Acura - TL :: Stalling Out When Trying To Restart After Turned Off
Lately my car has been stalling out after trying to start it again after it has been recently turned off. Could this be the fuel injectors or the oxygen sensor. I must admit, the car manufacturer suggest using high test gas but I have been using the medium grade.. This condition is not consistent. It has bad periods and then it will be fine for a long period. The car has 108,000 miles. The oxygen sensor was already replaced around 70,000 miles. No other major engine work has been done to it.

Yesterday this thing died on me twice. 30mph to 0 in nothing flat. No problems with stalling before yesterday. It's at the shop now, but they tell me they aren't finding anything and probably won't if they can't get it to die on them too. It had only been driven for about 5 minutes before each occurrence, and each time I had just topped a small hill(if that matters). The second time, it did slightly hesitate to restart and seems to me there was some light smoke from the tailend.

I have a 2003 elantra with 90 k when I'm. Driving the car it just stalls out the car never turns off it just idles and won't respond to gas pedal. I have to put the car in neutral accelerate and drop back to drive to keep driving it. Happens at all times car at normal heat , at regular driving speeds in the street any.

I am having a problem with my car stalling randomly. It happens when I am driving and it also happened when the car was idling in the driveway. I believe it to be an electrical problem as there are no lights on the dashboard when I try to turn it over, however after a few minutes it will start and run ok. At first I thought it was the fuel pump, but now I'm not so sure. There is no pattern to when it happens either. When driving the car will start sputtering then stall. I'll let it sit for a minute or so, then it starts again. What can be causing this?

Like the title says my truck has been stalling while driving. Accelerating or cruising it dies for a second, two at the most, and then just keeps chugging along again.
I thought i'd fixed the problem last year when I did injector O-rings and 50 cented my UVCH. It hadn't done it since, until two days ago. Started out with a two good solid stalls while gently accelerating up hill. I had thought maybe my fuel pickup foot had finely given up the ghost because I was below a quarter tank. But I filled her up full, and then she did it again about 50 miles of driving later.
I didn't catch the first four stalls on my torque app, because I'd just recently decided to stop logging every trip, with the thinking that it had been half a year problem free, why keep logging waiting for something that isn't going to happen. I did catch the 5th stall on the torque log. But I'm having trouble trying to figure out where it happened in a 30 min log.
First question where would yall start in tracking this thing down? Next what data actually should be logged? I think I've got some extra stuff in my logs that isn't necessary, and is maybe bogging down the system. I get one data point per second resolution on my logs. Are there ways to improve the resolution, will getting rid of some PIDs work?
Lastly I need to attack this thing smartly, without throwing time and money at unneeded parts. I had surgery and I've been out of work for 3 months and I'm looking at another 6 before I'm making money again, and there is no unemployment for the self employed. Also I only get 3-4 light weight upright hours a day to work, exceed that and I'm back on the couch battling swelling for a week.
Also is there anything I can do while driving to "flag" the stalls so I can find them more easily in the logs?
Prius Plug-in 2012-15 :: Miles To Empty Failing When Driving In EV Mode With ICE Off?
As I was trying to use up as much E10 before refueling with E0 I was watching the miles to empty and noticed what seems strange, to me. When driving in EV mode, with the ICE off the miles to empty kept falling! Apparently miles to empty somehow includes EV miles. So I checked the MTE both before and after charging and saw no change which indicates EV miles don't count. So now I would like to know what does MTE mean?

I am going on a camping trip this weekend and I thought I'd get some insight to mountain driving. I understand that going down a steep hill, one should stay in the lower gears to slow the car and prevent constant braking and brake fade. However, what is the mechanics behind this? In lower gears, what prevents the car from continuing to gain speed as I am going down the hill. Let's say I am in 1st gear and my car max out at 20 mph. How is it that the car stays at 20mph and what prevents the car from flying down a steep hill? Won't the kinetic energy of the car eventually speed up car past 20mph?

96 Acura with a weird habit. On cold mornings, after a few minutes it starts this thing where it revs up about 500 or so, then back down. It does this while parked or when driving. When driving, it still revs up, but also revs down - like it's putting in extra resistance or something; have to give it extra gas when it does that. This usually stops once it warms up. Also, it runs a fair bit higher until warmup, then settles back down to 'normal.'

My 2008 Acura with 80k+ miles seems to be making a noise when I drive, when I brake. Speed doesn't seem to make a difference although it doesn't start until after I have been driving for a few minutes. Sounds like it is coming from the rear passenger side. I have no clue as to what it could be.

What is wrong with my car. It drives fine for a while every day then out of the blue starts hesitating and sounding like it wants to shut off when we're at a traffic light. It gets worse when I am making a turn, like it hesitates to pick up speed and starts like sputtering. When my car does this the muffler starts smoking really bad. The smoke is not a black color it is white. When it feels like it's going to turn off, I have to put it in Neutral then it stops. They did say the fuel pump wasn't bad so I am assuming spark plugs??? What may be causing this problem?

I own a 2002 Acura TL- car has 100K, i am the original owner- always maintained etc.. I am having problems with the transmission- car was in accident back in 2005, and tranny was replaced..Anyways, when i back car out and then hit it in drive, car goes to neutral. also when i drive, approach stop sign, and then accelerate, car goes to netural- dealer says need new tranny- cost is 2400 plus tax.... so i was thinking of doing that but now they say there is a leak with the oil pump- i said i dont see oil leaking they say its hitting the pan, could go in a month or in a year- cost 1200 to fix.. then he said the brake lines will need to be changed evenually- again 1000 or more.....ball joints- they quoated me 625...
So they say they will give me 500 bucks for a trade in- this car is in really good conditiion except for the supposed problems they found..If they car wouldnt have these problems i would get the tranny fixed- but i dont know what to do- ball joints dont have to be replaced- they hvae a little play.. the oil leak? I mean i have a 2000 accord that the dealer says is leaking- my private mechanic says all accords leak.

A week ago my wife's car had a loud vibration in what i assumed was the tires or wheels whenever the car went over 40 mph, and got louder the faster i went. I noticed the front left tire looked a little low, and I was taking it in for an oil change anyway that day so i had them fill up the tire too. When I left it still had the same vibration all the way home. The car just sat in our garage for most of the last week with my wife driving it just around locally and I took it this morning with the plan to drop it off somewhere on my lunchbreak to get it checked out, but the vibration seems to be gone. I got it up to 90 mph and noticed nothing.
The car is an 2003 acura tl 3.2L with about 125,000 miles on it.
Acura - TL :: 2003 - Hesitation On Cold Start
When I start my car from a cold start - mostly in the AM, the car hesitates to start - but always starts. But the check engine light comes on along with the Vehicle Stability Assist indicator light and the VSA Activation Indicator lights come on. If I let the car warm up and then shut it off and restart, all lights go off except the check engine light. After two or three stops and starts (shut off and restart) the check engine light goes off.
I took it too the dealer and they said the computer indicated the cooling system had a malfunction. They did a pressure test on the system which indicated a leak. However, they could not find any coolant leaking from the radiator or belts. They only conclusion they could come to is that the head gasket "might" be cracked. The oil has not indication that the coolant is leaking into the oil.
There is no smoke coming from the tail pipes. So they said they think the exhaust is leaking into the radiator and forcing the coolant into the coolant reservoir thus leading to the engine to "overheat". BUT the engine is not overheating. if it is a cracked head gasket, will additives to the radiator such as Steelseal or blue devil really work?

My 2003 Acura TL has trouble starting if I am running errands and the car is turned off and then I turn it back on. This only occurs when the air temp is 50 degrees. I have had the local Acura dealer evaluate it without a confirmed diagnosis.

I own a 2003 MDX w/205k miles. The tranny was rebuilt at 150k. The weirdest thing started happening this week. sometimes when i am coming to a stop, the car feels like I am being rear ended and it stalls out. No check engine lights come on. it will start right back up (may take a couple of attempts to get to drive again). A mechanic who specializes in Honad/Acura thinks its the tranny. A tranny guy did a diagnostic and didn't get any codes. (the mechanic could duplicate the problem, the tranny guy couldn't). I would really like to keep the car going, but at this point sinking another 3k for a tranny is not an option.

I recently came to notice that 3 of my 4 brake lights were permanently stuck on with the inner passenger's side light working normally. I removed the panel under the driver seat and found that a piece attached to the pedal arm that pushes in the brake light switch had broken. I replaced the broken piece and now all the brake lights except for the inner passenger's side light function normally, which no longer works at all when pushing the brake pedal*. Some additional info: When using the key fob to lock/unlock the doors, all the lights function normally.

I have a 2003 Acura MDX with 120,000 miles on it. I live on a mountain road that goes from 5,200 feet to 7,400 feet in 7 miles. When I head up the mountain and go around switchbacks, at the higher altitudes the power steering goes out when it's very hot outside and I usually have the air conditioner on. I've had the power steering and sensors replaced twice and it hasn't worked.
