I have lived with pain in my testicles ever since I made the biggest mistake of my life by having a vasectomy. This operation just has to be the most stupid thing I`ve ever done.
It was told it was ¬nothing much` but have been in pain for over sixteen years and it only gets worse. The long term risks have not been well enough explained and is much more common than was told to me.
The best advise I could give anyone thinking about the snip is DON`T
I had a vasectomy a week ago and I'm experiencing a decent amount of pain in my left testicle.
I noticed while urinating that when I pulled forward on my penis as I finished that my left testicle hurts and is being pulled forward with the skin.
While on the pain meds I tested a bit more, as I continue to pull forward the left testicle comes forward more and if I tilt upwards it is also pulled outward so that it is standing out at a good angle.
When I do this there is a pocket of loose skin behind the testicle where it would normally be sitting.
(Trying to be as descriptive as possible here, if I were to lay on my back with an erection my testicles would be standing up as the highest point.)
I can feel under the incision that there is extra mass on the left side that seems to be connected to the testicle which is not present on the right side.
Basically any movement of my left testicle is painful, holding it closer to the incision site seems to help.
I'm worried that something coming off of the testicle got stitched in on accident or that it is just healing that way. This CANNOT be a permanent thing.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so did your testicle movement go back to normal on its own and if so how quickly?
I am a early-20s male and I have used dildos on myself in the past (with lubricant), and I am wondering if perhaps I irritated my prostate or tore my rectum or something. My testicles hurt, as does my right tail bone area, and the pain shoots down the leg too, to the right leg only. This has been going on for months. My doctor did a CAT scan from my abdomen to my bladder, did an X ray of the area, and blood tests, and found nothing. I don't know what to do or what test to request. I don't bleed out of my anus or anything. What do I do?View 4 Replies
I did not find it good. It is not an easy option. I was done over 4 years ago
I still have mild pain and that feeling of sore and swollen testicles all the time. Prior to the Vas I was never aware of my testicles. After the op. they felt very painful for much of the first year. It is difficult to describe how foul it was but I found I could not sleep on my side and the pain would often wake me up. I think emotionally it was a trauma and I was off sex altogether for about a year. I have found since resuming sex for me does not have quite the same kick and I am not so interested(yes I know I am older but I think the link is to direct and immediate). I also think the operation damaged my self confidence.
I had it on the NHS. My wife had a problem with a UTI at 45 and Dr suggested I speak to them on the phone. Dr consultation involved a phone call only. They recommended a fellow GP to do it and when I asked about different methods insisted the method was a good as any. No other forms of Birth Control suggested apart female sterilization in spite of asking.
One nasty surprise was that the Anaesthetic failed- extreme pain for a brief moment - operation took nearly an hour.
My operation went smoothly and was done by a very professional doctor at our local hospital. It doesn't cost anything at our government hospitals and the operation is done by local private doctors. I am just a bit confused as to how much swelling and discoloration there should be. My entire scrotum and penis is purple and my testicles feel like they would do if I had jumped into a swimming pool and stung them! I have been unable to find any information regarding discoloration and even seeing pictures of others makes me wonder if I am bleeding or have bled too much internally?View 2 Replies
I'm not sure if I can post pictures here to show what I mean. I had my vasectomy 3 days ago. It seems like my left testicle it attached to the incision site. My right one is fine, and hangs where it should, but the left is up high at the base of my penis, eand the incision site is pulled in like a deep dimple. Will this go away on it's own or will I need another surgery?View 1 Replies
I do have an appointment booked with GP. Its about 7 ,months since I had my vasectomy, and still experience pain in the left side, sometimes it does get uncomfortable and sore. What I have noticed too is my penis smells and I often get a small build up of white stuff on the penis head under my foreskin. I wash it every day, but notice it seems to happen once I start urinating, I haven't notice any change of smell when I urinate though. Can infection be caused this long after the procedure?View 1 Replies
Is anyone past that time yet? Will this tight feeling in my hip eventually go away? I don't have pain however, I still can't walk a long way without the tight feeling bothering me.View 40 Replies
The best way about a vasectomy is to NOT have one. Anyone who thinks that they have got away without problems just can not say anything as PVPS can come on at any time until we die I know a friend who is in his mid-seventies and has more pain than in the whole of his life.View 4 Replies
I had a vasectomy carried out under general anaesthetic (due to complications) on the NHS. It was done on a day ward.
I had no problems or complications other than a slight infection around the stitches. It took nine months before I got the all clear for having a zero sperm count though.
My chest always feels tight, I get chest pain, my heart beats powerfully and frequently of a night. And I'm so paranoid I have something wrong with my lungs, it's really worrying me now. Firstly, are they symptoms of something serious? And secondly, if they are how do I go about getting my lungs tested?View 2 Replies
I am 20 year old male. Not sexually active. OK for 4 hours now I have been experiencing a weird dull ache/pain/discomfort on the left side of my left testicle, and also slight discomfort in lower abdomen. The discomfort on the testicles is ONLY on the left side of my left testicle.
For the past hour I have been going crazy looking over all the possible problems that might be. However all these problems seem to have some kind of physical symptom. I checked my balls and I couldn't find anything wrong on the outside.
A week ago, i was playing soccer for about an hour. Seconds afterwards, I felt an uncomfortable feeling in my testicles. The next day was the same uncomfortable feeling. The pain wasn't too bad until exactly 6 days later when i woke up in bed and found that the pain was beyond what i could handle. Out of 10 i would describe this pain as a solid 8 and half. Anytime i stand up or sit down it feels like i've just been kicked there.Everytime i cough and sneeze the pain is excrutiatingly bad in my testacles and just above them in my groin. anytime i tense my core (abdomen) i get the same feeling of being kicked in the balls. I have searched google and what makes most sense so far is the theory of the testicular muscles extending up towards the stomach or abdomen being too short. Please if anyone knows anything of how this can be treated, let me know.View 5 Replies
I've been having pain in my calf for about a month now.in the last couple days the pain has started jumping around. To the sides of my calf,to behind my knee now it's in my groin as well. Also my right testicle hurts(right leg is where my pain is).I finally got to see my doctor today and he thinks I might have a Pinched sciatic nerve and is sending me for lower back xray.so does sciatica cause this dull ache that comes and goes in different parts of my leg?can it also be causing my testicle pain?View 3 Replies
had a vasectomy march 13 2015. returned to work the following monday after 2 days of rest. after 10 days i went back due to pain in my right testicle and the fact that is was sitting way to high. dr said everything looked ok and not to worry. 2 weeks later i went back again due to the same issues. once again, he said everything looked fine but that he wanted to see me back in 2 months to see if i am still having the same problems. as i sit her typing, i still have pain in my right ball, and a pain in my lower abdomen on the right side, and my right ball still sits too high. i have about 6 weeks before i go back to the dr. anybody else have this problem?View 6 Replies
I had a no-scalpel vasectomy just over a month ago. After the first week, I noticed the cut ends of my vas (the part inside my scrotum that goes up into my body) were staying stiff, swollen and painful; the left side more than the right. After another week, I made a "nurse's visit" to the doctor because he was too busy for an appointment. He came in, gave my testicles a quick grab and declared the swelling and stiffening a normal inflammatory response.
It's now been two more weeks and the condition has not improved significantly. Physical activity (like yard work) and certain clothing increase the irritation and makes the inflammation worse.
Am I just a slow healer and this will eventually go away? Or have I settled into a known permanent side effect?
Not told about post vasectomy pain by Dr ,Which affects approx 5% of patients with some like myself pain does not go away , Treatments have poor success rate .A good Dr will clearly tell you this and you can then make your own mind up but Many don't as most men are put off when they find this out ! Do your research first before the Quick Snip leaves you with long term pain that can be very difficult if not impossible to get rid off .View 3 Replies
My husband had a vasectomy 2 weeks ago. 4 days after the operation he had severe pain and his testicles swelled up to double the size they normally are. We went back to the doctor and he said that he had a rare infection - put him on antibiotics and pain meds.
The antibiotics are now finished and although the swelling has gone down, his left testicle is rock hard and hasn't dropped. It is still painful sometimes and the pain runs up to and around to his lower back. We've been phoning the Urologist every day but he's either in theater or his is busy and doesn't return our calls.
Could it be possible that something went wrong? What can be done to fix the problem? And is it safe to resume normal sexual intercourse I'm afraid something bad will happen!
I just had a complicated vasectomy. I had an undescended testicle when I was 12 that had a lot of scar tissue around it. The urologist that I saw said no problem but it would be done in the hospital because he had a hard time feeling the vas tube on the repaired testicle. He said it would take 10 minutes and it ended up taking a hour. He told me I would be sore for a long time, and he was right. It has been 2 weeks and I have begun to get morning erections. There is a string/tube that seems to be stretching around the base of my penis. It is painful when stretched. It seems to lead to the incision by the repaired testicle. Do you think the urethra tube that goes into my penis got sutured into the incision area? I urinate fine. Also, one vas tubes were described as pink-tan rubbery tissue and the one from the repaired one was described as white rubbery tissue. Do I need to be watchful of testicular cancer?View 2 Replies
