Volvo - 940 :: Coolant Leak Near Firewall

Back again, with the 1994-ish Volvo 940 with many miles on it.

Symptoms reported by son: coolant leak near firewall (radiator hoses replaced a few weeks ago); maybe some pressure in cooling system; some oily stuff in the coolant in the radiator.

Shop's diagnosis: transmission cooler leaking. (Well at least it's not the head gasket!)

Recommend : Replace radiator, cap (sure), thermostat (all right, but we get rid of this car in six weeks), and ... flush the transmission (alarm!).

Usual advice is drain and refill tranny, rather than flush. However, seems to me that with high risk of coolant in trans fluid, flush is the right action.

Prius C :: Adding LED Driving Lights - Getting Wires Through Firewall

I'm thinking of adding LED driving lights, any way to get the power wires from inside the car through the firewall to the engine compartment? I really don't want to punch holes in the wiring harness rubber seal. Been trying to think of a way to do this elegantly.

Golf/GTI VI :: Get Tyre Pressure Sensor Wire Through Firewall?

Trying, to retrofit the TPMS 'clearing' button for the system that uses ABS. Easy enough to fit the button, but need to run a wire to the ABS module. Took out the glovebox/cubby hole hoping it would reveal where the main wireharness goes through the firewall, but there is a big plastic unit behind the glovebox. It would have made life easier as the ABS is right in front of the glovebox but guess I'll need to take another route.

Ford Excursion :: A/C Line Leak Coming From Near The Firewall

Trying to get the a/c working on the EX. Tried to pull a vacuum and heard a leak coming from near the firewall. After a closer look I could see the larger line was rubbing against the rear head stud. That line is a hard to remove and replace. So if you have a studded 6.0, take time to look at your lines to make sure they have proper clearance.

Saturn - Sl :: 2000 - Squealing From Driver Side Firewall Area?

I have a 2000 Saturn SL1 standard. It's been great with very little need for repairs beyond routine maintenance. In the last two weeks it has started an odd squealing that I can't pin point.

While driving along all of a sudden a squealing sound will emanate from what seems like the driver's side firewall area. Acceleration or braking does not seem to change it, nor does adjusting the speed of the hot air blower up or down.

It doesn't sound like a wheel scraping or anything like that. The best way I can describe it is it sounds like what happens if a speed-o-meter cable needs lubricated (but of course there is none of this vehicle).

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Power Steering Leak - Wetness Is Closer To The Firewall

My 2001 Santa Fe had a slow PS leak for over a year which I dealt with just by adding fluid several times a year. Then I let the car sit for a few months while I saved up for input/output sensors. I just replaced those and discovered that the PS leak is noticeably worse.

I searched the forums and found that the most common problem is a clogged reservoir screen, resulting in fluid backup that sprays the engine bay. I don't think that's the problem. The engine bay is dry and both reservoir hoses are dry. The spot where I've found the most wetness is closer to the firewall and much lower than the reservoir but I need identifying it.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Noise Behind Firewall Occurs Every 20 - 40 Seconds

just got a new to me 05 f250 with the 6.0. Truck has 152k its super clean. I think there is an odd noise. That occurs every 20-40 seconds. This is my first diesel. There is no check engine light. No loss of power. No stutter.

But, there is a bump sound behind the firewall on the drivers side. And a felt bump on the throttle pedal. At first I thought it was a sub woofer behind the firewall, not really, just the feeling of the sound and vibration. Since there is no check light on I'm concerned as to what this could be if it's not a normal diesel sound/vibration.

There is no correlation with throttle position(occurs at idle and pedal depressed) RPM (I feathered the throttle attempting to elicit the sound no result). bumps in the road (bump stop, steering nothing wrong there). Does seem in the afternoon it's more prevalent. I drive about 20mi to work and around 5mi through out the day. The sound occurs approximately every 20-40 seconds.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Mounts Of Air And Non-air Models

Just wanted to clear it up for ones with stock air suspension who has (or hasn't) swapped out for aftermarket air. The mounts and everything else are the same for both Air and Non-air models, correct? So a coilover made for a 460 would fit a 460L with no issues? To my knowledge, the 460L basically just has bags and a sensor but share the same top and bottom mounts.

My motor mounts have been slowly going bad for a few months now and they are now to the point where when I am slowing down as it is shifting down into third, it feels like I am being rear ended. My question is, is this doing damage to my engine and tranny or is it more of an annoyance.
