Menopause :: Dealing With Nausea?
I have been dealing with nausea in and off for a few days, but I'm a little hungry if that makes sense.
Has anyone else dealt with nausea?
Nausea :: Past Few Months, Random Nausea Lasts A Day Or Two
Over the last few months I've been randomly getting nauseated. It usually lasts a day or two and only has actually caused me to vomit a few times. However recently it has become more severe, and more common and even more recently has become paired with an uncomfortable dizziness and weakness in my legs. My mother believed it was morning sickness so I took a pregnancy test which proved negative and haven't missed any periods in the 3 months since I was last sexually active so I'm fairly certain I am not pregnant.

View 5 RepliesHIV :: Lots Of Low Risk Exposures, Can I Be Positive?
I have had several encounters with people of known (now, not at the time) HIV positive status which has included deep kissing and minimal unprotected oral sex (both the giver and the receiver). I am only the top when I have anal sex and have never had unprotected anal sex (I always use a condom). I have never taken body fluids and may only possibly have taken a minimal amount if providing oral sex. This has all been within the past 2 1/2 years. I have had lots of changes to my body since then - more headaches than usual, random thinning around my nose, jawline, and forehead, hard and more pronounced salivary glands. Really, I haven't felt my 100% self. Sure, maybe this could just be "in my head", but realistically, what is the chance of exposure and a test showing up positive?

I am 14 years old and I have noticed since I was around 12 I have like this fishy type smell odor that comes from my vaginia . It is really embarrassing because I can just be sitting in class and I will start to smell it and I don't know if anybody else can smell it. I also get very wet and often my underwear will be soaked by the time I get home from school so I have to change them. I am too embarrassed to talk to my mom about this because then she will think I'm sexually active or something when I'm not . I am still a virgin and I have never been fingered .

View 1 RepliesGot Lots Of Injuries From MMA (mixed Martial Arts) And Working Out
I started doing powerlifting last year and had to stop after the pain in my shoulders got unbearable. I feel my rotator cuffs are weak, and there's always a pain in my shoulders when I stretch my arms. Needless to say I had to stop doing power lifting which involved shoulder exercises.
This also takes some power and mobility away from my hooks and uppercuts when I do sparring, as well I have to be careful I do wrestling because my shoulders cannot bear too much pressure.
It feels like I'm sliding on this ice.
My right foot also has been injured from a kick that I did 8 months ago.. I'm sure I pulled a ligament, however I didn't tear it completely because I managed to train with the injury and pull through.
It's just when I have to train intensely I know that if I take my workout to the next level something is gonna pop.
I've been doing self-acupuncture for the last 4 months.. it helped a tiny bit but not enough
I also got a thai massage when I went to thailand, which can be considered a sports massage over here which helped me more then anything else.
Besides that earlier in my life I went to see a bunch of physiotherapists and injury relief supposed PROS... and all they really did is combine stretching with massaging and with a bit of resistance training.
I mean.... is that all these people got?
I'm extremely flexible and I know almost every exercise there is.. maybe if it isn't helping me when I'm doing it solo.. then it won't help me when I pay somebody 80$? Just a thought...
I know that healing is a big industry, and it kinda pisses me off how everybody tries to make money off you, regardless if you need it or not
1) Acupuncture
2) Massage
3) Physiotherapy (What exactly do they do there which I can't do myself???)
Please don't tell me to go see the doctor... I tried that, it doesn't seem like they can offer anything better then an x-ray & painkillers.
And I'm not taking pain killers, that only suppresses the problem
On top of that I need to keep training to maintain my strength and skills.. I dont want to take a break
What other options are there for me?
Are there any alternatives out there
Steroids to speed recovery? if so what kind? I know lots of MMA guys including Anderson Silva used it. Perhaps other types of injections to strengthen ligaments? Surgery?
Kidney Disease :: Lots Of Protein In Urine, EGFR Over 90
I'm a 37 year old female, 2 years ago at the Birth of daughter I developed severe preeclampsia, and went onto develop pregnancy related heart failure - post Partum cardiomyopathy. I nearly didn't live, but I'm lucky to have recovered full heart function and my heart is now considered normal.
I've known since having the preeclampsia of protein in Urine causing a foamy appearance, I still have this now, and had been testing my own urine with dipsticks over the last 2 years ranging from plus 1 to plus 4 throughout the day. Virtually all morning samples negative.
Last year I was tested at my GP office and an ACR which came back at 98mg. At the Time my GP said re test in 3 months and suggested it still might be my body settling down from the heart failure etc, I continued to test myself and never want back to the doctors because basically I wanted to forgot about illness and live life without worry bringing my daughter up. Now another year later my urine was getting even more foamy, I decided to go back to my GP, I've had the following tests and have been referred to a nephrologist which isn't until the end of September:
eGFR: over 90
ACR: 198 mg
Protein in blood: Normal
ANA: normal ( i have had previously positive ANA two years ago)
FBC: all normal
ESR: Normal
Liver function test: Normal (I also had trace Bilirubin in my urine)
Glucose: Normal
Kidney & bladder ultrasound: Normal
24 hr urine: 0.3grams (300mg)
I know I have been spilling the protein since the preeclampsia, sometimes I have tested my urine all day and it has been Plus 4 for each one, so I'm guessing tallying this up must be well over 2000 mg a day, when I did my 24 hr there was only one urination that showed a plus 3 on dipstick that day which correlates to the 300mg reported over 24hrs
I have low blood pressure naturally 100/60, I'm off all heart medications, I healed quickly and came off them after 6 months of heart failure. I'm not diabetic, it doesn't appear I have any autoimmune disease such as lupus, all my bloods are normal, so is my kidney function, yet I'm still passing quite high amounts of protein.
I know only a nephrologist can help determine what's going on, but my appointment is not until the end of September, I do a lot of googling (too much information i know can make things worse!) and know that protein can continue to make the kidneys worse, I'm concerned there is an underlying condition, and even if its primary how quickly can this progress with high levels of protein? Could I get acute kidney failure? My mother has stage 3 CKD for years and passing no protein, however she is on ACE inhibitors. My GP said I will probably go on these, I was on these for my cardiomyopathy and preeclampsia and once my blood pressure returned to normal I had to come off them as I was very dizzy and light headed. So although they may help kidneys, I'm concerned I won't be able to tolerate them.
Also what could be causing this? primary glomerulonephritis? Could the preeclampsia heart failure have caused permanent damage and hopefully now my heart failure is better no more damage will develop?
I have no other Symptoms at all, all this came about because I noticed my urine was still foamy.
My biggest concern is that although my kidney function is still normal, is it possible it could decline rapidly because of the protein?

Vagina :: Lots Of Hanging Skin On Vaginal Lips
I have been masterbating for 6 years. I noticed about a year ago that my vagina lips have skin a lot of skin hanging off of them. I think it was maybe masterbating to much or to hard. I looked in a porno and I saw girls have the same thing . I just want to know if its normal and if not can I get it surgically removed.
View 1 RepliesAutoimmune Disease? Tooth Decay / Lots Of Cavities
I'm a 24 year old female. I've been trying to figure out what is wrong with me for years. Two doctors, and two dentists, suggested that I may have an autoimmune disease, but I've had no diagnosis. I am wondering what autoimmune disease in particular this might be closest to. I've had these symptoms for a long time:
- Mild arthritis in right hand (since 17 years old) - maybe once a year, my fingers unexpectedly become swollen and arthritic, and then it goes away after a few weeks. It was most severe a few years ago, when my fingers became very swollen, hot, itchy and red, but it eventually calmed down and has not since returned with the same severity. My fingers in this hand are tilted towards the side, the joints have bended a little a bit sideways. Both of my hands and fingers are always very cold.
- Chronic fatigue
- A skin rash, cluster of small red bumps, that comes and goes on the side of legs. Also get random isolated red bumps throughout the body.
- Underweight and can't easily gain, though this might be genetic. I've always been underweight.
- Hair loss (began at age 18)
- Brain fog
- Vision getting blurrier / sensitive to light
- Eyes sore and red especially in the morning
- Poor looking skin
- Chronic sinusitis for the past 3 years. No cure or known cause (allergies were ruled out) - the sinusitis and red eyes clear up on steroids and antibiotics, but come back afterwards. So possibly a bacterial cause.
- Low blood pressure, low body temperature (96.5 - 97.5 on average)
- Tooth decay. I've had a lot of tooth cavities since I was a teen. I often wonder if tooth decay is the underlying cause of all of my problems. I've had many fillings and a root canal, but continue to have seemingly never ending problems with my teeth. My oral hygiene habits are extremely thorough though, and I try my best to prevent the cavities. I do everything I can to keep my mouth and teeth clean; electric toothbrush, brushing, flossing, special mouthwash, special toothpastes, etc.
I eat a relatively healthy diet and take vitamins and nutritional supplements. I've been experimenting to find the best diet to cope with this..whatever it is. I notice my health and energy levels are very dependent on how well I eat. If I eat junk food, or even the standard American diet, I feel very ill, exhausted and can't function. I can't have "treats" like a cookie or brownie, doing so could make me feel miserable for the next 24 hours. I keep myself semi-functioning by eating as simple and clean of a diet as possible, and consuming a lot of fruit and vegetables every day, along with tea and coffee.
My top two suspicions are that this is all a manifestation of tooth bacteria, or Celiac disease. Or maybe both. Most dentists don't believe that tooth bacteria would cause such an elaborate array of health problems, but I think it might be possible. I've heard of meningitis and heart disease caused by tooth decay. All of my symptoms started after I started to get severe tooth cavities, it was after having a root canal when I began to have severe hair falling out, and from then on my health went downhill. I had a blood test for celiac by a gastrointestinal doctor and they told me the results were negative. I never had an intestinal biopsy.
Kidney Stones :: Blood In Urine - Lots Of Water To Drink?
It all started a little over a week ago, when I discovered blood in my urine late in the evening, thought nothing of it until i carried on peeing blood for the whole of the following day, day 3 was the day when I started getting extremely excruciating pains in my left side which caused me to roll around on the floor in agony and that pain would come and go in little or loads of pain, so I went to the doctors and he said kidney stones and gave me dicloflex and to drink lots of water to hopefully pass them, (he did a sample and I had extremely high blood in my wee and nothing else) I also have a ct scan In a week but the pain in my sides has stopped, like it's barely noticeable now, and because I've been drinking so much water the blood has stopped too, but I bet there are still blood cells in the urine not visible to the human eye? If I stop drinking water will the blood return? Basically will the ct scan come up with anything or will it find anything else? As the pain and blood has apparently stopped for the past two days, also I am certain I haven't passed anything, I've kept a close eye and seen or felt nothing, I've had the odd bottle of lemonade because that 'apparently' helps, maybe it's dissolved the stones?
Thanks for your time
Scott

View 7 RepliesMenopause :: Period - One Year Post-menopause
Three weeks ago, to my great surprise, I started to bleed after one year. The 2-3 weeks preceding this, my breasts were so sore, I was bloated and I has the typical "stringy" discharge that I used to get before my period. I was really not expecting another period but the bleeding was heavy and lasted for just over a week.
I saw my doctor a few days ago and she that she is obliged to send me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy if the lining looks thick. She said she is not worried but I am freaking out.
Can anyone share a similar experience? I read on one website that it is actually possible to ovulate and have a period after you stop menstruating for a year. I have not had any spotting - just this one "period". Of course, everything I have read says how abnormal it is to bleed after menopause and now I'm scared that there is something serious going on. My ultrasound is booked for two days from now.
Peri Menopause/menopause :: Trying To Conceive

My periods are starting to range from 30-45 days but I've yet to skip a month. My husband and I were considering trying one last time to have another baby. Very confused
