View 17 RepliesGTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Valve Blow Off With Vacuum - Negative Boost?
This is my other question. I have an APR program and turbo-back billy boat exhaust. I installed a boost gauge that gets the reading off of the intake manifold (fuel regulator.)
So if I'm just tooling along, short-shifting and only using 1/10 throttle, and my boost gauge never reads above -5, let alone 0 or positive, why does my valve release pressure?
Why would there be pressure to release if there is a vacuum, according to the gauge? I wouldn't think that a recirculating or blow-off valve would work in reverse.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 1.8t - Loss Of Boost After Forge Splitter Installed
Just today I noticed my car boosting to around 1.2bar instead of the usual 1.4bar. The car is boosting to around 1.2 then dropping off to around a bar.
The only thing that I did was install a forge splitter. I presumed that the splitter valve was the issue and promptly put my 007p back on but still had the same issue.
During the process of adjusting the splitter valve I got limp mode several times. I much prefer the 007p and will be keeping that and selling the splitter. What may have happened?
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: AC Won't Blow Cold Air
The A/C hasn't been working for a month now, won't blow cold air. Took it to the shop and they put 1.5 pounds of freon in it. But it still won't blow cold. I'm taking a 1200 mile trip in it soon and the shop isn't an option. There's no leak as of now. What to do?
View 2 RepliesIS F (2008-2014) :: Aeroworks CF Splitter Installation - How To Remove The Bumper
Finally got the Aeroworks CF splitters and spent some time to install it. Took me about 3 hours but I also took the time to put on some adhesive velcro for protection. And re-sealed one of my headlights
First I took off the bumpers. follow this guide
How to remove the bumper from a Lexus IS250 / IS350 to install Lite-Eyes CCFL Halos / Angel Eyes - YouTube
Then the rest is easy. Make sure to clamp or put a bucket under the washer fluid hose if you have the headlight cleaner option. Fitment of these splitters are almost 100%. right side was perfect, left side has a slight gap but its like 1mm ... very small.
Just line it up, and drill 3 holes on the bottom and 1 on the side. The splitters came with screws and some fasteners. Easy to install. I put some 3M adhesive tape as well just in case . I stuck some Heavy Duty industrial velcro strips on the underside in case i rub.

So the other day I replaced my N75 valve and upgraded my DV to the Forge 007. For some reason the turbo doesn't spool like it did before, it's lost it's pep.
I've tried the Yellow and Green springs, also I tried them with the shim too. No luck. The car got turbo back exhaust, intake, and stage one program.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: CV Boot Blow Out After Few Hundred Miles
So the long story short, i bought a JB 20th with 36k miles on it, lowered on Neuspeed Race Springs and HD Koni Struts. When bought, both inner CV boots were torn on the car. I ordered OEM CV boot repair kits for all four joints (made by Rein OEM manufacturer) and rebuild the axles completely.
I got the car up in the air today and the drivers side inner CV boot is already torn, after only a few hundred miles (if that many).
From what i understand, it is a common problem on the O2M 1.8T setups after lowering? Is there a solution?
I searched around, but it is still not clear what is the source of it, even though i found plenty of threads that state that its a common problem.
Upon inspection, the geometry of the axle or the angle at which it operates when the car is on the ground does not look that bad, it simply does not make sense.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: After Installation Of Intake Getting Codes 16485 / P0101
I am having an issue after my intake install, it was working fine all day and last night i get a light on the dash bored (looks like the one when you take off the esp) and I get this:
code 16485 Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) Implausible Signal : P0101
Static - No
What could be the cause of this because i ran this intake before no issues I only took it off and put the stock intake back in due to the rain but now since the rain is gone i decided to switch

I got a 04 jetta gli that is making a loud blow off noise at around 15 psi. Up until then the the boost holds fine but then at around 15 psi it just starts whistling really loud and loses all boost. I recently replaced the DV and venthose by the camshaft, and made sure that it is tight. I also installed a 42DD 3" exhaust recently. The car has about 96k on it with stock vacuum hoses except for the aforementioned adjustments. I'm pretty sure it's not the hose and DV I replaced because I made sure that they were tight to see if that was the problem, and it did not fix it.

View 15 RepliesCamry :: 2011 - Windshield Washer Splitter Valve Replacement
How to remove the cover/sound dampener under the hood of my car to get at the splitter valve.
I know one side of it is plugged up. My left sprayer works fine but the right one doesn't work at all. I pulled the hose off the right sprayer and tried using the sprayers and hardly any fluid came out of the right side hose so I know the problem is in the splitter valve. The darn thing only costs about $3.50 and I don't want to go to the dealership and pay $200 to replace it.
My problem is, I can't figure out how to detach/remove the plastic discs that are holding the cover in place under the hood. I've tried using a pair of screwdrivers, slipjaw pliers and just my plain old fingers, but they don't screw out and they don't seem to want to pop out either and I sure don't want to break any of them.
How to get the cover off, do I need to get a different tool to pop the discs loose?

View 6 RepliesTouareg :: Air Recirculation Valve Randomly Go Into Oscillations For A Couple Of Seconds
I'm experiencing an annoying problem with the air recirculation value on my Touareg. Basically it will randomly go into oscillations for a coupld of seconds, where is sounds like the vent blowers are either speeding up and slowing down quickly, or the recirculation valve is opening and closing rapidly.
This seems to happen randomly, and usually only lasts for a couple of seconds. I've taken it to the dealer twice but they aren't able to determine the cause of the problem.
Here is my theory for what it's worth. I think it may be the recirculation valve, whose job is to close the external air value from outside air to recirculating internal air when it senses pollutants in the outside air. I think the problem is caused by one of two scenerios;
1) the sensor is bad or failing and sends random signals to the vent controller causing it to open and close rapidly, or
2) The control circuit is not tuned correctly, thus instead of waiting to see if the pollutants it senses is sustained, it reacts instantaneously.
The noise this produces is quite annoying!
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: 2002 - Check Engine Light Came On / Failed Clutch Vacuum Vent Valve Switch
I have an 2002 Volkswagen GTi 337 edition with the 1.8t engine in it. My check engine light came on so I went to my local autozone to check the code and that's what code it threw on the ODBII sensor. It says my problem could be a "failed clutch vacuum vent valve switch". It also revs about 100-200 rpms extra in between shifts and I'm not a mechanic but know a little about cars. I just don't know if I should replace the OEM clutch safety switch or what I should do about this.
