Camry 2012+ :: Belt Line Molding Removal?
I just bought a '12 Camry SE. However, the belt line molding (shiny trim piece below window) is dented in. How can I safely remove the piece without damaging anything? I may be able to knock the dent back out of this piece after removing it. Any specific tools required for removal? If I purchase the new molding from the dealer it will cost about $100, which I would like to avoid.

I have a 2011 camry le, just got its 10,000 service the other day. When I am stopped with my foot on the brake and the vehicle in drive gear, I can hear a rattle coming from the front. But when i let go of break and accelerate it stops rattling. I told the dealer at the service but they told me they could no duplicate it.

Working on my buddys 2003 camry, wont start, has air and spark and not getting fuel. replaced fuel pump already. If you hit it with a quite a bit of starting fluid it will fire up for a few moments and then die out, its got half tank of gas. Scenario #1 - vehicle does not crank. electricity is flowing (instrument panel lights on, can even alarm lock). started after hitting both the starter and battery terminal.
Scenario #2 - vehicle cranks from parking stall. Reverse backing out 3 feet, car dies, instrument panel lights are on.

From what I've read, the procedure for removing and replacing the drive shaft involves pulling the upper ball joints and tie rod end from the steering knuckle--is it possible to put a floor jack below the lower arm (the load runs to the spring through the lower arm) and undo the lower ball joint to get the clearance required to remove the shaft?

I've pulled the fuel lines and disconnected all the electric plugs. I don't seem to be able to remove the unit as the 4x4 drive shaft is in preventing me from full removal. Is this possible? I have a 2012 Prius v. It has intermittent, minor to serious problems that have not been detected by the computer. These include, when engine is READY, it won't recognize Drive. When in Drive is moves in Reverse, has locked keys in the car and does not always recognize key. The Cruise Control sometimes accelerates the vehicle on its own.
The Braking option doesn't always work properly. When touching the brakes the lights turn off. Sometimes when turning the lights on or off, the radio turns off. A new problem is that the brakes almost fail to engage, then, at the last minute they do. Toyota has sent a regional rep to take a test drive with computer diagnostics and found nothing. So, they won't do anything. These problems have occurred since I purchased the vehicle.
I have suggested that they trade cars with me while someone else drives it until they experience these events (actually the very first event was seen by a service person but that doesn't count, apparently); change computers; reprogram the computer. They won't do any of these things. It seems that if it doesn't show up on the computer when they are looking at it they won't do anything. There can be a long time between events and the events sometimes occur in clusters.
Dodge - Ram :: 2008 - 4 Wheel Drive At Highway Speeds Will Damage Vehicle
I drive a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. It has 2wd, 4hi, and 4lo. I have heard from some old timers that if I drive in 4hi at highway speeds it will damage the vehicle. The manual does not say anything about not driving highway speeds in 4hi. I only drive in 4 hi when there is lots of snow on the road (I-25/I-70 between Colorado Springs and the mountains mostly). Any good info on this? I understand how 4hi is no good on dry pavement (I've made that mistake a few times), but in a snowy situation on the interstate where I am not making any turns, only highway curves, is there anything wrong with it? I am talking speeds like 50-70 mph.

2009 Sonata; about 82K miles. Drive belt was replaced in July, about 6K miles ago, by Trusted Independent Mechanic in El Paso. Now, Trusted Independent Mechanic in DC area replaced it again because one of the belt's ribs was falling apart. Attached photographs show a portion of the damage (which is only on that one ridge).
Did that belt need to be replaced?What could have caused he damage? (Mechanic says pulleys look ok; maybe defective belt.)

I have a 2007 Avalon with 134000 miles. It makes a soft tap noise around the drive belt area. The drive belt looks good. I only hear this noise a slow idle. What do you think ?
