Menopause :: Spotting In Meno Because Of Estrace?

I'm 55 and have been officially in menopause for about 4 years. My only difficulty has been severe vaginal dryness and atrophy (ugh, what a repellent word. Imagine if men referred to their penises as "Atrophic?").

I tried ignoring it. Tried some natural lubrications but those only worked at "the outer edges" (ahem) of the problem. I eat a very healthy diet, exercise, blah, blah, blah. In other words, I try. I really do.

So dutifully I tried Estrace cream: 4 grams a nite for 2 weeks. Then 2 grams a nite for 2 weeks. Then I was supposed to use it 2 times a week.

I had just arrived at the 2x a week when voila: spotting. It was just some pink (not much) when I wiped after peeing. Oh, at and the start just 1 suspicious itty bitty teeny tiny drop of blood, bright and alarmingly red.

Although the vaginal dryness was much improved, my breasts were swollen and tender (as if premenstrual) and I felt crampy and uncharacteristically irritable.

So, off to the gyno. Who today did a sonogram. Says my endometrium lining is "a bit thick" and next I must have an endometrial biopsy.

Have had 3 of them during the perimeno years when I was having random periods. And it really hurts. Now, with the atrophy and dryness, I'm terrified of the procedure.

And even more terrified of the possible results.

Has anyone out there ever had spotting on Estrace?

If so, when you stopped using it did it go away?

I avoid medication anytime humanly possible. Never much even bother to take aspirin for a headache. I'm very "natural" and prefer to keep it that way. But I did the Estrace because I was so miserable and my quality of life was diminished. Sex became out of the question, libido was gone and all I anticipated from a part of my body that I'd always delighted in....was pain. So I went against my own usual style and gave the Estrace a shot.

Now I'm frightened and anxious and wondering if any of you out there have been thru anything similar; and if so, what happened?

Menopause 61 With Prolapsed Uterus And Spotting

I am 61 yrs. old and have had a prolapsed uterus for two yrs. now. I had to put off getting anything done with it because of serious back problems that turned into four huge surgeries(sagittal imbalance) I was bent over at a 45 degree angle for two yrs. anyway, all this time my uterus kept getting worse and now I am in recovery from my fourth back surgery and I noticed blood in my underwear. I think it's coming from the uterus, that is now protruding almost all the way out. I have to push it back inside . I so have an appt. with a urogynecologist Oct.14th. But until then just wondering if anyone had any insight on this. Of Course I am through menopause. I haven't seen any blood for about a week now. But I have a bad discharge(yellowish color). That's been going on for around three weeks, I have had several UTI's in the past six mo. I just know that my cousin had uterus cancer and her first symptoms was one little drop of blood. So I am a little scared about the blood. (Or spotting).

Menopause :: Spotting - Anxiety, Depression, Loss Of Libido, Interrupted Sleep

I am 47 ( just turned) and believe I am in perimenopause. My mom went through menopause in her early 40's with little to no symptoms ( that she can remember anyway lol).

I have the anxiety, depression, loss of libido, interrupted sleep and ever changing periods - sometimes light, sometimes heavy etc. I skipped my first one last month.

My spotting seems to be getting worse, it is usually brownish and occurs in the last half of my cycle. This month there was a bit of red spotting and I usually spot after sex during the last half of my cycle.

I went to the doctor and she has scheduled an ultrasound and of course I have read everything on the internet and am getting scared to death.

Negative HPT But Periods 2 Weeks Late, Tubal Ligation But Spotting

My last period was 10/1. I had cramping, sore breasts, and irritability leading up to what should have been my next period on 10/29, but to my surprise NO PERIOD!  Having had three children already I know what the standard meaning of 'no period' is, but I had a tubal ligation 12 years ago so this puts a twist on the 'standard' meaning. I purchased a 3 pack of First Response pregnancy tests to put my mind at ease, but hella good that did, they were all negative!  A week after my expected period I had light spotting and was relieved thinking I had just over reacted and the spotting would soon turn into a heavy flow, but the spotting was just that, spotting...now two weeks later I'm still with no period, heavy breasts, and all the other classic pregnancy symptoms. Has anyone else gone through this and if so what was your outcome?

Hypothyroidism With Polycystic Ovaries

When I was sixteen, I started to display all of the symptoms of Glandular Fever. Two years went by until the doctors finally diagnosed me with Hypothyroidism. At this point, my thyroid levels were that bad, that I looked bloated, had ballooned to a size 18 and became very ill. As you can imagine, being 5'2 the weight started to affect my back/ joints etc. which just added insult to injury.

The doctors started me on 150 micrograms of Levothyroxine, which was then increased to 200. I went down to a size 10/12 and felt happy, healthy and fit. I had so much energy and found myself wanting to work out once, sometimes twice a day. The positivity came from nowhere, my skin felt great, my hair felt strong and the weight seemed to melt away.

I'm now 22 and I am feeling depressed, tired all of the time, I have no energy to work out and I find myself forgetting things all of the time. I find myself asking how I've ended up back where I started. I'm still on 200 micrograms of thyroxine - but I've now been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries.

I just feel like I'm getting nowhere, I'm back to a size 18, I don't feel confident, I just feel like this condition is destroying my life and there's nothing I can do about it. I try to push myself to exercise, but I just don't have the energy. I work full time and by the time I get home I am far too tired to move. I go straight to sleep, sometimes without eating. So how am I putting on weight?

Ovulation And Ovaries :: Pain On Right Ovary And Light Bruise?

This whole day I've had really light pain and discomfort on my right ovary, I press down and it hurts a little, there is a very light bruise the color of my skin but just a bit darker. I'm expecting to have my period on the 23rd. I am 18 years old and sexually active. I also have hyperthyroid disease and don't really take my medication. I started bleeding a little over a day ago but it was a very faint light brown/pink color. I'm afraid it could be implantation bleeding but I could also be over thinking or just paranoid. Some months I don't get my period at all, last time I got my period was on the 25th of July. Could this be an ovarian cyst or a sign of pregnancy? Or just cramping before I get my period? I was thinking about going to the doctor but the pain isn't severe or that bad to actually go.

Ovaries :: Discharge A Sign Of Increasing Or Vanishing Follicles?

I'm having brown discharge continuously for 10 days before my period due date,so i went to doc n she asked me to take thyroid n Ultra,my thyroid results came normal, but ultra shows that slightly enlarged ovaries, bilateral ovaries with multiple small follicles arranged periphery, clinical correlation for PCOS, so she asked me to take oral contraceptive(YASMIN) for 3 cycles, till now i have completed 2 cycles, still i am having that brown discharge, this time the discharge has increased slightly like i have to wear a small pad,( Not so heavy).I am so much concerned about this, is this a sign of that follicles are vanishing?? Or is this a sign of Increasing follicles?? Please let me know what it is?? Before i started this medication, my periods are normal( if they are late, only about 10 days late) and i am not overweight, i don't have any acne or unwanted hair.
