View 3 RepliesSleep Issues :: Forget If Night Or Morning On Waking
This is the third time this has happened and I don't understand it.
I wake up in the morning and can't remember what time of day it is, have I woken from a nap? is it morning or night?
This morning I woke up feeling it was evening and it was 6.45 in the morning. I am really worried about this wondering if I could have dementia etc. I am hypothyroid and have Graves and Hashimoto's, would it be anything to do with thyroid?
I am an intelligent person who likes to keep busy. The only thing I can credit it to was perhaps an upsetting argument with my husband last night, but as I say it's happened a few times now.
Getting Erections ONLY Early Morning

Menopause :: Stuffy Nose And Sneezing In The Morning
Since my last post about the horrible and scary anxiety/dizzy episode 4 days ago I've felt just so awful! woozy lightheaded, hot and flushed really off & out of kilter...NOW this running stuffy nose & sneezing in the morning! (it's now Spring here but this only happens in the mornings) this too doesn't help with my already woozy head...always blubbering "I've never felt so off n sick n weird before" hubby just says 'you've never been 55 & menopausal before' true, but when is this going to stop, does it all get worse before getting better? I wonder if I can or will survive this? Will I ever feel well & normal again, I'm fast losing hope & positiveness...think I'll dig a big hole & climb in. I've been told to ignore it all, just carry on normally but It's hard to live & carry on normally when you feel so off & 'un-normal' if that's a word...
View 37 RepliesMenopause :: Hard / Rough Morning And Nights
Why is the morning and nights so hard? There has to be some hormonal connections coinciding with the time of night and day. The mornings are rough. I'm still tired, nervous, anxious, jittery, feelings of doom and negative thoughts. The evening around 4:00pm and beyond things seem to lift a bit. Turn night is hard, can't sleep, when I do, it's only for a short time, heart racing sometimes, nightmares and vivid dreams. It's not all the time but when it happens boy does it happen.
View 82 RepliesSleep :: Difficulty Waking Up
All my life I have struggled with waking up in the morning. I am female, aged 71, and can remember this problem going right back to my childhood. I think I may have something called Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed, I find it almost impossible to fall asleep before about 1 am, but the problem in the morning is even worse. I don't think I've ever woken naturally and feeling awake and alert. I am drowsy and dopey and half asleep and if I don't have to get to a job or a meeting I can easily fall back asleep for another 2 hours. It takes three different alarms to wake me up, and most mornings I just feel sick and awful. Do other people have this problem and how do they cope?

View 9 RepliesSleep Disorders :: Hallucination When Waking Up At Night
I have been experiencing hallucination when waking up suddenly in the night. The hallucination is usually a huge spider in the room and I always wake up people in the house screaming "look!" or "Oh my God". And in a matter of a minute or so the image disappears. I have ignored these hallucinations for sometime, but recently I hallucinated that their was someone in the room. I panicked but I could not move my entire right side. I some how managed to wake my partner and I could still not move. When I finally hard arm and leg movement back, it was difficult to move my muscles and felt I could not control them. I gets bouts of tiredness during the day and nap a lot. Is this a sign of narcolepsy? My grandmother had it. Should I worry?

I'm 16 years old, and i've been suffering from insomnia for almost a year now, and recently i've been suffering from sleep maintenance as well, with me waking up 3-4 times a night. It feels like i'm sleeping very lightly, and i always dream when i sleep now. I don't know what to do anymore. Im seeing a psychologist today, and i hope she can help me. My appearance, health and grades are going down because of this. It's making me very anxious. Even if i relax, i can't fall asleep sometimes. I've started exercising 2-3 hours before bed and it helps me fall asleep a bit more quickly but doesn't help me stay asleep.
View 2 RepliesWaking Up Choking / Lump In The Back Of Throat Feeling
I am a 40 yr old male who has been dealing with a choking issue for some time now. What happens is when I lay down to sleep I will wake up a short time later feeling like there is a lump of junk in the back of my throat that I can't cough up. I ended up in the hospital the first time it happened and they ran x rays and checked me out and said they couldn't find anything wrong other than my throat is narrow and seemed irritated. We later found out we had mold in our home and moved out as my entire family was affected by it but now the problem is back and it's only happening to me and not my family. I've tried benedryl to see if it was allergy related and it didn't help,. Sometimes it will start with me just sitting in a chair and not sleeping(watching tv). Its a feeling of needing to cough up something that just isn't there but my air way feels obstructed. When it happens if I suck on a mint or a candy after about an hour it will relieve itself but if I lay down it starts up again. Anyone dealt with this or dealing with something like this?

My 40 year old sister in law has periods of dizziness and nausea on waking. Sometimes it can last for a few hours. The other day, she actually fainted. She has had hormone and heart tests which came back normal. She has young children so I'm concerned it could happen when she's alone with them. Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? She's quite an anxious person so I wondered if it could be a nervous condition.
View 6 RepliesMenopause :: Period - One Year Post-menopause
Three weeks ago, to my great surprise, I started to bleed after one year. The 2-3 weeks preceding this, my breasts were so sore, I was bloated and I has the typical "stringy" discharge that I used to get before my period. I was really not expecting another period but the bleeding was heavy and lasted for just over a week.
I saw my doctor a few days ago and she that she is obliged to send me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy if the lining looks thick. She said she is not worried but I am freaking out.
Can anyone share a similar experience? I read on one website that it is actually possible to ovulate and have a period after you stop menstruating for a year. I have not had any spotting - just this one "period". Of course, everything I have read says how abnormal it is to bleed after menopause and now I'm scared that there is something serious going on. My ultrasound is booked for two days from now.
Sleep Issues :: Night Terrors - Waking Terrors?
Last week I had what can only be described as my first Night Terror - it fit the bill from the research I've done online. Last night though, something happened which has really unnerved me - I'd been watching TV with my wife and kids and fell asleep on the sofa. I woke up, very sleepy, and went to the toilet. In the toilet I started coughing, I was struggling to breathe, and then I blanked out completely. When I became "aware" again, I was on my knees in the hallway, crying like a baby in my wife's arms. All I can remember is the coughing, a feeling of desperately NEEDING to escape, and that's it.
My wife tells me that they heard a massive noise from the bathroom, rushed out to see what was happening, and I was literally smashing up the bathroom by flailing my arms, and then sunk to my knees and crawled out into the hallway.
Now, I was awake (although sleepy) when this started, so... and, I just don't know. Am I potentially a danger to my family? I have no control over this, how far can it go? How can this happen when I am awake?
Also, this morning when I woke up, it was almost on me again, from waking up, I shot out of bed, panicking, breathing ridiculously hard, right on the edge - luckily i was able to reign it in and stop it from developing.
Help please, I have no history of panicking, I am a man who really doesn't fear anything, and suddenly I am scared out of my wits about what is happening. The "after-feeling" from these "attacks" leave me shaking, terrified, checking the dark corners of the rooms, and this is really not me.
