Mercury - Comet :: 1963 - Pulls Slightly Left Whenever Brake And Motor Almost Dies

My son has a 1963 Mercury Comet with a 170 straight 6 and automatic trans. Originally it would die when he made a sharp left. We fixed that by rebuilding the carb and putting in a new float. Then we found that the back brakes weren't working and had to replace a clogged brake line. Now for the weird problem. Whenever he brakes it pulls slightly left and the motor almost dies. If he anticipates the pull and steers right the car keeps running beautifully. I am assuming that the pull is probably caused by not getting all of the air out of the brake lines, but why does the car almost die unless he steers right when braking? The car does not die anymore when he makes left turns. These are non power hydraulic single cylinder brakes so there is no vacuum connection involved. The fuel filter and pump have been replaced.

Dodge - Grandcaravan :: 2002 - Engine Stalls When Turning Left

I have an odd issue. I bought my car used from the dealer. The fuel pump was replaced last December, as well as had an oil change. The fuel pump died right after the oil change but are seemingly unrelated since the pump was bad when i bought it. After the pump was replaced my van stated acting up over the next couple days. The fuel gauge would dance randomly. That has since settled down. Now when i make left turns, the rpms drop and i have to pump the had to get it going again or else it completely stalls out in the middle of an intersection. .. it had been steadily getting more frequent and only on left turns. Right turns runs fine.

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Left Front Brake Is Engaging Randomly When Turning Left

2010 F-150 King Ranch. Randomly when turning left, it feels like the left front brake is engaging and it sounds like your anti-lock brakes when you come to a stop on slush or snow. The truck slows with your foot still on the gas, Saturday it came to a complete stop before it released.

I have had it to 2 Ford dealerships, the first could not get the symptom to occur on a test drive and told me there was nothing they could do because they did not now what to look at.

The dealer I bought it from got it to act up, replaced the IWE 2 weeks ago and 3 days later was still doing same thing. My wife dropped the truck at the dealer again Weds.morning, she told them it did it on the way there. I called at 4:30 to check and they said they drove it 2 times and it did not act up.

Mercury - Villager :: Scraping Noise Only In The Left Front Wheel Area

2000 Mercury Villager. Noise in the left front wheel area only. Listened to both sides and zero noise on the right side. It's a metallic scraping noise. It's increase frequency as you speed up much like a train does as it speeds up. And stops when you push on the brakes. Doesn't seem to be related to steering.

Mercury - Monterey :: Power Steering Leak / Squeaking Noise While Turning

Last week, on our mercury monterey, we found that the level of power steering fluid had dropped and steering was making squeaking noise while turning. Filled up the fluid and it worked. Today when checked again, i am seeing drop in level again. So certainly there is some leak. Can we find it at home? Also is it safe to fill the fluid and drive or should we get it fixed asap?

Mercury - Sable :: Windscreen Sprayer System / Small Amount Of Liquid Dribbles Out Of Left Nozzle

Problems with the windscreen fluid sprayer on my Mercury sable 2001. One nozzle works properly, but only a small amount of liquid "dribbles" out of the left nozzle. I could remove the material from the hood that covers the hose system and probably repair the situation. However, that is much work and replacing the material onto the underside of the hood may be difficult. Is there a simple solution for this problem?

Plymouth :: 1963 - Overheated When Driving / Coolant Loss

Several years ago my '63 Valiant had some overheating issues, which I resolved with some stop-leak. This weekend, feeling neglectful, I washed her, added a quart of oil, and added some premixed coolant. That evening when I drove it, it overheated. I know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but now what do I do? It's obviously lost coolant. I'm leaning towards putting more stop leak and more coolant, but I don't want to make things worse. I'd rather not have to replace the radiator right now, but I will if I have to.

Holden :: 1963 - Front Drum Brakes Pulling And Shuddering

My 1963 Holden has drum brakes all round. The fronts had always been a problem pulling and shuddering. I have had the drums machined and fitted new shoes and adjusted them up correctly. The shoes are the correct fit in the machined drums.

They are now working really well when cold. Once they heat up I am getting a bit of shudder, nowhere as bad as before but still annoying. No longer pulling to any great extent. My question is, why would the shudder only happen after driving for a while and the brakes warm up?

Ford Fuel System :: 1963 - 2100 Carburetor Won't Idle?

I rebuilt a 1963 ford 2B crburetor with manual choke. Put the carburetor on and it runs very rough. Won't go below 800 rpm or it dies and I need to choke it to start. Thought it was a vacumn leak so sprayed WD -40 and no change in idle. So pulled off the carburetor and put on the previous carburetor (with electric choke) and it runs great. I want to use the manual choke to hook up the cable though. I replaced everything in the carb. What do you think it is?

Ford - Thunderbird :: 1963 - Intermittent Idle When Warm Up After Substantial Drive

Engine is a 69 390, fresh rebuild by the PO... Aluminum intake manifold and new Edelbrock 4bbl Drop in Crane ignition.

Runs great... Except when its warm out, or even on cold days when its warmed up after a substantial drive..

AT that point here is what happens: No issue until I shut it off then it diesels badly, THEN.. When I restart it will not idle, dies.. If I keep my foot on the accelerator it will keep running, but not well.. If I let it run for a good while, 5-10 mins, it smooths out... Consistently acts like this .. Again.. Not when the engine is cold, and not on a cold day until it really warms up..

I suspected a vacuum leak? Replaced any suspicious vac tubing.. Cant get to the AT modulator easily, have not checked it yet?? Also suspect the intake manifold??

I have swapped out two different generators and regulators now and it is still doing it.
