Golf IV R32 :: How To Remove / Install Haldex Controller
I searched but couldn't find any DIY on how to remove/install the haldex controller. Is it straight forward or any special tools needed? I know its very tight in there?

Passat (B5) :: Catalyst Codes PO422 And PO423
i know these are both catalyst codes. my car feels like it doesnt have any power past 4,000 rpms and im thinking that its because my cat is blocked and is screwing up everything. if i replace the cat do you think that will work?
View 1 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Warm Up Catalyst Codes P0421 And P0431
I just bought a 2002 2.8L Passat 4Motion. On the way home, the check engine light came on. My friend lent me his generic brand diag tool to scan that check engine light. It came up with two codes. The first one was:
P0421
Warm Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
The second code was:
P0431
Warm Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
What this means or what I need to do to fix it? Is it a matter of cleaning something or replacing something? If it's something I can figure out, I'll do it on my own. Mistakenly, I erased the code and now the light is gone--thought I was deleting the code from the handheld unit. I can't open my hood.
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: GS450h - P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2
Have the EML on on my GS450h, read the fault codes and I have 2 fault codes that are identical (P0430). I cleared the fault codes and it stays off for a day, then as soon as I go above 60mph the next day, it comes back on again, the faults are stored and not current codes. I've not noticed any MPG loss or loss of power whatsoever! So am I safe to assume its not the catalysts? Only other thing I could think of is an o2 sensor gone bad perhaps? I don't want to spend money really as I'm about to sell the car for a more economical one for my 150miles per day commute to work! Just had all 4 wheels refurbished too which set me back a fair amount, now this!
View 2 RepliesGolf IV R32 :: Haldex Pump Isn't Working
So my R's been FWD for a while now and I've been thinking with 147k on the clock it's the pump that failed but I want to be sure that's it before I buy the rebuild kit. A friend and I hooked up his vag-com yesterday to test the pump. We got a signal to the controller and could hear the pump run from sitting inside the car but it was very very quiet. From what he told me is that it should be louder like a fuel pump. So we pulled up the voltage readings and that's what you can see in the photo. It's only seeing .70v and normal functioning voltage should be between 11-15v.
Afterwards I stopped at my work and got it on a hoist to check all connectors in the back(controller and pump). None have any corrosion or moisture in them but I cleaned them up with some Di-electric cleaner for good measure. Would a bad pump give a voltage reading that low? If not then why isn't the pump getting the required voltage?
Phaeton :: Secondary Air Injection System Fault Codes
My 2006 W12 has been trouble free since taking delivery over a year and a half and 30K miles ago. Just broke 60K total miles over the weekend and the engine light came on. I have pasted the scan below. I cleared the codes and drove about 500 miles before the MIL reappeared. I have read this thread: [URL] ....
My first question is: Is there any harm in continuing to drive it?
I have visually inspected the secondary air injection system hoses and can't find anything glaring (no kinks, leaks, disconnections). I am open to taking the car to the dealership but I have low confidence in their diagnostic capabilities. I am fine with them doing work once we know what is wrong but I want to tell them what to do (replace a bunch of hoses for example). How to proceed?

Lexus GX 2010+ :: Codes P2440 And P2442 - Air Injection System Fault
I have a 2010 GX460 with about 81000 miles on it. I recently got the above codes and after researching it I decided to take apart the air injection valves, and also the motor to see what was going on.
Luckily these parts are very easy to access on our cars. Take the engine cover and front plastic cover off. The two valve are on either side of the cylinder head, and the pump will be on the left hand side, front of the engine bay.
I ordered two new valves, and ended up just cleaning out my pump.
Here are the Part Numbers:

Ford Aerostar :: Fault Codes From ABS System / Engine Cranks But Does Not Start
First, how can I get the fault codes from ABS system? I cannot find the connector from where to activate it. Looking for a picture where is it located, and how does it look letterike?
Second problem is with starting, occurs sometimes. I just crank the engine, but it doesn't start, when I play with gas pedal, then it will start with 2-3 cylinders, runs really rough for half a minute like this (I hold the gas pedal down, otherwise would die), then gradually gets better until normalizes. Some other time, starts and runs fine. It could happen both with cold or warm engine.

Can dealership diagnostic tools read ABS/ASR fault codes, or if those codes are even stored?

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2007 - ABS Fault Codes
As far as trouble shooting faults in the ABS - does it store fault codes and how can they be read ?
Daughter's 2007 Elantra has ABS symbol lit for a week, I took it to a car wash and used the high pressure spray to clean the wheel hub areas and that may have fixed the problem but interested if ABS fault codes are stored and can be read.
Lexus LS 2007+ :: PCS Fault On 2008 LS460L - Data Controller?
So I have a PCS fault on my 2008 LS460L and brought it to my local Lexus Dealership....They basically insist that the data controller is/may be causing the PCS fault.
In the meantime, I guess the most probable action is to disconnect the data controller and see if the problem goes away.....
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 5 Engine Fault Codes - Cam Position Sensor / Knock Sensor / Secondary Injection Pump And Mass Air Flow

View 9 RepliesPassat (B6) :: Cannot Get Steering Assist / ABS Fault Codes To Clear

Passat (B5) :: 2005 - Airbag Light On / No Fault Codes
I recently sent for a reset my airbag module, yes my car was in a collision, I replaced passenger airbag(only 1 airbag deployed). And reconnected the module. Using the VAG COM, I scanned the airbag module, shows no fault codes, but i still have a light.. now I'm thinking seatbelts and sensors maybe the problem. Where the sensors for a 2005 passat passenger dash airbag are located.

View 6 RepliesLexus GS 2006-11 :: Check Engine / VSC With A Bunch Of Fault Codes?
I picked up a 2007 GS350 AWD with a little under 60K miles a few weeks ago, I've been absolutely loving the car, but noticed the check engine light/check VSC came on this morning on a cold start; it also sounded a bit rough on idle. I have an Android to bluetooth OBDII scan tool for my other cars so I pulled the codes, and it's showing P0300, P1600, P1700, and P1800.
Searched the forums and nothing comes up for those specific codes. But the first couple of things that came up as culprits for check VSC were the gas cap and brake fluid; went out and bought an OEM gas cap and made sure the brake fluid was topped off this afternoon. I reset the faults and drove the car around, but the lights came back on about 15 miles later. It drives and shifts fine, but I still think it's a bit noisy at idle.
A little background on the car: The previous owner only drove it on weekends and for events here and there, hence the relatively low mileage. The car was sitting in his garage for almost a year before I bought it, he finally got rid of it because he wasn't using it. I grabbed it despite a higher asking price because of the mileage and how clean it looked, but now I'm a bit worried. Is this bad gas? Should I flush all of the fluids? MAF or other sensors? I'm a bit lost.
Camry :: Error Codes - Evaporative Emissions Control System Vent Control Circuit Fault
My check engine light has came on and I received these error codes
PO441 : Evaporative emissions control system incorrect purge flow.
PO 455 : Evaporative emissions control system pressure leak-large leak.
PO 446 : Evaporative emissions control system vent control circuit fault.
Also only my driver side fan is working, may be separate issue?
