Touareg :: V10 - Rear Suspension Vibrate When Driving At About 140km/h
I've got a problem with my touareg v10 5.0tdi because when I drive about 140km/h or more the rear suspension gets a vibrations. Sometimes I fell them more and sometimes less. And today when I was driving in the rain I notice they vibrations stopped. What could cause this vibrations of the rear suspension. i have checked wheels and tires and they are good. My touareg has the mileage 127000 km and could be possible that shaft is worn out.
View 9 RepliesTouareg :: Sport Mode (Air Suspension) And Driving On Speed Bumps
I would prefer to drive my treg in sport mode on the air suspension because I find that I get slightly better cornering, etc. However, there are about 8 speed bumps in my normal "to gym and to work" morning drive and 5 on the way home. Some are the big wide new-style speed bumps. Some are the little narrow hard bumps. I usually leave the sus in comfort or auto because of this. Is it "bad" for the suspension to take speed bumps at a fairly good clip with the air suspension? Worse when it's tightened up for sport mode??
View 3 RepliesFord Brakes/Suspension :: ABS System Failed - Module Replacement?
I took my 2009 F150 XLT 4.6 into the dealership to have front and rear brakes replaced at 77,000 miles. Brakes were down to 3mm. They also did a complete brake flush. They called after the brake job was done and said the ABS system failed and needed to replace ABS module. Given I didn't have any problems with ABS before bringing it into the dealership, what is the chance the brake repair screwed up something with the ABS that they caused?

I have the dreaded "STOP FAULT RUNNING GEAR" message. Vag-Com shows Electical Fault in Circuit for both Left Front and Left Rear level sensors. Checked all fuses. Replaced both sensors....no change. Temperature started dropping below freezing, message goes away and suspension works. Temperature rises, message comes back and suspension stops working again.
View 6 RepliesTouareg :: 2004 - Front Left Air Suspension Sitting Lower Than Normal
By way of brief background, I have a 2004 Touareg with 180,000 miles. I recently noticed that the front left air suspension was sitting lower than normal after the truck had been sitting. I discovered that the shock was leaking air and in the subsequent days began getting "Running Gear Workshop" warnings on the MFI. I got both the orange ones and a red one that instructs you to stop immediately. It reset after parking, and restarting. In summary, I knew I had a problem.
Today, I stopped at the dealer and they confirmed that the fitting at the top of the air shock was in deed leaking. Attached is a photograph showing the fitting. It is important that you inspect these fittings ASAP if you have air suspension. There is a TSB that references corrosion and possible failure. See TSB 43 07 01
Initially I was told that the entire air shock would have to be replaced but after doing research and with the assistance of Spockcat, I discovered that the fitting can be replaced assuming the female portion of the connection is not corroded. Replacing the entire air shock assembly is expensive. Apparently, there have been some instances where the fitting has failed during driving and bad things happen.
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Rear Suspension Bouncing On The Frame When Driving
I was driving along and all of a sudden it felt like the rear suspension was just not there it actually felt like it was bouncing on the frame. then it went away. I recently in the last year had the rear shocks changed with OEM shocks.....
View 14 RepliesTouareg :: Green Light On Button Flashed But Keyfob Unlock Failed Temporarily
Went down to the garage at work to get my car and the keyfob unlock button did nothing on the treg. The green light on the button flashed, but no matter how close I was and no matter how many times I pressed the button, nothing happened.
When I opened the door with the key, the alarm went off but starting the car fixed that (I really don't know what buttons on the remote to press to stop the alarm--I've hit panic by accident in my pocket a few times and only after furiously pushing all sorts of buttons on my keyfob has the alarm deactivated... I'm never sure which one did it).
When I got home the first two times I tried to lock the treg nothing happened. Then it locked. Now it seems to work 100%. I had the range fix and my range is quite good.
Ford Brakes/Suspension :: 2004 F150 - Grinding / Scraping Sound While Driving
I have a 2004 F150 4x4 Fx4 supercrew with 5.4 engine and 46,000 miles. For the past three weeks now I have a periodic Grinding /scraping sound that seems to be coming from the front passenger's side of the truck. It can come on with light driving and braking in town or start while driving 70 mph down the interstate without even touching my brakes. The thing is I just about always have to come to a complete stop to make it go away. 10 Minutes later it comes again. It's loud enough for everyone around me to start staring at my truck. Sounds like metal scraping concrete and gets deeper as I slow down and when I fully press my brake pedal it goes "curchunk and the sound is gone for a while. I thought maybe my caliper was sticking or maybe the truck is trying to go into 4x4. One friend even suggested me to check the dust cover behind the brake for rocks.
View 12 RepliesTouareg :: 2004 - Transmission Disengaging While Driving?
Since new in Jan 04, the trans will disengage, the tach will shoot up and then BANG engages as though I put it in nuetral & then back in drive. Third time to the dealer last Friday and all they want to do is "flash". It did it again as I was leaving the dealer. I have had this happen at 55mph while passing & warmed up but bostly while cold at low speed. 1st or 2nd gear.
I haven't seen any other complaint like this but this is a safety issue.

While I was driving my car suddenly was losing power.I tried to hit the "gas" pedal harder and it didn't react.It stayed on the same gear and after 2-3 seconds it was ok. After 10 minutes it happened again but this time I couldn't do anything. I thought it was the transmission problem so I went into manual mode to shift it down. It didn't work at all - I was shifting down but didn't have power so I had to stop. I stopped put in P turn engine on and everything came back to normal.It's worth mentioning that one time time I had to pull over and I didn't turn the car off. After couple minutes the car started to vibrate and died. I turned on and everything was ok. Fuel filter or is it something else?

View 7 RepliesDriving - Eclipse - Mitsubishi - Steering - Suspension :: Creaking Noise Occasionally While Driving
In the last two weeks a noise has developed in my 2003 Mitsu. Eclipse. Whenever I turn, there is a very noticeable creaking noise that sounds like it originates from the front right side. The only other time I experienced a sound like this was when there was a rock stuck in a suspension coil (not this time though). What it could be? It also happens occasionally while driving, more so on rougher roads. This leads me to believe that it has something to do with... suspension? I may be completely wrong though.
View 5 RepliesTouareg :: Air Suspension Breaks Down While Going 65 Mph
Today my v-10's front air suspension broke? while driving at 65 on a freeway i heard a metal clunk like the sound of a manhole cover slightly ajar being run over, but no impact on the wheel, just this sound , i do not believe i hit anything it just happened out of the blue. after another 5 minutes or so i noticed my front end seemed different, and then i got a priority one red triangle message to STOP with a message about wheels or brake or something. i pulled over and saw that the front end was lower than I've ever seen it. i made it to a dealer a couple of miles later and the front end was as low as it could go with the rear up at the normal height. no leakage no visible damage its just screwed up. I've got 21,000 miles on it and i do drive a little aggressive.

I've got a 2005 with almost 300,000 miles and just recently the A/C blower has intermittently failed to start up. However, if I give the console a smack on the driver's side of the nav screen the unit usually starts up.
Now, I am assuming it is the start of an electric motor failure in the A/C Blower unit, however, the blower is apparently located under the passenger side glove box. So I am wondering if that is whee the blower is why does smaking the driver side of the nav screen start up the motor?
Prius (2004-09) :: Brake Actuator And Solenoid Failed

View 19 RepliesPontiac - Grandam :: 2004 - All Dashboard Functions Failed
I have a 2004 Grand Am and a month or so ago, I started it up and all the dashboard functions failed. RPM, speedometer, odometer, fuel, temp all stopped working. The dials read zero and the odo did readout but did not advance. Some of the idiot lights also came on. The radio is also dead and is either totally blank or reads "LOC", but the air blows fine. Also the key fob will not lock/unlock and neither will the door controls lock the doors but the windows work. It was fine the next day. Now it has returned and has lasted 2 days so far.
Full disclosure: I did replace the PCM in December because something in the Passlock system was failing and not letting me start the car. The replacement PCM is an exact replacement that has had the Passlock code commented out. There have been zero problems with the PCM since then.
