I wake up every half hour during the night - is this menopause sleeping pattern? Any good supplements for insomnia - magnesium doesn't seem to help.

Right Ear Crackling, Half Deaf, Ringing Somewhat

I recently had a cold, with some sinus issues, first time ever and I'm 36, not allergic to anything. The sinus has now cleared, 95%, still have some yellow mucus coming out when I blow my nose, but only on right side and not as much as yesterday or day before, but left with an ear that is half deaf and crackles when it hears a lot of noises at once (crackles or sounds like a waterfall, difficult to explain). Can hear fine with my left ear. There's also some ringing in the ear. Slight. Is this something that will clear up with time or do I need to see a doctor? I did finish my antibiotics this morning.I can also say that I'm a bit off balance, I won't say dizzy or vertigo, just half off balance when I walk. Not enough to fall over. Thanks in advance

Penis :: Half / Partial Circumcision?

My penis seems to be circumcised (no foreskin cover the glands) but there's a strip of about 1/4 inch that’s still connected on the top which makes for these two very small pockets (one on either side) where small amount of smegma build up.

Broken Humerus Bone In Half

I broke my humerus (upper arm) bone in half about two weeks ago. It is a oblique break in the middle of the bone. They had me take x-rays yesterday so they expected me to straighten my arm. Well buddy my bones started grinding and popping and OW! needless to say say they didn't didn't get me to straighten it... Ah whatever they got pictures of it straight the day I broke it thanks to painkillers. It is in a sling and perfectly aligned according to what they did get yesterday and two weeks ago. I am 20 I don't smoke and i don't drink. That is my story now my questions are. 1: how long until I can straighten my arm without the bone moving and snapping? They expect more x-rays in 2 weeks but if this thing moves its not happening! (because I'm a wuss I know) 2: how terrible does therapy really hurt? Should I take pain pills beforehand? I've heard some scary stories about therapy after a break. 3: do I I have have to worry about breaking it again in therapy or when I do decide to straighten it out? May be a stupid question but last time my arm was broken i was 2 so... 4: I have a numb spot on my arm, that from the bone or did I give myself frostbite from non stop ice packs? It's above my elbow, below the break. And lastly how long until it's completely healed? I'm a CNA I kinda need the thing :/ thanks for taking taking time to read this please help me out a little. I have borderline PPD and a hint of wimp so I appreciate any HONEST information!

Menstrual Cycle :: Its Been A Year And A Half Since I Have Had A Period?

I was quite late to start my periods- 16 and they lasted for roughly a year or so very irregular.  They went away to costa rica and by the time i returned about 3 months later and i had turned 17 my periods had stopped. I haven't had my periods since, i have however been to the doctors several times, they have taken my blood and seem to have found no symptoms- they just told me they will return soon. One said it was because i was too thin, i am quite slim but no more than some of my friends and i eat a lot. It took quite a bit of effort but recently gained a little weight- i travel quite a bit (asia, south and central America, af) and was wondering if it was possible i have some kind of parasite. I'm 19 almost 20- there must be something up.

Neurology :: Half Of My Hand Is Tingly And Numb

I frequently wake up with an arm asleep because I tend to fall asleep on my arms with my elbows bent. This always goes away quickly.

This afternoon, about 3 hours ago, my right hand started feeling like it is asleep. It's mostly the last 2 fingers and the palm/back of the hand below them so the ulnar nerve but the index finger also has the same pins and needles feeling. I was not asleep at the time; I think I was petting the dog.

It has full ROM and the strength seems fine. I have no stroke symptoms (aside from this of course but I'm pretty certain it's not a stroke). Both of my hands are equally cold. I haven't done anything that would cause an overuse injury. I have no other symptoms of anything I don't normally have.

I'm not diabetic and have no conditions that would explain this.

I do have a large port wine stain birthmark on this hand although it is mostly on the thumb, index and middle fingers which are the less affected area. This shouldn't cause nerve issues anyway.

Nothing seems to be helping it. It is annoying rather than a big deal. If it continues I'll go to the dr Monday. But I just wondered if anyone has any ideas? I had something a little similar 15 years ago when I was typing my master's thesis but I'm not on the computer anything like that now.

Orlistat :: Lost 1 And Half Kilos In 4 Weeks

Went for my weigh in with the nurse and I've lost 1 and half kilos in 4 weeks, not bad considering i've not been able to take our puppy for a walk because of all the snow and ice. I now weigh 13st 1 lb (83 Kilos) and my BMI is 30.3. I haven't got a target as such, my nurse said to aim for something i'm comfortable with and my daughter said to aim for a BMI between 25-30 so almost in that bracket. I don't think i'd look healthy at the recommended weight for my height but no where seems to take age into account- I must admit i'm a bit disappointed that i'm still a size 18 for most things and with only 3.3 pounds short of a 4 stone loss was hoping to be nearer the 14-16 size.

Hope every body is having a good week, Good luck for any pending weigh ins- (my nurse still wants to see me in 4 weeks so she's not taken Christmas into consideration unlike somebody elses Dr

Keep up the good work everybody

By the way I've been treating myself to a good for you hot chocolate with Amaretto in it delicious

Contraception :: Implanon Experience For Two And Half Years

I am actually gutted because I thought it was great for me for a while. As soon as I had it put in I had frequent, not always predictable periods that would range from light- to- heavy-, usually alternating! However, I thought that this wasn't too big a deal since it is meant to be almost an almost 100% effective contraceptive (I was told no one had gotten pregnant on it when I had it put in) and, seeing as I was told that the majority of women don't have periods (over 90%) I thought I was just unlucky and plodded on without concern. (Although this transpires to be untrue!!)

I had a lot going on at the time of having the implant and so was a bit stressed out anyway and always had something to link feelings to, but now that life is on an even keel I have noticed that these feelings, far from going away have strengthened! I have become teary- here are some examples: crying at Big Brother and Supernanny (that is SO not me- although I can cope with this in isolation!)and also have: low self- esteem (which is sometimes worse than others to the point of complete low), low energy, bloatedness, lack of concentration, lack of positivity, inability to make and stick to decisions, grumpiness- it goes on.... Oh, and the periods just keep on coming! But worse than all of this is the fact that I have this constant feeling of worry, which just eats away at you and drains you of all your energy.

So, yes for me it is an effective contraception, but largely because there's just no let up at times and not a lot left to give at others!

I have heard lots of fantastic cases where people don't have any problems. After some of the negative effects I have had I would never URGE someone to try it, but I would say it suits some people and you have to weigh up all of the things you read on this site and elsewhere and decide for yourself. I have read some terrible stories though, so just keep an eye open for symptoms and take care of yourselves.

The doctor thinks that I should definitely see an improvement when the thing is removed, so fingers crossed! I would love someone to do some proper research on how women are feeling who are on it and why it affects some or not others.

Erectile Dysfunction :: Depression ? Half Minute Errections

Been having trouble maintaining an erection since the middle of January. I have seen multiple urologists over the past few months and they are all attesting my difficulty to anxiety/depression issues. I am currently being seen by a counselor and am on a depression medication to see if that helps. The medication I'm on does not hinder sexual function, so that is not worsening my erection problems. A month or so back, I had a doppler ultrasound done on my penis and I was notified that there was no sign of a venous leak. My urologist told me since this test came back perfectly fine that my erectile difficulties are all psychological.  I've been trying to stay away from touching the area... but at my age it's pretty difficult. With stimulation, I can get a near full erection. But within a half minute post-stimulation, I lose any sort of erection I had.

Onto my question... Does this sound like it could be something psychological? I've been on edge to believe that since I just hit the 4 month mark, but something seems off about this.

Back Issues :: Pain At My Right Shoulder Blade For 5 And A Half Years

I am a 55 year old female and have had back pain at my right shoulder blade for 5 and a half years. The pain sometimes extends to the end of my back just under my right arm and sometimes goes to my spine and upper shoulder. The pain is excruciating. Chiropractor for 1st. year said rib out of place and needed to strengthen muscles, but the exercises hurt too much. Went swimming as much as possible. 2nd. one said arthritis, his x-ray showed nothing at the point of pain and a little arthritis. Saw an orthopedic doctor two years ago and his x-rays showed no pinched nerves. Many questions later and after standing behind me and twisting me around he said he thought it was a nerve. He prescribed Neurontin and an MRI. Had no insurance at the time, so skipped the MRI. Still on Neurontin, but no relief. Take heavy duty pain pills and spend every night in bed on an ice pack in tears. I know I need the MRI, but do I see another ortho doc or neurologist?

2 weeks ago my partner was diagnosed with severe emphysema. An x ray showed her diaphragm is not working either. She is now on continuous O2 and lots of inhalers and meds. Birth Control :: Month Long Period After Year And A Half Of Nexplanon

I had the Nexplanon 3 year birth control implant put in February of 2013 when i was 16 years old. Up until early-mid June, I had not had any periods. Now, I have had my period on and off for almost an entire month. It is mostly spotting but enough to require the use of tampons and refrain from sexual activity. I have been pretty emotional lately and was up last night with bad cramps. Nothing in my daily schedule or eating habits has changed therefore I do not understand what could be causing this. ALSO, I have been experiencing extreme fatigue. Does anyone have ideas as to why this is occurring? I would hate to have the implant removed because this is the first time it has given me problems so far and I'm not even sure it is the cause.

*I have had the same boyfriend for 10 months so i do not think STD's would be of any relevance*

Spotting/period Few Days After Taking Pill Half Hour Late?

So I have a question about taking the pill half an hour late. Is it normal to get anywhere from spotting to your actual period a few days after taking the pill half an hour late?

I'm 20 and have been on the pill since 14. I've tried YAZ (the best by far but not covered by health care) and a few others, currently on the generic brand of Levlen Ed.

Only recently, say the last 1 - 2 years I have noticed that my body is working almost like clockwork when it comes to taking the pill. If I take it anywhere from even just 15min late (though typically occurs from half an hour late), I will undoubtedly get spotting or even my period a few days later.

I cannot find anyone on internet forums who experiences the same. A couple of hours maybe but not to this extent. Most women say they can take theirs hours apart with no effect.

My question is, is this normal and why has it only been the last few years? My body used to work just fine with the pill.

Menopause :: Period - One Year Post-menopause

Three weeks ago, to my great surprise, I started to bleed after one year. The 2-3 weeks preceding this, my breasts were so sore, I was bloated and I has the typical "stringy" discharge that I used to get before my period. I was really not expecting another period but the bleeding was heavy and lasted for just over a week.

I saw my doctor a few days ago and she that she is obliged to send me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy if the lining looks thick. She said she is not worried but I am freaking out.

Can anyone share a similar experience? I read on one website that it is actually possible to ovulate and have a period after you stop menstruating for a year. I have not had any spotting - just this one "period". Of course, everything I have read says how abnormal it is to bleed after menopause and now I'm scared that there is something serious going on. My ultrasound is booked for two days from now.
