Ford - Explorer :: Got Code PO442 - Vacuum Hose Leak?

I popped a code this morning PO442 emission control evap [small leak]. Would this be a vacuum hose leak? I did both heads about a month ago. Any way to narrow down the troubleshooting on this problem?

Ford - Explorer :: 2007 - Hose Hanging Down From Under The Engine On Driver Side

Yesterday, I saw a hose, ~1/2 ID hanging down from under the engine on the drivers side. Tried moving it around to see where it would reach to so I could find where it disconnected from to no avail. The end that's still connected appears to be going toward the firewall, but without living the truck I can't see where exactly it's going to. It appeared dry until I lifted and then a small amount reddish fluid dripped out. Fluid levels that I could check appeared normal. The truck seems to be running fine, engine smooth, no trans slipping, breaks normally. 2007 explorer limited 4x4 v8... What this hose might be?

Ford - Explorer :: 2002 - Oil Cooler - Coolant Leak On One Of External Line / Hose Bib Elbow

The oil cooler mounted above the oil filter on my 2002 Explorer 4.0L V6 has a major coolant leak on one of the external line/hose bib elbow. I've googled Explorer oil coolers and I've searched this forum with no luck. Can you bypass it without any problems mechanically or electronically (throwing error codes)? I have already purchased a new cooler and the lower oil cooler line. I'm just wondering if I should return the parts and bypass it. If I go through the replacement, I noticed the cooler is mounted by a pass through threaded tube with a hex head molded into it for fastening/loosening purposes. What size hex head socket it is?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Rear Axle Vent Hose Missing?

I had a loud whine from the rear axle of my 04 SCREW and had the bearings replaced at the dealership. It has been about a year/12k miles since it was done and I just noticed that the vent hose is missing. I'm not sure if they left it off or if it fell off on its own. Anyway, my question is, do I need to replace the fluid once I put a new hose on? I'm not sure how much if any dirt or water might have gotten in there. Also, where does the hose go up to? I figure it must clip to the frame somewhere.

Suburban :: 97 - Only Front AC Gets Cold After Hose Replacement

My problem is that I had to replace the hose to and from the compressor, it had a bad Schroeder valve and was leaking. Now only the front A/C gets cold, and I am wondering if there are 2 orifices, one in each line. I have only found one in the front A/C, and the parts store said there was only one.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2000 - Run Rough - Big Hose At Rear Of Upper Intake?

I just replaced the engine in my F--150 with one from a van that had only 60K miles on it. It still runs rough and misses. Not as bad as the earlier engine that had dropped a valve. While trying to find the problem, I moved a large vacuum? hose at the rear of the engine maybe 1 inch diameter and it nearly fell off the barb at the back It is also connected at the other end to some type of small metal can. When I pulled on this it fell off and the engine died.

Also need the smaller 5/8 in diameter hose at front of air intake tube. I need a size or a pert number for this hose as I cannot crawl back onto the motor very many times due to a spinal problem. I would like to get this hose and then get under the firewall only one time. I am having issues with this truck, bought is used at auction running rough. Replaced engine with one that was supposed to be a good one, but it runs rough again..

I need to add that New platinum [plugs were installed and the coils were off the old engine that had maybe 50 miles on them and were from NAPA. I only hope htis hose is my problem. However I cannot find any part number or anything on it...

Ford - Explorer :: 1996 - Rear Differential Was Leaky / Loud Whine Noise In Rear

Well i picked up a 96 4x4 with the 4.0 a few weeks ago and been fixing stuff weekly that i find wrong. One thing i noticed was the rear diff was leaky but couldn't get the fill plug out so left if for now. Last night my wife was on interstate and it just started making a loud noise so she pulls over calls me. I get there and drive it and it makes a woowoowoo noise and it got louder as speed increased. She was 3 miles from the exit so i drove it about 15-20 to get it off interstate than another 2 miles to her sisters. We let it sit for a few hours and found a flatbed to haul it home, and when we finally got home i drove it off the flat bed and now it was making a loud clunky noise. Parked it in drive till today. Cracked open the rear and no fluid came out.

Inspecting all the gears looked good no metal in bottom so i went and got a new rear cover and 3 qt. of fluid. Put it back together and the woowoowoo was still there but seemed to slowly go away as i drove it around the block. So what else could be going on here or do i need to drive it and warm up the fluid so it circulates? I also noticed a sheeee sound like metal on metal when braking but i changed all 4 rotors and both pads last week but i noticed the brakes in the rear that look like drum brakes was bare but i assume that is only for the ebrake so didn't bother changing them yet. Could those be hitting the inside of the rotor and making the metal to metal noise?

I have a 2000 focus ZTS with about 190,000 mile. Near the back of the valve body near firewall I have a loud suction of air sound. I've checked all vacuums and they are good. I was told it's the air control valve but not sure. The car idles rough at all times and when I turn it off is the sound sounds like it's draining out.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2003 - Sort Of Suction Noise In The Cabin

So upon start up of my 2003 Jetta GLI 24v VR6 I hear a noise in the cabin. Its hard to describe but almost sounds like suction of some sort. At hist i thought maybe the heat was on and the blower sounded weird but it was off. It does seem to increase or decrease wit RPM's and from drivers seat it almost sounds like its coming from glove box area. So maybe the car has no cabin filter? IDK I just bought the car and Im inexperienced with the VR6 platform.

Ford - Explorer :: Starts Only When Cold

I have a 'mysterious' problem, that has stumped Ford mechanics and everyone else that I've taken it to; my 1991 Explorer will 'start' COLD,drive great as far as you want, but don't cut the key off!!! It will not start 'hot'!! You have to let it 'cool' all of the way back to cold!!! I have driven it all day long, making stops of up to three hours, and it never quit ONCE!! Used a lot of gas !!! We've changed all types of parts BUT nothing has worked... I put it in a 'Garage' to be looked at and all they did was 'blow' the engine up. They didn't fix my mysterious problem and now won't release the car, unless I pay them.. I got the tires off at night!!!

Ford - Explorer :: 2000 - When Cold Won't Idle / Tries To Die?

2000 Explorer with the 4.0 SOHC.

It starts fine under all conditions but when cold, like in the 30s or lower, it doesn't want to remain idling, yet no CEL comes on. New fuel pump. The throttle body is cleaned, as are the injectors. It runs super once it gets past the cold startup issue.

I was thinking a sensor is getting weak but not weak enough to set the CEL.

Ford - Explorer :: 2005 - Clicking Noise In Cold

I have a 2005 Ford Explorer. Every time I start my car and it has been off for more than a couple of hours it makes a clicking noise that goes away as the car warms up. This happened once last fall and I took the car in for an oil change and the noise got much better then completely stopped. It just came back within the last couple of weeks, but I just had an oil change about a month ago. I checked the oil and it's not low. The noise was going away after less than a minute, but now it has started lasting more like five minutes (depending on how long it takes me to get on the freeway). By the time I arrive to work the car is quiet.

I keep reading that this probably has something to do with the lifters. Some people say that it might be engine sludge, etc and that a cleaning agent might be useful. Other people say that cleaning agents might be harmful. Someone told me I just need to get my lifters replaced. That's an expensive repair. I am just not sure what to do and I am afraid that just taking it to my mechanic will lead to getting new lifters whether completely necessary or not and I can't really afford it.
