I have a 1999 Volkswagen Passat GLS. Bought it used just the other day with no radio in it. I put my after market Blaupunkt in it today and it took me seriously 5seconds. Instantly had sound, but it was only coming from the driver's side front and rear, but the volume was weak in the rear. I was going to look for the amp, but idk if it had the monsoon sound or not. Has 4 speakers and 4 tweeters, but i'm not sure if it's the Monsoon sound or Premium.
why my antenna is very weak as well? why I have weak/no sound output from my speakers, if I have premium or monsoon sound and why I have such a weak antenna and how to fix all of these things.
Passat (B5) :: Radio Scans Only One Station
I bought the 1999 GLS, came with JVC radio. I get ONE radio station in scan; when manually tuning to local stations, there is either nothing, or very poor reception. I had the radio pulled out (by local car radio shop), antenna is plugged in. I put a new flexible 16" roof antenna on (when removing it, even the ONE station is lost).

I am experiencing yet another problem with my Dynaudio sound system. The display for the radio works, but there is absolutely no sounds coming from the radio. It would be exactly like pushing mute (but in this case mute isn't activated).

Passat (B6) :: Radio Volume Fade Up And Down
My radio in the B6 seems to be acting strange...... I'll have the volume at a set level and it will fade up and down, like the volume is being ever so slightly raised and lowered. I thought at first it was some sort of speed-volume control but it fades up and down for no apparent reason. I have the in dash 6-cd changer with the XM built in.

so I am driving today and I go to turn the sound up using the steering wheel controls and it starts going up then NO sound at all.
i switch from CD to CD and radio and still nothing no hissing no poping just seemed like the internal amp just cut out.. i was able to see the meter on the radio go up and down just no sound.. i turned the radio on and off and still nothing..
i get home and turn the car off and back on and it started working again..
i'm sure there is a problem but how major and if the dealer scans the car will they be able to tell it happened..
i prefer not to go up there to spend all day waiting to be told they couldnt duplicate the problem so theres nothing they can do..

My radio antenna is installed, but the connectivity is mostly gone, comes and goes at random. I fiddled with un-screwing/screwing a number of times but that doesn't seem to effect it, so the problem must be elsewhere...

2.5 SE ... Surely I must be overlooking something, but I cannot seem to have the radio on without the engine running. There doesn't seem to be a key position just for the radio and when the car is turned off e radio goes along with it. Can't find any settings in the in-dash computer on it. How to do this ?

I have a 2002 passat I pulled the ground when replacing the turbo. Now the aftermarket radio will not turn off. It has killed the battery twice now. How to fix it?

One of the frequent stations I listen to, WXRT 93.1 here in Chicago, switched over from the standard "HD Radio" icon to one that I haven't seen yet "HD Radio Live" icon. Not sure what this means but it may be related to how some live HD radio can be paused, on other HD radios. Just a guess. Not sure if this has showed up on other HD radio stations but this is the first time I've seen this new icon .

My monsoon radio is beeping on my 2011.5 VW Passat. As soon as I turn the radio on the is a beeping sound. About 1 beep/second. Only beeps when radio is on. This is heard over the radio stations (ie. I can still hear the radio "behind" the beeping sound). This will start when I try to put a FM station in memory, turn the volume all the way down or when the battery dies. The radio is otherwise functioning normally (no SAFE being displayed). The beeping usually eventually goes away after several days to a week.

We had to replace our radio and the new one the volume would not work just driving down the road. Dealer has been great in working with us, got us a second new radio and it is having the same issue. Also the second new radio will not change FM/AM stations, doesn't matter which station you switch too it stays on the first station when you originally turn on the car.

Passat (B7) :: Radio Shuts Off When Bring The Car To Stop
When I'm listening to the radio and bring the car to a stop the radio shuts off when I turn the car off. Is there a way to get it to stay on until I open a door or something like that? It's kind of annoying if I'm in the middle of a news story to have to keep the car idling so I don't miss something.

Have a factory touch screen radio (not sure which one it is) no Navi, but its a 2010 Passat, mine sounds like crap, especially when playing though an IPOD. Put the same music on an SD card and it sounded much better. I literally have only had the car less than a week, and am contemplating going and taking out all the speakers and replacing them with aftermarket stuff.
