Passat (B6) :: 2008 - How To Connect IPod To 3.5 Mm Jack
I have a 2008 Passat Lux with an ipod dock in my glove compartment which I would like to turn into an aux input if possible. There is no AUX input under my hand-rest so the ipod connector in my glove compartment seems to be the only way for me to listen to my music from my phone in the car. I have found several cables that convert IPod to 3.5mm jack (and hopeful vice-versa?) Will this work somehow or am I stuck with the ipod connector without any aux input?

View 1 RepliesPassat (B7) :: 2014 - Take Time To Warm Up - Bluetooth Won't Connect Without Restarting
so I just got a 2014 Passat S (with NAV) and I'm having some Bluetooth auto connection issues - only when I start my car to let it warm up for a few mins while I run back inside (I live in New England and leave the house at 5am when it's 5-10 degrees out). My fiance's Santa fe keeps an option on the screen that reads "could not connect to phone, re-try? Yes or No" and you can click yes and she's instantly connected. When I start my car to warm up for a few mins I've tried manually doing it when I get in the car under "paired devices" but it fails every time. I want to get a remote starter but I don't want to turn the car off then on again every time so my phone will connect. I have to turn the car off then turn it on and it will instantly connect. When I'm just getting in and going it's no problem.

I have an RCD-510 (touchscreen with no Nav) in my 2010 wagon. I have the AUX in the center counsel but want to add the iPhone adapter in the glove box. I'm having issues with VW by me. They cannot figure out what I need. They took it apart once and said there was no hook for the iPod cable. Also, I talked with VW headquarters and they said they wouldn't recommend trying to do it as I'd need new wire harnessing and a new "panel.". I was very confused by the panel comment. What is the part number I would need them to order?
View 9 RepliesGolf IV R32 :: DEQ Can't Connect To ECU Of Car
So picked my .:R up last week from out of state. Go to register it yesterday and find out DEQ can't connect to the car's ECU. So then I took it to my local VW shop and the owner couldn't get the car to connect using VCDS. My immediate thought is, I wonder if he swapped the stereo at one point OR a fuse was blown. Contacted the previous owner and he told me he never messed with the radio on the car, he left it stock (just like the rest of the car - in immaculate condition) and that he had plugged it in last summer and it worked fine then - the last time he used the OBDII port. Today after work I get home and checked every fuse on the drivers side panel of the dash, by pulling each one out and inspecting. Every fuse was good, not one blown fuse.
Still I'm having issues connecting to the ECU... not linked to the K-wire? My buddy and I pulled the deck out on Monday night, and the previous owner had the OEM 30-pin ipod interface installed and it looks like they tapped a few wires on the factory harness. That interface pigtail replaces the factory pig tail for the changer if equipped in the rear, and goes in the big connector in the back of the OEM deck..
Prius (Gen 2) :: CEL And Triangle Are On / Can't Connect OBD II
I am unable to connect to a 2005 Prius. I have an Actron CP9190/CP9185 Elite Autoscanner. I have used it many times on other cars and many other Prii but it won't connect to this particular car. ( I have a small car lot and keep 8-12 2004-2009 Prii in inventory) I tried 3 other Prii that I have on my lot and they connect immediately and power up but this one won't.
When I first got this car in it had some lights on and I hooked it up and it worked intermittently. I had to hold the connection just right or I would lose connection. This car had some aftermarket Bluetooth or GPS system that was removed before they traded it and I had my mechanic remove the bird's nest of wires next to the OBD connector that weren't connected to anything. This was about a month ago. This car is a 2005 with 129k.
I had the battery rebuilt before I sold it. The new owner has put over 2000 miles on it since. Now the CEL and triangle are on again and I am trying to see what the codes are but can't connect. Is there a fuse that powers the connector? or is one of the pins a power supply?
Golf VI R :: IPod Won't Configure Accordingly
I've been using my iPhone 4S with no issues on my mdi interface, as well as Bluetooth. I figured I would use a older iPod which has a lot of memory and I could just leave it plugged in all the time on my mdi. The mdi cable that I have is 5N0 035 554 -B version.
My iPod 5G video, was on old firmware 1.0, so I updated it to 1.3 which is the last version that apple released. But still not luck with this device appearing on my RNS-315 media mdi input. Just to note that the iPod is configured as follows: Format = Windows, Enable disk use is selected.
Any tricks that I should try to get it working ? (iPod works fine, connects to my iMac without issue). When the mdi cable is plugged in, it is charging the device.
Golf V R32 :: IPod Won't Have Compatibility
I have a second generation ipod and it will play when plugged in the car but nothing comes up on the screen. What type of interface comes up on the nav screen when a compatible 3rd, 4th, or 5th generation ipod is used. Also, am I correct that all new ipods are 6th generation and they're not compatible.

Yesterday, my MDI decided it wasn't going to work properly anymore. I can plug in my iPod/iPhone and it charges the device however, it won't play any music from it. Furthermore, on the RNS510 screen, it just says "AUX" and the time underneath it.
View 9 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: How To Pause IPod
I must be missing something obvious... I have a new GTI MkVI and love it dearly. My ipod plays well through the doohickey in the armrest. But I can't find any pause/stop/play controls anywhere. I listen to audiobooks a lot in the car, so really want to pause or stop the book while I make a call, or when I stop the car. The only way I have found to do that is to unplug the ipod, which is tiresome.

How to connect an amp to Eonon d5106 HU. The amp wiring kit I have is this one: [URL]…..
Now, I've managed to route the amp wires from the battery to the amp. Also routed the RCA and the power remote wire. I just don't know where I plug the RCA cable and the remote turn on lead.
Heres a pic of what the back of my HU looks like: (Its the middle pic)
Some guy was telling me to get a multi meter and check the power cable to find out which wire is putting out 12V. Once I find that I can just splice the wire and connect the remote wire to the wire putting out 12V.
Prius (Gen 3) :: Cannot Recognize When IPod 2 Connected
Loving the car, but I'm having an issue trying to get an older iPod (like iPod 2) to connect to my car. It keeps saying it can't recognize/connect to it. The iPod just continues to charge (even though it was just completely charged). I'm plugging it in using the USB inside of the console.

Golf/GTI VI :: Leaving IPod Connected To The MDI
Is it okay to always leave my iPod connected to the MDI? I ask because I noticed it continues to charge my iPod even when the car is off. I don't want to hurt the battery if I leave my iPod connected 24/7. On the other hand, it would be a lot more convenient to leave it plugged in all the time.
View 3 RepliesGolf V R32 :: Way To Get IPod Dock To Work With NAV?
I know what your thinking RTFM, but I did and so did the salesman but I cannot seem to get my IPod 160gig Classic to work. I turned it to FM inserted the IPod with screen facing right. Docked in the cradle which seems a little loose but it is docked and it does come on.
I then try and hit CD once and even twice both with and without a CD in the slot. But I cannot get anything from the IPod. I tried Aux but I believe that is the Aux port. Is there a setting in the setup?
Also can I use a 160gig Classic? In the manual it does not list that as a supported model. But I thought it was the same as a 60gig video Ipod. I purchased this IPod specifically for this car and really hope that it works as it is the only IPod that will fit all my music.
Prius (Gen 1) :: Code Goes Blank / Refuse To Connect
It has the typical Triangle of death, brake light, check engine in the dash, along with the PS, main battery and exclamation on the main screen.
