Corneal Ulcer Due To Contact Lenses - Blurry Vision

I got a corneal ulcer around 1 month ago due to contact lenses. The bacteria was pseudomonas, they told me its very dangerous because it releases enzymes that melt the cornea. It all started one night when I felt like something was in my eye and it hurt like crazy. I didn't get any sleep and in the morning I went to the hospital. They started me on vigamox every 30mins. I saw them the next day and said it antibiotic wasn't effective, so I was on tobramycin and another one(forgot the name) for the first week I went to the hospital everyday. After that every 2days. They said there was a 5%melt of my cornea and I might have permanent blurred vision. It's been a month now, the ulcer is gone but as expended it left a scar. My vision is blurry but the doctor said considering the size and place of the scar(middle of my line of vision) my vision is pretty good. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm not on steroids, should I be? I'm just on artificial tears now. Will my vision get better? My next appointment is next week so I will ask them what my options are with my vision.

Blurred Vision After Corneal Ulcer

Two weeks ago my eye began to tear continuously, and I was sensitive to sunlight. The next day my eyes were paining and were red and tearing, and I could not stand the presence of light. Whenever light appeared, I had sharp pain in my right eye and constant tearing. I tried to sleep that night but could not. I went to a local eye doctor who said I had a corneal ulcer due to bacterial infection through contact lens and referred me to a cornea specialist. The specialist prescribed me a number of antibiotic drops such as Vigamox, Amphotericin B etc. Next time I visited( 5 days later), he said the ulcer was healing. He cultured my cornea scraping and it was determined as pseudomonas spp. So I was prescribed ciplox(as it was determined sensitive to ciprofloxacin) and Vigamox. 7 days later, my eye is now almost clear and the pain and redness is gone but my vision is incredibly blurry, as if I am looking through a cloud. At times, my vision seems to be getting better, but then, particularly in the morning, it is blurry. Can anyone tell me how their vision came back during the healing process? Was it a steady progression or uneven? When did the blurriness go completely? How long does the recovery process last? How do I know how much scarring has or will occur? My doctor tells me that he does not know how much scarring I will have or how much of my vision will return, so I am very scared. I am a software developer, and now I can't read anything clearly and all activities have been on hold. This is particularly hard for me as I just can't sit at home all day. Would someone please share his experience or knowledge? Thank you, Sananda.

Lisinopril - Light Headed, Dizzy And Blurry Vision

I have damage to my heart from chemotherapy I had as a child and it is progressing and I have now been put on Lisinopril to try to help keep it from worsening any further or as quickly. I do not have high BP (my BP tends to run normal to a little low if anything). I started on Lisinopril Wed. night and Saturday morning I went grocery shopping & while pushing the cart and walking I got extremely light headed, a little dizzy, & my vision went a little blurry, I thought I was going to pass out. I ended up having to stop and sit down for a few minutes. I was able to complete my shopping but had to stop several times throughout due to the sudden light headed feeling coming back. I have never had this happen before and I don't know if my body just needs to adjust to the Lisinopril or if it is lowering my BP too much and causing these issues. Do I just need to let my body adjust or do I need to call doc & get back off of it.

Pituitary :: Adrenal Crisis - Brain Fog, Light Sensitivity, Blurred Vision, Weakness

Hi, I’m hoping some people can hopefully give me some advice please regarding treatment. My history: I’m 30, diagnosed with secondary adrenal insufficiency via an insulin tolerance test. I have borderline low hypothyroidism, low prolactin. No cysts. I am 40kg, 5ft tall so I am very petite.

I currently take hydrocortisone after each meal 8am-4 mg, 12m-4mg, 3.30pm-4mg, 8pm- 3 mg. I have to take my medication following food to reduce the intensity of the spike. I also cannot tolerate more than 5mg at one time without getting awful side effects of anxiety and panic when the tablet peaks in my blood at 30 minutes. Each doe I take only lasts around 2.5-3 hours. If I am to take 10mg at once I feel ‘high’ and ‘rushy’ and anxious when it kicks in then after 3 hours its starts to drop and I feel low cortisol again.

I feel like I am swinging all day every day. I am still so fatigued, have very bad dizziness and brain fog, light sensitivity, blurred vision, weakness, leg and arm cramps, reactive hypoglycemia and achy.

4 weeks ago I ended up having an adrenal crises, yes it was horrendous and scary but I got through it and in a way it  was a blessing because it has been a BIG wake up call that I need to stop being scared of trying new medication in fear of getting sicker and realised I have got to try and get myself well.

I have been so unwell since I was 21 I am now 30. ….i have lost so much of my life and I am sacred I am never going to get better or managed.

My consultant prescribes medrol a while ago and I have been too scared to start to but after my crises I started it.  I am now taking 1mg Medrol in the morning and then 3 more doses of hydrocortisone at 4mg, 4mg and 2.5mg…

When I first started the Medrol I could feel it working but now its like I can not feel it and by 4 hours later I am feeling hypoglycaemic, weak nauseas etc…  I am feeling so unwell after I eat a meal, like all my bodies energy is wiped out from digesting my food and im now lying in bed weak, giddy and lots of pain cramps in my arms and legs…

I have low blood pressure and my consultants suggested

fludrocortisone.  I just don’t know what to do anymore.  My consultants saying I shouldn’t feel so unwell and im just so lost.

Has anyone been on Medrol and can give advice on this.  Im very petite, 5ft and 40 kg…I just feel so up and down and struggling with it all and also feel my symptoms get worse or better during certain times of the month..

i also cannot tolerate many carbohydrates because my blood glucose pikes very high at 1 1/2 hours post eating and drops every low by 21/2-3 hours.

I’ve now had to set up a backup carer to help when am unwell because i am on my own with 2 young children.  I am getting help with them now and also trying to get support for taking them to school…im slowly getting there

I have also done a month of blood tests looking at progesterone and  estrogen and have found a pattern in some of my symptoms..  I most definitely feel my worst when I am coming off my period, stopping bleeding where I start to feel cold and foggy and nauseous I then when ovulating feel at my worst and the 2 days when my estrogen was highest I had severe anxiety, tremor, agoraphobia, intense drowsiness after eating and these symptoms always disappear once I ovulate and start seeing progesterone mucous .  Apart from these symptoms which come on with my cycle I suffer with all my other symptoms throughout the whole month with increase and decrease throughout my cycle.

I have included a lot of tests below and anyone who feels they can help would be so much appreciated. Thank you for your time

Epilepsy :: Vision Blurry

I was diagnosed with epilepsy about a year ago. I have for the past 3 year had strange eye sight. When i spoke with my neurologist she had never heard of it before. The only way that i can describe it is the vision you get after about 2-3 pints. I have been to the opticians and my eyes are perfectly fine. It is worse when i am outside and can make me feel dizzy and light weighted. Any advise would be appreciated. It makes me not want to go out.

Corneal Abrasion Getting Better By Muro 128 - Blurred Vision

I posted earlier about a corneal abrasion from ten days ago and vision still blurred, though I believe abrasion is healed. Still had corneal edema causing the blurriness in one eye.Doc giving me steroid & antibiotic drops & anti-inflam drops. Nothing helped much till he added Muro 128 and that made a big improvement in blurry vision getting better. Wondering how long one takes this and if anyone else has had an experience with it?  Is it taken instead of, rather than in addition to steroid drops?

Corneal Burn? Due To Camera Flash - Blurred Vision

A year and three months ago I was taking pictures with my camera, and using an on camera flash. The brightness of the light did not bother me while I was taking pictures, or I would have lowered it. A few minutes later I started to get pain in my right eye, and then burning, soreness, throbbing, and then my eye began feeling like a rock. My eye felt this way for months. I did get to an optician a week or so later, and she checked my eye and said that it was just severe dry eye. She told me that she checked the surface, back and around my eye, but did not see anything. I have been to her three times since. At my last exam a month ago I was told my left eye got worse, but my right eye was fine...my eye still feels like a rock on most days, but it's also very sore and like I have something burning the inner corner. I am sensitive to bright light, and if I cover my left eye I can see that my right eye seems to be less clear overall. Everything seems darker, colors aren't as bright, and I can barely see any detail in my eye right. My left eye seems fine, and I can see clear. I was told to use eye drops daily. I have been for over a year. The only ones that work and didn't aggravate my eyes are the Systane gel drops. However, even they do not seem to be working anymore. At this point I am very scared, and I am trying to find an ophthalmologist under my insurance. I figure a real MD might know more. Anyone ever experience this or something similar. I feel like my vision has gotten so much worse in just a year, and the thought of it getting even worse so fast is horrifying.

Vision Disorders :: Sensitivity To Screens - Computer, Phone And TV

I'm 19 years old, I've had glasses for a long time (got me newest prescription 5 months ago), and I'm always on my computer. I spend many hours a day on it because I have college online and all of my hobbies include using a PC. But for the past few days, my eyes have started hurting within a few minutes of looking at any bright screens. Even scrolling up and down through web search results makes me a little queasy. Nothing has changed about my lifestyle or health except that I have a rough sinus infection that started around the time the eye problems did.

Again let me reiterate: this has never ever happened before. I'm not on the computer anymore now than I have been in the past, this is just a sudden thing.

I seem to be alright when I'm not looking at a screen, but I haven't driven anywhere so I'm afraid the motion my make it difficult. I scheduled an eye exam already, but it'll be two weeks before I can go in so is there anything that might ease my mind, or at least make sense of my situation?

Mini Migraines :: Without Aura, Body And Ear Pains With Light Sensitivity

I've had migraines a good chunk of my life and I haven't had one in roughly 9 months but I have been experiencing almost like mini migraines? in that I experience pain very similar to a migraine but without the aura or having to lie down or take it seriously. I guess these could be tension headaches, but I'm not sure? I've also been experience other symptoms, including: ear pain, sensitivity to light/sound, ringing in the ears, and various pains all over my body. these symptoms can happen with a migraine but lately they've been constant and if not, happening often enough that I'm noticing. I've had a brain scan and nothing. I don't think it's ever been like this before and I'm curious as to what it could be? As in, a starting point. I do have migraine medication but all it does is put me to sleep, it doesn't help with the pain. Not sure if that matters.

Nervous System :: Head Pressure, Eye Floaters, Light Sensitivity

I have an undiagnosed condition which started three years ago, in December 2009. My family doctor doesn't take me seriously, so I am switching to another doctor soon. I'm male, 26 years old, non-smoker & non-drinker. Blood pressure on average 130/80, pulse rate around 70. I am 6 foot 1 tall, and weigh around 214 pounds (97 kg).

My symptoms:-

- Head pressure (especially around the temples)

- Feeling my heartbeat pounding in my head (i don't hear it, but i definitely feel it)

- Massive eye floaters in both eyes (always present)

- Light sensitivity (always present)

- Slight blurry vision from time to time (depending on the severity of the "head pressure")

- Eye pain (also depending on the severity of the "head pressure")

What makes it worse:-

- When I eat something very salty

- When I am very nervous, or very angry

What makes it better:-

- When I press on my temples

- When I tie a piece of cloth around my head

- Diazepam 5mg

Worth mentioning:-

- No fatigue (i have a lot of strength & energy)

- No appetite loss

- No sleep problems

A detailed history of my condition:My problem began in December 2009 as just a strange feeling in my head. I started to literally feel my pulse pounding inside my head. This was accompanied by a feeling of pressure in the head, especially around the temples and around the eyes. It felt like extremely high blood pressure, but only in the head. I ignored all of this, thinking it's something that will go away quickly, but I was wrong.
After a couple of months, in the spring of 2010, the head pressure decreased somewhat, but then I began to have eye problems. There was a dull tension-type pain, first in my right eye, then in my left eye. This type of eye pain is very difficult to describe: A strong tension/pressure type of pain, which feels exactly like the pressure in the entire head. This lasted for several days, and then comes the worst part: massive eye floaters in both eyes, accompanied with light sensitivity. The eye pain went away, but the floaters & light sensitivity remained, as well as the head pressure. The floaters & light sensitivity are always present, 24/7, so it's definitely not a migraine.

The problem "stabilized" in the summer of 2010, and remained very stable or "tolerable" I should say. Head pressure reduced by more than 50%, no eye pain, and only 5 or 6 floaters. Then in October 2012, for unexplained reasons, the whole thing came back with a punch. The pulse pounding in the head, the head pressure, and the eye pain all increased about threefold. Then a few days later, new eye floaters came along (more than 10 new floaters!). Now the whole thing is somewhat stable, but definitely not as good as it was before.

Why was it "ok" for more than two years, and then came back like this? The only thing I can think of is bodybuilding. In October 2012 I began to lift weights, mostly benchpress, and about a week after that, the problems began to intensify. This is the only thing I can think of that might have played a role.

Here are the exams I have had done in the past few months:-

- Extensive blood work, including TSH test (thyroid function): all clear, except for somewhat high cholesterol (255)

- Abdominal ultrasound: completely normal

- Ophthalmoscopy with dilated pupils: no retinal tears, no holes, no damaged blood vessels

- VEP (Visual Evoked Potential) test: completely normal

- Carotid doppler ultrasound: completely normal (I really insisted on the carotid doppler ultrasound, because of the feeling of high blood pressure in the head.)

I didn't have health insurance for a long time, which is why I started to see doctors only a few months ago. Now, I have learned to control this condition by avoiding salty foods, avoiding stress, and avoiding weightlifting. By "controlling" the condition I mean preventing it from getting worse. But nonetheless I want to know, and absolutely have to know, what is causing this problem, and how to treat it.My family doctor does not want to do an MRI or a CT scan. He thinks this is all stress related without any physiological causes whatsoever, which I think is completely absurd, and this is the reason why I'm switching to another doctor very soon. In any case, my questions are as follows:

1.) Is it possible that these symptoms could be caused by a deformity of the neck and/or the spine? I have had a really terrible posture since I was a little kid, but my family doctor (as well as my neurologist) dismisses this idea, saying there's no chance it could cause these problems.

2.) Is it worth doing a contrast-enhanced thyroid ultrasound?

3.) Should I do an electrocardiogram & treadmill stress test?

4.) What medical exams would you recommend me? MRI? CT? If so, exactly what kind of MRI? Cervical? Head only? Whole body? I really don't know much about this subject.

5.) Is it possible for the eyes to really be healthy, but for a person still to experience floaters & light sensitivity, for example because of something neurological?

If there is anything at all you could say about this topic, I would really appreciate it. To this day I am not able to find on the internet one disease that has all of these symptoms. The whole thing really feels as if the blood pressure in my head is extremely high, but obviously that's not it. I would very much like to know if you were in my shoes, what exams you would like to have done.

I am pregnant with my second child and 20 weeks into the pregnancy.  I have had some really bad headaches this entire pregnancy so far but the dr told me that's typical as I had some severe headaches before pregnancy.  Now the headaches have gotten worse, about a week ago I started suffering from blind spots in my right eye and every time I would close my eyes I would see this bright ring flash in both eyes.  After about two days of this I went to my eye dr who said my actual eye is fine but it may be a neuro issue.  Well it has continued but I don't have insurance nor a lot of money so I have been to another dr yet and last night and today I am also suffering from temporary hearing loss when my headaches get bad and my vision starts leaving me (now in both eyes) .  I am scared out of my mind and just trying to figure out some type of explanation as to what might be going on.
