Vagina:: Strange Lump Under My Labia
I recently read an article that said you should check your labia once a month for lumps, and so while I was doing this check, I found a small lump under my labia minora. It's between my labia and the pelvic bone resting on top of the muscle. It's not hard, it's soft and I can move it around a little. it's about the size of a pea, maybe a little bigger. You can't see it by just looking, and unfortunately I don't know how long its been there. It doesn't hurt at all either. I'm a little concerned, I'm making an appointment as soon as I can, but I was just looking for a little peace of mind until then.
View 1 RepliesAm I Pregnant? :: Having Strange Dizzy / Nausea Spells
I'm on the pill, and my boyfriend and I don't use condoms although he does pull out. We had sex last month while I was finishing up my period (we are long distance so we haven't had sex since).
Maybe a week or two after we had sex, I've been having strange dizzy/nausea spells. They don't seem to be induced by stress or anything in particular. I threw up twice the other day, but this might have to do with a cold that I just got.
Also, I've been having trouble sleeping at night. I've been sleeping long hours during the day as a result, but way more than I ever usually sleep.
No sore boobs though. Occasional headaches.
My period is due in 5 days, and I took a test today that turned out negative. I know it was early to take it, so it might not be accurate. Do these sound like typical pregnancy signs?
Fluoxetine :: Fear Of Surroundings And Strange Feelings
Hi - on fourth day of flu. Doctor prescribed them after telling him of my increasing inability to cope with just about everything. I am a hairy arsed truck driver and a few weeks ago started to have to think about things that would normally have been second nature - an example is when approaching a set of traffic lights I can see that a red light is showing but I have to think to myself 'does that mean stop or go'?. So far nothing untoward has happened thankfully - so I made the appointment with the Doctor before anything did. He promptly signed me off for two weeks!!
I had a similar problem eight years ago, a few months after a heart attack and 9/11. I was absolutely terrified of everything. I couldn't even go near a McDonald for fear of them being a terrorist target (no great loss there then!!).
Then as now I would start crying at the drop of a hat - though this time I have managed to hide it from the family. At work I find myself in a layby,head in hands and sobbing like a baby and wondering if it's all worth it.
I don't really feel suicidal - I'm too scared to try anything in case it goes wrong and I end up a cabbage !!. My wife is an absolute gem in these times as she is under a similar pressure to me but copes with it far better than me. Perhaps it's the 'man the provider' scenario that affects me as I feel I should be able to provide for my family better than I do. The wife had a few weeks 'between jobs' but had agency work here and there so we got a bit behind with things like the rent and HP payments on the car etc. I do all the overtime that I legally can (being an HGV driver means you can only work so many hours by law). She has a permanent full time job again now thankfully so I know things will slowly improve over time but I still can't get rid of the feeling that I have let the family down and that we wouldn't have been put in this situation if I had done something - but what?.
As you can tell my problems are 90% financial. Theory says that now we have more money coming in again that things will improve. That's what I keep telling myself anyway. Even though I am signed off I am still worrying about work - is somebody doing my work properly - are they looking after my truck? etc.
As for the 'flu (20's) I have only been on it for a short time as you know but yesterday morning (3rd day) was awful - I felt as though I had swallowed some razor blades that were churning away in my guts cement mixer fashion. That seems to have subsided now - but now my poo smells!!. Oh well - we cant have everything. The only time I seem to be 'at ease' i.e. stress free is when I take the dogs for a walk. I like to go where there is nobody around - away from it all - and preferably not see another soul. But I have always been a bit solitary - I've always preferred my own company - perhaps that is part of the problem. When I used to do long distance work I may not have spoken to anyone for two or three days - bliss!!. My wife doesn't understand this as she is very much a 'people person'. Even now, I work alone and if I run into somebody (not literally) I start to feel tense just in case they say 'good morning'. I am willing them not to say anything because I feel that if they do they are invading my space. If they do say something I am always polite and respond of course as that's the way I've been brought up but inside I am saying 'You bastard - why did you have to talk to me - leave me alone and bugger off'.
Pregnancy :: Contractions, Movements, Strange Sensation
Early this morning I felt this dull pain on right lower back and belly went tight. Never felt this simultaneously before. At some point i thought its baby on a nerve and trapped air. Nothing worked, i got a snack and warm drink, i rocked, i walked, i went on all fours. Eventually went back to bed and slowed down breathing and somehow fell asleep again. I remember rubbing my belly but baby was so quiet. He seems to be awake again now but im still feeling strange sensations, they're not painful, just very uncomfortable. The dull back pain, is that what labour feels like? Anyone experience these symptoms? Im 31+3.

View 4 RepliesStomach Problems :: Growling And Strange Irritating Pain
For the last 2 weeks I have ben having some rather strange symptoms. I am a 32 year old male. No medical conditions. for the past 2 weeks, I have started feeling a strange sensation in my stomach area. It's not really painful (1/10), its more like an uncomfortable irritation (tenderness?). Almost like pins and needles, but not quite that (hard to describe this 'pain'). Its kind of like sharp pressure pain, and focuses on random, small areas of my abdomen. Sometimes i dont feel it all, other times, it just kind of comes up, then goes away. It started near my bellybutton and now i can feel it in a few places like: about 3 inches to the left and right of belly button, upper abdomen, sometimes bellow navel area. its really quite random, and sometimes I can also feel like almost an itchy/burning sensation, which I cant figure out if it is on the skin, or beneath it. But the uncomfortable irritation is definetly under the skin (maybe on the abdominal wall?). I have had an ultrasound done, but the wall shows no hernias or anything. I've also been having a change in bowel movements (used to go twice a day, lately just once, and less stools). I got an xray done about 10 days ago, and the only thing the doctor said was I have a lot of stool in my intestines and told me to take a laxative. It sort of helped with the constipation, but not much.
Today I went to the doctor because I woke up with intense cramps, likely due to the constipation. He gave me sodium phosphates cleanser and emptied out my system and got diarrhea for a few hours. Now, I am sitting here, and although the cramps stopped shortly after they came, the irritation/pain/tenderness is more than before. before i had to almost notice it, and now I can't miss it. Its still not really painful (like 1.5/10)...its just something that is there, and its annoying and has gotten me worried about what it could be. I noticed that when I bend over, I can feel it a little more, but at other times, it comes on when i am completely still. Also, my stomach has been growling for a few days quite a bit (even after eating). does anyone know what could be causing this strange problem? Could it be feces in my intestines, or could it be gas? Doctors are not sure, and want me to wait it out. So...in conclusion; random pains around my abdominal area, they are sharp and focused on one little area at a time, come at random times, but more often if I bend over or pick up a heavy object, and sometimes I feel an itchy/burning sensation on my stomach.
Vulva Itching - No Burn But Strange Bumps Inside
I was a virgin & I had unprotected sex it was hurting & stinging after the intercourse I guess due to the fact of my hole ripping. Day after I lost it my vagina started itching & it led on for about a week, I examined myself down there with a mirror and I see tiny lil bumps on my opening. They don't burn they just itch, I told my grandma & aunt my situation & they told me it could be yeast. When I went to use the restroom I saw blood on the tissue when I wiped, I tried monistat but my period came the following night. My period started may 1 - may 7, after it ended I still had itching. The itching did calm down a quite bit but the lil bumps are still here, they don't burn just itch. They don't look red just blends in with my vagina color, but it's noticeable when I put a flashing on it. My discharge doesn't stink, I guess it had a tint sort of like an off white maybe because my period ended & that happened 5 days after my period. I use to smell it through my clothes as well, but I'm not for sure either because that only happens when I'm in a rush & I pick the nearest panties that's on the floor & thats dirty. -_-_- so yeah I think that causes the smell. Now the tint is gone & it's white. But the little bumps are still here, like i said no BURNING, NO REDDISH COLORS, But it does ITCH. Help me, I know good as well you can't catch as STD a day after loosing virginity.
View 1 RepliesStrange Feelings After Falling Asleep - Possessed? Or Hallucination?
I am a 14 year old male and for the past 1-2 weeks, i have been experiencing strange feelings suddenly after falling asleep. Most of the time (In regards to religion) devilish. It started one night when I suddenly go to sleep and feel a rush go up my body, then a tap on my left knee. I disregarded it thinking i was just about to have a nightmare. About 5 minutes after that, i go to sleep again and feel another sudden rush up my body and a tap on my right bicep. This time i heard a slurred voice (I cannot recall what it said but i do believe there was laughing.) I finally got sleep and told my mom the next morning. These things had not happened again until 4-5 days later when I went to sleep and i get a sudden rush up my body but instead of a tap, I have no control over my body. After 30 seconds of not being able to move myself (Note, this was not sleep paralysis because I gained control over my body.) I regain control but then I feel another sudden rush through my body and a tap on my left leg again with another slurred voice. I want to know what is going on with me, am I being possessed? Or am I just hallucinating? I want to know your guys's thoughts and what I should do.
View 1 Replies62 And Ascending Aorta - 4.2 Aneurysm - Strange Pain In Chest
I am 62 and I have been diagnosed with a 4.2 aneurysm in the ascending aorta. It was found while in the hospital for a suspected heart attack. I do know that aneurysms run in my father's side....one brother died of a ruptured abdominal aneurysm, one died with a brain aneurysm, grandfather died of a ruptured ascending aneurysm and my dad had the same. Of course, they won't do surgery till it reaches 5, but the stress of this is hard on me and my husband. We do know that I did not have the aneurysm two years ago, because I had all the tests done because of my heart rate rate drops into the thirties at times. I do have this sensation in my chest that I had mentioned to my doctor several months ago and I am now wondering if it is related to the growth of this thing. Periodically, I get this stretching sensation in the upper part of my chest...doesn't hurt, but it makes me feel like something is pulling. It lasts a few minutes and then stops...it does this a few times a day. I was just wondering if it was possible to feel the aneurysm growing?
Anxiety / Multiple Sclerosis - Strange Physical Symptoms
I am writing this post after over 20 years of being worried about getting MS having been around my beloved Mum who has had it since I was 5 (I am now 33).
As a child I really suffered from bad anxiety, clearly related to my Mum being ill and in pain around me and my parent's relationship very slowly breaking down. This would come and go, but included a lot of missing school, night terrors, panic attacks, feeling ill when nothing really wrong etc. When I was 22-25 it really came to a head and I suffered terrible panic disorder. After months of therapy (talking it out and CBT), it went away and I was able to live my life again. I felt like a new person.
BUT, last year my father left my Mum which was a huge strain on me and more recently my mother has been very ill and in hospital for weeks after a bad relapse. I got extremely stressed travelling to and from the hospital every day and also trying to sort funding, hurry up the social services and hospital nurses that were so overstretched Mum's care was appalling (not their fault, but the NHS cuts) and then I had to sort a new care home for her that would look after her properly with proper nursing.
Anyway, for the past few months I have been having some very scary symptoms and I really want to believe that they are anxiety related and that my nervous system has been under so much stress that it isn't computing properly and me telling myself my worst fear, but I also need to be sensible and realise that my chances of getting MS are higher than the norm having an immediate relative with it. And I suppose I have been thinking about it all my life and I am sure that must have a long lasting effect on people.
I would say that I am experiencing a lot of symptoms all at once, I am not sure if these can occur through pure stress and anxiety as they are so physical! I have spent my whole life not reading about the disease or symptoms, only being around my Mum (lifting her, putting her to bed, sorting district nurse appointments constantly, caring for her during two MS trials she did years ago (which didn't work. Again hugely stressful etc etc) - and I think that reading about it all now would send me off the rails!
My symptoms include tingling in left hand and right leg, headaches, heavy feeling leg that is stiff when I sit down for long periods of time, strained feeling in eyes (recent eye test ok though) constant painful neck (helped by Osteo), light feeling in arm, chest pains, itchy feeling as if bugs crawling on my legs when I lie in bed...
The doctor has checked my blood and all was fine, checked my reflexes and everything seemed OK. I do think I should be referred to a Neuro but I am TERRIFIED.
I have had too much stress and worry and all my friends say I cope so well, but it is just a front, I don't think I can go through with an MRI and the worry of waiting to hear what I think I have expected all my life...to get MS like my Mum.
Oral / Dental :: Strange Nerve Sensation From Tooth To Chest...?
It's not a pain really, just a very intense sensation. I've gotten it before when getting a dental cleaning...I don't know what part they hit but it shoots down my neck into my chest. This doesn't happen everytime I get a cleaning--in act it's only happened maybe 3 times total.
And I also have gotten it--and this is a bit embarrassing but pertinent here--when nipples are stimulated. I even read somewhere else that some girl got some weird tooth nerve sensation when her bf was playing with her in that area. Not quite the same thing but still never related.
I phoned my dentist today b/c I felt some sensation IN my tooth left side bottom, as that's where the sensation comes from if it starts in the mouth. She said to come right down. They took Xrays and looked at my teeth and found nothing. However they did say I would need a crown and a filling replaced at some point on that side of my mouth, bottom. But she didn't think that would cause this feeling. She told me it's nothing to worry about. I asked if it could be a nerve and she said that the nerve from the tooth branches out into other nerves, so yes maybe.
That's all well and good but it's very annoying to say the LEAST. Once that nerve(s) is stimulated, it takes maybe a minute to go away. However today, I still feel a sort of 'tickle' in that area (chest) where the nerve sensation was. Plus the feeling in my tooth is new.
Anyone know which nerves these are or why they're sensitive all the sudden? Or even why touching those areas stimulate it?

View 1 RepliesAlcohol :: Liver Damage After A Year Of Binge Drinking? Strange Symptoms
I know I suffer from anxiety (and depression and insomnia), which is partly what drove me to drink, am on treatment for same and will review things with my GP asap, but I want to concentrate on my physical health concerns. Please ignore this thread if you ONLY want to talk about anxiety.
Briefly: I was a social drinker for 25 years, occasionally drinking more than I should have (but at things like celebrations and functions).
Two years ago, I began to develop mental health problems, but didn't start drinking more heavily (self-medicating) until about one year ago, when I also started to binge drink occasionally, including twice last October. After a gap, I then restarted drinking heavily in March this year, and this became very heavy at times in the summer (80+ units per week), with occasional even heavier binges, the most recent being last Thursday / Friday (50+ units each day).
I finally ended-up in hospital last weekend with tachycardia, low blood pressure and probably alcohol poisoning. While there, I first developed a painful red/purple rash on my chest. I was put on antibiotics for this, and it seems to be clearing-up.
However, then, I quickly developed various other strange and unpleasant physical symptoms:
- numerous bruises;
- numerous pimples and red/purple dots under the skin;
- some hair loss and extensive hair-thinning;
- a spider naevus;
- red palms;
- itchy skin- skin darkening affecting the backs of my hands and genitals;
- regular, profuse sweating;
- whites of eyes turned lemon;
- brain "fog".
Some of these symptoms have reduced or resolved (eg. red palms and itchy skin), but the others have persisted.
I am eating OK, but making an effort to do so. In spite of this, I have lost about a stone in weight in the past 3 weeks. I'm also lacking in energy.
Since June, I have had regular liver function tests and other blood tests, too.
These have shown elevated enzymes, more or less in line with the extent of my drinking. In early August, after a serious binge, the AST was 96 and GGT was 121. In mid-August, AST had reduced to 25 and GGT 72. But they were higher again (though both under 100) on my admission to hospital last weekend, but had started to fall again after I was there for a few days. I have been advised that, in all of the tests, the values for other important measures were consistently normal. The junior doctor in hospital said the LFTs indicated no cirrhosis or hepatitis.
I also had a physical exam (just manual) from a GP in mid-August, and she said my liver / abdomen felt soft and suple with no sign of inflammation, enlargement or hardness.
However, given the strange and unpleasant physical symptoms that quickly developed in hospital last weekend, I fear that my last serious binge a week ago finally tipped me over the edge and into serious liver disease. Too many of the symptoms are those of cirrhosis for me to think anything else. (I've checked on the NHS website.)
I am absolutely terrified that, despite good advice and warnings, I did not take heed and my body, especially the liver, has finally been permanently damaged by the alcohol.
My main question is: can I turn things around? I have not had anything to drink since last Friday, and have no inclination to do so. I am drinking a lot of water, fruit and vegetable juices, and eating healthily. I will try to get some exercise, though I don't have much energy.
I'll see my regular GP next week, but could do with some advice and, if it's appropriate, some reassurance before then.

The pain is not so great as to cause bleeding, toilet trouble but the pain is there every day for two months.

Also the only thing i can think of is having sex with a stranger 4 weeks ago.
