Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Car Sounds Like Its Leaking From Somewhere
So after patching my exhaust 2 times previously i finally gave in and decided to do it right this time....
I replaced the entire pipe from the cats up with a new piece that was fabricated to exact spec and no heat shield.
My car still sounds like its leaking from somewhere.
When I was using seafoam not too long ago, i notice that the car was smoking from the passenger side underneath the hood close to the back of the engine compartment...
Is it possible to get a hole in the manifold? or maybe bad manifold gasket?

I bought my 2008 GS 350 in March of this year, got it checked by Lexus of Edison at 70,606 miles (I purchased it at 69,850 miles) and everything was fine. So I went in for my 75,000 mile service and now they're saying that my LF axle is leaking grease from the boot and to replace it with a brand new axle it will cost $1773. My 2006 accent began having trouble getting up hills and getting up to speed..I then could not get above 20mph..I opened the hood and found oil coming out of the right side of the engine...at the seam not alot...Now ive needed a valve gasket replacement for awhile and had oil in spark plugs...what could the issue be..and could a bad valve gasket cause this...

I took my gs350 for a drain and fill today. Before They did anything, The service advisor called and told me the pan gasket is leaking along with a seal? I am aware of the gasket on the pan but wasn't able to get any info on the seal. Is it a seal that is replaced regardless of leak or not if they drop the pan?
Got quoted 700+tax for pan drop, replace gasket and said seal with fill of fluid.

Well got back home for the weekend and after a 200 mile drive I shut the engine down and step outside and notice fumes comimg from the front of the car. After popping the hood and looking and smelling around. Well I drive to my parents house (30 miles) and notice smoke, I'm angry now and call Lexus to drop it off.
After 2 hours they still haven't figured it out and give me a loaner anyways they did confirm a transmission leak. We'll see what happens Monday. By the way just bought new struts, plugs, K&N filter, Winter tires what a waste. Look for it on classifides. So to date Water pump, Alternator, Valve springs etc, transmission. Odometer is at 103000 now. 2007 GS 350 RWD.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Oil On Alternator / Leaking Out Of Sides Of Engine
I noticed quite a bit of oil on my alternator recently, and it looks like oil is leaking out of the sides of my engine. Does this mean that my valve cover gasket needs replacing and if so what should a mechanic charge for this i.e. how long should the job take?

Noticed that the engine oil volume for the GS350 AWD is larger than for the RWD car.
I am guessing this extra oil goes to the front diff, as Lexus tells me the front diff oil cannot be replaced.
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Engine Hesitation And VSC Light Came On
I have a 2006 GS300, just took it to the dealer as the VSC light came on and had engine hesitation. After checking them out, I was told that the engine needs to be rebuilt. I was informed that due to carbon built up on the manifold is causing the problem. How is it possible for a car with just 88K miles to have this problem? Should I had them recheck? Perhaps a sensor?

I bought in my 2006 GS300 to Lexus dealer 2 weeks ago for the engine misfire issue and were told to call corporate 'cuz it's over the 9 yr period for 1 month. Called and told me to bring it back for inspection on the issue. Dealer performed the test and found the misfire, but got a call from dealer that they won't cover it because I missed it by 1 month. I had explained to the rep that we moved around quite a bit and found out about this not too long ago.

Engine ticking not there when its cold but when it warms up, it gets louder.
I took a 3 hour drive to Memphis, TN and when I got there, the ticking was gone. it sounded like it brand new with 0 miles. I opened up the hood to see maybe it just quieted down but no, it was gone. if you put your ear to the engine cover you can hear the direct injection but faintly.

Recently traded in a 2004 ES330 for a Lexus Certified Pre-owned 2009 GS 350 AWD with 32,000 miles. Wasn't in the market for a GS but with such low miles and it being a CPO and the price was in my budget so went for it. Once I got it home, I am starting to notice the engine noise, like its kinda loud.
For some reason didn't notice it while doing the test drive but now, its like when I am driving, I get conscious about it so much so that I have to turn the radio on to take my mind off of it.
So was just curious if its the case with every GS. My 2004 ES had less of an engine noise, and I am thinking the GS is a CPO so it shouldn't be something out of the norm but still wanted to get some perspective here for peace of mind.
