Golf IV R32 :: Bulb Have A Spark Effect When Powered On

So I have had the Helix projectors for a while now and i have really liked them up until recently. When i pulled the headlights to install my DDM drop ins i noticed that the wiring looks cheap as hell. and the cutoff inside the projector looks like doodoo.

I So my HID decided to go out... damn second set of bulbs in a week, I swapped the ballasts just to see if it was the same issue and it seems to be not the ballast. Im starting to think that the wiring is just very poor inside these particular headlights.

My real question is even though the DDm Drop ins are like 50-60 bucks...The bulb would have a "spark effect" when u powered them on. They did this for about 20 min when i was messing with them and then went out. Then the lights magically came back in in the middle of driving up the interstate.

Golf/GTI VI :: Backup Camera Badge Effect Kessy Functioning?

I am halfway through the badge backup camera install and I just had a thought. Will replacing the badge with the backup camera badge affect my kessy functioning? I did not check to see if there was a kessy and non kessy golf backup camera. I have read at least 10 DIYs on this mod and not one mentioned kessy at all.

Saturn :: 2001 - Jump Started To Odd Effect

I recently left my lights on on my 2001 Saturn S series. (I also recently had a car stereo installed, don't know if it's relevant). I jumpstarted the car and now I get an odd chiming at startup. When I arm the alarm the arming honk is as loud as the alarm itself. It used to be a more modest honk. Any thoughts on what might have happened during the jumpstart or how I can correct these issues?

Prius (2010-12) Fuel :: Effect Of Weight On MPG?

Exactly how much effect does weight have on MPG? I remember reading 1 MPG loss per 50 lbs of extra payload for the GII, is that about right for a GIII? (At that rate, I would get about 1.5 extra MPGs if I was as skinny as Tiffany Yep...)

For that matter, what weights do the EPA use for their MPG tests?

Volkswagen - Beetle :: 2007 - CEL Came On - No Effect After Oil Change

I own a 2007 VW Beetle (automatic) that I bought brand new and it currently has 85,500 miles on it. In the past year or so, I feel like this car has become even more of a money pit than it was to begin with (note to readers: do not buy a Volkswagen unless you are a millionaire!). I have one major concern and looking to see what others know or have experienced with this...

I got an 80,000 mile service done on my car towards the end of April. The mileage on my car was around 82,500, I think. The oil is synthetic and the dealer always recommends having the oil changed every 10,000 miles. The handy little sticker in my car indicated that I change the oil at 92,500. Fast forward to the end of June... check engine light came on though there was no difference in the driving of the car. I am hypersensitive about my car acting differently or driving oddly because I know how VW will gouge my wallet! I took the car to have the code read and it came back "Air Injection" which of course can be a multitude of things. I don't like paying people $100 just to tell me what's wrong with my car and not have that $100 apply to repairs. So, I took my car to a German car speciality shop. They ran diagnostics and told me that it was the Air Pump Injection Valve. A quick $450 later and my car is off and on the road.

Small problem... it wasn't driving well AT ALL. No check engine light but I KNEW there was something wrong. Car would "rev" or drive in overdrive until it switched gears which always happened at a higher RPM than usual. Sometimes when I started off from a stop, I would notice a "slip" in the engine/transmission (pardon me but I don't really know that much about cars). Other times, usually when turning, I would notice a knocking noise coming from under the hood. The car was literally SHAKING. Not vibrating. I know what a tire balance looks like - steering wheel shaking usually at higher speeds (60+), but that is NOT what this felt like. The steering wheel would be still, but the car itself shaking. This happened only at lower speeds (average 40 mph - I drive almost exclusively on city roads).

SO.. off I go back to the shop. This time I decided to return to the VW Dealership because I trust that they really do know what's wrong even if they overcharge you. They told me that there was very little OIL in the car which was causing the engine to knock. That is so puzzling since I had only driven 3,000 miles since my last oil change. I promptly asked them to check for a leak to which they replied that they already did. No oil leak. The reply I got as to why it would consume that much oil was "sometimes the level of oil consumption just increases." HMMMMMM.....

My car is driving very well now that oil has been added. No knocking. No slipping. No shaking (magic! they suggested a tire balance which I agreed to but then they said they couldn't because the rim was bent. That is interesting since they just rotated them in April.) I can't imagine why the oil would disappear after 3,000 miles. Could the repair shop who did the valve replacement have drained the oil?

Ford A/C :: New Blower Motor But No Effect On Fan Speed?

Prius (Gen 2) :: Engine Suddenly Start To Race With No Effect On Acceleration

I'm having a bit of a problem with my 09 Prius. I've got 120K miles on it, and I have multiple codes on the hybrid battery. I don't know exactly which codes they are, I will see if they are on the paperwork that I have and post them if I can find them. Either way, the battery will be replaced.

But it's the problems I'm having in the meantime that have me concerned. While I am driving, and seemingly under any condition, my engine will suddenly start to race with no effect on acceleration. In fact, when it has happened on the interstate, the car will decelerate. When I pull the car off the side of the road and power cycle the car, it temporarily clears up the problem. The frequency of this occurrence is increasing. The first time I experienced the problem, last week, it happened twice during a 3 hour drive. 2 days ago it occurred 12 times during another 3 hour drive.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Driving With Rings And Effect On Steering Wheel

So when I bought my '11 460L I noticed that along the top portion of the steering wheel (the lacquered portion) there is a fair amount of bumpiness. Basically it seems like the clear coat didn't cure correctly. It's not a big deal and ultimately I can live with it. However, since it does seem like a defect in the way the steering wheel was made I brought it up to the service adviser earlier today when I was dropping the car off for service. His immediate response was that the previous owner drove the car with a ring and that what I was feeling were indentations made by the ring.

While I can understand that a scratch or a chip may result from a ring riding on or banging against the wood, I find it very difficult to believe that it would actually cause waviness in the actual finish. This, of course, is beside the point that what I felt were more of protrusions rather than indentations.

So my question to you is for those who drive your cars with rings and such, have you seen those rings have any effect on the lacquered portions of your steering wheel. I didn't push the issue any further aside from the adviser who is the assistant manager saying that he will run it by the primary service manager. But I am not sure I want to let this one slide unless it really is an issue caused by the driver.
