock, and I can't close or open them by pressing on the keyless access locking button on the driver door handle.
This has both myself and the Phaeton tech at my VW dealer perplexed. The Phaeton demonstrator at the dealership does not perform any of these functions either.
This feature works on your Phaeton? I am especially interested to hear from folks who have used a diagnostic scan tool (VAS 5052 or VAG-COM) to turn off unwanted chimes and buzzers. Right now I don't know if I have a problem with the car, a problem with the coding or adaptation of the car, or if the NAR Phaetons just don't perform as the owner manual describes them.
Lexus IS 2014+ :: Certain Navigation And Phone Features Aren't Available / Prohibited While Driving
So I picked up the IS 350 Fsport and was getting to know it while I peruse certain sections of the manuals. I have not read them front to back, lol.
I thought it was a bug but come to find out that certain navigation and phone features are not available when the vehicle is moving. The options are greyed out and unselectable. For example entering an address and web search are prohibited options while the car is moving. When the car stops, they become avalable.
Same thing for POI search, only edestination and category are available while moving. While navigating if you choose to see the turn by turn for the route under options, only the first three of the next turns will display when moving.
The phone call history is available and favorite contacs are available but contacts are unavailable. I guess they think the voice recognition is good enough substitute. Geeze, they don' know some of my contacts names and their pronunciation. Hard enought for a human to get some of those correct let alone a nav system.
In the navigation manual under safety on p5 it says "For your safety, some functions may become inoperable when driving. Unavailable screen buttons are dimmed. Only when the vehicle is not moving, can the destination and route selection be done. (of course they don't list all the options unavailable while driving, at lease not in safety)
Golf VI R :: Convenience Settings Disabled While Using Spare Keys
I recently noticed that using my spare keys w/ my R disabled my vagcom tricks / convenience settings I had done. When going back to my original keys I use 99% of the time, these vagcom tricks become active again w/ no problem. I've gotten the following vagcom tweaks done to my '13 Golf R;
- convenience feature to open and close windows using key
- 4 convenience blinks (instead of 3) when switching lanes
- horn disabled when locking the car
Touareg :: Low Tire Pressure Warning - MFI Stuck In Convenience Menu?
OK, so I started the T and got the low tire pressure warning. I began to cycle through the MFI to see which tire was low and poof! I was in the convenience setup sub-menu. Now that's all I get. No other menus. I've tried everything I can and it seems to stay that way. been about a week now.

I have a 2009 F 350 6.4, fully deleted with a Mini Maxx Tuner , CAC pipe, and CCV mod, other than that the truck is stock. I have put 100,000 miles on the truck and haven't had any real problems but recently that has changed. My 4x4 doesn't work, Traction Control is gone, Tow Haul mode is gone, Cruise Control gone, basically everything controlled by a button is now gone.If it was one of these issues and not everything at once I would check for fuses, broken wires, etc... But, everything stopped working at once. Not having traction control or cruise control, but I tow heavy all the time so tow haul is a must as it's the only thing that engages the engine brake.

'01 Prius with ~276K miles on it. (Not quite as old as it sounds...new traction battery at ~140K miles, basically new engine ~50K miles ago) The last month or two it has been driving great, getting above 50 mpg in the summer here in NC. However, every now and then I will notice while driving that the car will "catch," feel like something is causing it to decelerate for 2-3 seconds, feels like it kicks completely to the traction battery, and then I will accelerate and knock it out of whatever it was doing.
Well, this morning as I was driving, same thing -- maybe a second or two longer -- and the red triangle/warning light comes on out of nowhere. I drive it a couple of more miles, but it didn't feel like it was driving normally so I parked it. The person who I was going to meet come to where I was and the car sat there for about 7 hours.
As every worst possible scenario is going through my head during this time I am planning to tow the car somewhere (probably Taylor Automotive in Sanford, NC, a little more than an hour away from me), I get back to the car, turn it on and everything is normal. I was able to drive it about 15 miles back home and now I need to figure out my next move.
I would like to think it is a 12v battery issue -- not been changed in 6 years. It is giving some clues like last night when I shut the driver side door, normally the interior light should stay on a few seconds before cutting off, instead it cut off immediately...door locks are acting funny...anything that may drain the battery a little bit will cause a delay in the car starting the next time you turn the key.
I also wonder if it is an inverter issue. On our way to the beach a month ago when I pulled the car off the interstate for a break, left the car on and while the engine shut off I still heard a noise from the hood. Opened the hood and I believe the inverter was still running full blast. Never seen that before, nor again.
IS F (2008-2014) :: Volume Disappeared Suddenly
I just ran into the weirdest thing i have experienced with Lexus cars. I was driving today to work and listening to music not blasting it, and all of the sudden the volume disappears. I try to turn, but the volume numbers don't even appear, so i turn the radio, CD on off nothing. I even tried to push the voice command but not only did it not have volume but the prompt message didn't even come on. I tried to set a destination to see maybe the navi might talk but no luck. checked to see if menu vol was on and it was at the highest. Then when i got into my car tonight after work it started working, but in a few min again volume disappeared.

I have had a 2011 Camry XLE with Nav for about 6 months now. I have a small issue, however. I manually enter about 3 or 4 phone contacts into the system (I have no desire to copy all my contacts from my phone). After a few days the contacts will be gone. My wife and I both have iPhone 5's and they are both registered to the car. I don't know if this is an issue with a phone becoming "unconnected" and then "reconnected" or not.
