Getting The Bladder Back To Normal After A Catheter For Few Weeks?

How do you prepare the bladder for storing a average amount of urine after wearing a catheter for many weeks? At present I can only manage 1/3 to 1/2 the average. Not too good for traveling, going to theatre, shopping etc.

Catheter Re-inserted 3 Times After Prostatectomy

My husband had his prostate removed laparoscopically for prostate cancer. The surgery went well. He had a catheter for a week. It was removed and all seemed well. Good control, no leakage. None of the things he feared. But then urine flow slowed then stopped, and we had to go to the ER to have a catheter re-inserted, 16 hours after removal (OF COURSE this could not happen during office hours, so we could just go to the urologist). 2 days later it was removed again. This time he lasted 50 hours before it slowed to a trickle again. He had decided to go to work that day. In the interim I had read about taking hot baths to relax the urethra and bladder and taking ibuprofen to reduce swelling. The flow had already been stopped 5 hours before I knew of it and could suggest them. He tried those, but it was too late; no idea if they would have helped anyway. Doctors office said probably not.

What can he do to keep things open? All along he has been drinking a lot and urinating frequently, as instructed. The only exception has been at night (he usually gets up once, but will set his alarm more often if it will help).

How Many Considering Gastric Band Surgery?

I was wondering how many of you are considering gastric band surgery?

I went o see my doctor about it, and he said that, although I fulfill all criteria for the op, they wouldn't consider me uless I have tried Orlistat first, so that's why he has given me them.

I have 8 stones to lose, so presumably wouldn't be able to take Orlistat for that long!

Weight Loss - Intentional :: Bad Gastric Band Pain

I had my band done 10 days ago.  Until day 7 all was well, slowly recovering but then I started getting these horrible stabbing pains.  Most of my incisions are too the left but one is just off centre to the right and it's under here I am getting the horrible pain.  It's ok if I sit/ lie still but if I start moving round the twinges start.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I called the nurse she said it was probably where my port was embedded.

Also - I have low blood sugar due to the lack of eating. I've been increasing my intake but this hasn't got rid of the symptoms. Has anyone else experience dizziness, nausea and weakness? If so, how did you solve it?

What Are The Symptoms Of Bladder Cancer

Painless hematuria can be intermittently reduced or stopped by itself. So it can give a wrong impression to patients that it has been cured or turned better. A minority of bladder cancer sufferers have symptoms of increased frequency of urination, urgent urinate and painful urination. It seems to be suffering from cystitis, but antibiotic is useless. A small number of bladder cancer sufferers don't have gross hematuria but overproof of erythrocyte under microscope, namely microscopic hematuria. Therefore, patients with painless hematuria or "cystitis" which cannot be cured and microscopic hematuria should be vigilant and receive timely treatment. Doctors need to consider seriously and do complete inspection for patients, otherwise it would be easily misdiagnosed as urolithiasis, infection or prostate plasia and delay or mistreatment of opportunity.

Incidence of bladder cancer is relatively low of all malignant tumors, but the most common for carcinomas of urinary system and especially for the elderly. The most common symptom of bladder cancer is insensate gross hematuria. It is a sign for paroria. Almost every bladder cancer sufferer have the symptom and 85%; sufferers need to be treated for it. When suffering from prostatitis, the herbal pill like diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill works effectively.

Bladder (UTI) Infections. Upper UTI?

Has anyone had an upper UTI infection before? - I just got a UTI last night around 1am, burning while peeing, sluggish, etc, but later tonight I started feeling tenderness around my flank area underneath my rib cage, nothing painful, but I can feel it. I'm not sure if that's just natural gas or what. I've been drinking 100% pure cranberry juice for the past 2 hours with lots of water, so I'm wondering if that helps at all?

Diagnosed With Rare Endocervicosis Of The Bladder

I've been diagnosed with Endocervicosis of the Bladder and I'm told it's very rare. How rare is it and how can I find a doctor that can treat me appropriately? My urologist doesn't know much about it and is treating me for IC. There is very little information available online. I'd like to find somebody who has treated this before but I don't know where to start. Any ideas and have you heard of this disease?
