Lexus GS 2006-11 :: 2008 GS460 - Faint Black Smoke At Start Up
So I have had the car for about 6 months and on occasion I have noticed faint black smoke at start up. It usually goes away after the initial start up.
The car did get the recall or TSB on the engine valve ring issue? Not sure if that's related or not.
Also it has an aftermarket cat back Tanabe exhaust if that's relevant.
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Rear View Mirror Has Black Skid Marks
The rear view mirror (inside) has black skid marks, lines, and dots and other crap under the mirror surface. It doesn't hinder visibility yet, but I wonder if there will be a recall in the future. Mirrors should have crystal clear visibility.

I have a 2006 Explorer 3.0L V6. I went to turn on the car a couple days ago and had to get it towed to a repair shop after the 5th cylinder ignition coil caught fire. The computer followed. So after putting a new computer, flashing it, and changing the ignition coil. They found the cause of the short, a wire under the intake manifold which they fixed.
Now the car has a:
1. rough idle
2. after a few minutes of running the truck the odometer blacks out with the battery light turning on.
3. battery voltage on the odometer before the blackouts claims 12.6 before starting the engine and 16.5-16.9 upon turning on and before the blackout.
There is no check engine light and no codes or pending.
I saw the thread on the cold solder that inflicts the odometer and will go fix that myself. But could the rough idle be coming from the high voltage?

Ok, so I have read on this subject and there are lots of posts about this being normal but why? What causes this? I have recently owned two 6.0's and neither of them had black oil even when I changed the oil! My last 6.0 a 2006 had oil that was nearly the same color out of the drain plug as the oil I was putting in! Why this happens on the 6.7.

I've been told by friends driving behind me that every time I accelerate I emit a plume of black smoke followed by a stream of black colored "water". I checked today by having the wife rev the engine to 4.5k...sure enough, black water shoots out of my exhaust, probably 3 oz. I also see a black puff of smoke which I assume is more normal than the water. Is this commonplace ?

I have a problem with my dash on a 13 ES. There was a shiny spot in the middle of the dash, so I took some Dawn dish washing liquid and a micro fiber towel and gently tried to remove the shiny spot. Well, after I wiped it with clean water, it dried as a whitish spot now, as if some of the dye came off! Any remedy for this mistake I did?

Driving home 2003 6.0 started blowing a ton of black smoke, cars wouldn't get behind me. Found an exhaust leak on the driver side up y pipe. Would that cause this much smoke? 2 codes were 0284 and 0281, I replaced those injectors about 10k ago, at the same time replaced turbo, hpop, egr valve and cooler delete, and new oil cooler.

My RC-F has like 8k miles on the odo. I first noticed it at around 6K miles and I thought my RC-F had picked up some "small pieces of wet tissues or some white paint from road construction". But upon closer examination it is the black paint across the black bumper behind the massive grill peeling the black paint thereby revealing its original white paint.
My front end looks like a Dalmatians dog with black and white spots.
I did not hit anything. Dealer is fixing it under warranty. So will wait and see.

what are some methods to have the original chrome pieces such as the front grill and window trims painted into glossy black. I called my paint guy and he told me chrome pieces are not 'paintable' and that I shouldn't go that route.

My car has been great until April this year. Out of nowhere, I could not unlock any door with the key FOB or black piece on the handle. I had to manually unlock it and then the car would not start.
Took it to the dealer, left it; they found nothing wrong. Same exact thing happened again in May and again on June 18th. I have only 49,390K on the car. I want to talk to Corporate but dealer will not give me the information.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 V8 - Rough Idle / Black Smoke From Rear End
I just bought a used 2006 Ford F-150 it has the Triton 4.6L V8. Seems to be running ok a little white smoke on start up, but the other night after leaving work at 5am when it was around 10 degrease freezing. When I started my truck it was idling very rough like it was about to die but it didn't after it warmed up it was a little better but I think I seen black smoke from the rear end, but like I said after it was warm it sounded like normal so I started to head home and got about 15 mins down the road and it started to run very bad like it was bogging down and lost all power if I pushed on the gas all the way I was not picking up any speed but if I let off the gas the truck would jerk very bad and gain speed. But the next day in the morning it started up fine no problem I even drove it around town with no issue. What this issue could be?

06 250 w 65k and it is sluggish on take off, and puffs black smoke most of the time. other than that it runs good.
