Gen 2 Prius :: Glare On Windshield When Driving At Night?
Lately, when driving at night I have noticed a glare from my dash on my windshield right in my line of sight. Is there anyway to alter that glare? Maybe putting some sort of visor extender over it to reduce the glare? I drive a 08 Prius Touring

There's an annoying reflection in the windshield of the dashboard lights at night. What have any of you done to get rid of it?
View 15 RepliesPrius C :: Reflection Of Dashboard On Windshield During Daytime Makes View Cloudy
This last week, I bought a Prius C 4, love everything about it but... the front windshield reflection. The reflection of the dashboard during daytime makes the view somewhat cloudy, at night the reflection at night appears to be like a shroud over most of the windshield. So much so that the peripheral vision is almost nil. I think this can be dangerous as demonstrated by almost hitting 2 deer on my first drive home! I've ordered a dashmat cover and await its delivery. Hopefully this will alleviate the problem, if not my dealer will be getting the car back until this problem is resolved. Dimming the dashboard light has no effect.

I just got the vehicle on the July 17th, and have some questions about the audio system. When it's sunny outside, there's so much glare on LCD of the nav system that it makes it almost impossible to use it because it washes out the colors so much.
It says it in the user guide that you get 6 presets per source (usb/aux excluded). However, it only allows six global presets. I know that because whenever I change the source the presets from the previous source stay on the screen. And no, the visors do not fix the glare problem.
Prius (2010-12) :: Glare Along Rear Defogger Lines After Tint
I tinted my Prius v's rear hatch window with SunTek CXP film yesterday morning. When driving at night with the tinted window, there are streaks of glare along rear defogger lines caused by the headlights behind me.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2015 F450 - A/C Sometimes Won't Work When First Drive It In The Morning
I have a 2015 Ford F-450 6.7L Diesel with a 12 foot flatbed on it that I use for my power washing business. The air conditioner sometimes won't work when I first drive it in the morning. After I make a few stops and turn the engine on/off a few times it will all of the sudden start working again.
This happens about 2 or 3 times a month and I don't have time to have it sit at Ford so they can duplicate the problem. It's going in for it's 60,000 mile service in the morning anyways so I'll still have the dealer look at it. What might be causing this?

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Green Liquid On The Dashboard And Windshield
I own a 2010 Toyota Corolla. Approximately 1 month ago I noticed green colored drops on the dashboard and on the windshield (inside). The car is still in warranty. I took it to the dealer, but they could not find where this liquid is coming from.

I brought my 2011 GS350 in today for the dealer to fix the rattling noise coming from the dashboard after 2.5 hrs of waiting the car was fixed and I drove it to work and the rattling was minimal but tonight after work it was really cold I drove the car home and the rattling noise seem like it coming from the dashboard area near the windshield and the noise was more noticeable than this morning right after i left the dealer.
I just bought the car on March 3, 2015 so far loving the ride but the rattling noise makes me worry. The car is still under factory warranty until March 29th 2015 I am hoping they can correct the problem before the warranty expires. What should I do next?
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Squeak That Sounded Like A Bird Chirping Coming From Dashboard Windshield Area
For close to 6 months I drove around with a squeak that sounded like a bird chirping coming from my dashboard windshield area. I tried listening everywhere while driving and could never pinpoint the squeak that was driving me crazy. For whatever reason, I adjusted the rubber bumper stops for the hood and the chirp went away. I had to post this just in case there were others with the annoying squeak.
View 2 RepliesGolf V R32 :: Hoses At The Windshield Are Chewed Up, Can't Drive The Car
Was just looking under the hood of the 08 R32 I just bought and noticed that a couple of smaller diameter (thumb size) hoses at the windshield had chew marks on it. Took it to my local shop. The mechanic called me a little later and said that there are actually 3 hoses chewed up, a third is down below, and that there is a nationwide back order on all three of these hoses with no estimate of when new hoses will arrive and it is unlikely that any dealer has these in stock. My mechanic said that he's been around long enough to know that when he sees a situation like this, there will likely be a recall on these hoses.
My mechanic said my hoses are pretty chewed up and the car is unsafe to drive, certainly not for long drives in hot weather. I am taking the car to a race shop nearby to install my Milltek exhaust and they have some ability to custom make hoses. I hope they can do it.
Golf/GTI VII :: Dashboard Shows Gears In Drive Mode
Maybe I haven't read through user manual carefully enough, but I haven't yet figured out a way to show gears in (Drive mode. Moving into Sports), or manual mode or flip paddle shifter does the job, (Replacing "D" in dashboard is totally fine).

I did some searching on here, but couldn't find much. I know, obviously, that adding an HID kit to a halogen housing will result in glare. So, I guess I am asking... how bad is it on a 2013 Camry? I know that the glare in some housings can be EXTREMELY bad, while some are tolerable.
View 6 RepliesSubaru :: 2013 - Windshield Distortion - Cannot Drive The Car In Sunlight
I recently purchased a new 2013 subaru crosstrek, and noticed an optical variance in the windshield that is giving me migraines ( it feels like my eye is being pulled out through my right ear). I took it back to the dealer and (after several visits trying to convince them it existed) they replaced the windshield. With one that's worse, and now I'm stuck. I can't drive the car in sunlight, only in the dark or on days its precipitating. My husband says he sees it, too. But the Dealer wants nothing to do with me. We tried to find an aftermarket windshield, but apparently, the car is too new.

View 7 RepliesCorolla/Matrix 2009-13 :: 2010 - Dashboard Vibration When Drive On Rough Tar Road
When I drive my 2010 Toyota Corolla on a rough tar road, i feel dashboard vibration on the drivers side. The vibration is sensed in the instrument panel and also around the window. This happens if the tar road is rough or uneven. Is there anyway to remove the top of the dashboard and insulate it?
I live in sunny South Florida, so the heat makes the plastics in these corollas rattle or vibrate more, going over rough tar roads.
Prius (Gen 3) :: Fan Noise During Morning Startup
I am experiencing a fan noise that precedes the ICE during morning startup. It sounds like a model airplane with a cheap, buzzy propeller. It is not the cabin blower and it comes from the front of the car. It goes for about 10sec and then the ICE fires up, drowning out the fan noise, which I presume fades out. And then I don't hear it again when the ICE shuts off. I also don't hear it at a stop light or subsequent restarts. Seemingly, it only does it after it has sat overnight.
It wasn't always like this. Nothing has changed in my routine. Build date Sep 09. 10000km.
Prius (2004-09) :: Won't Start This Morning?
Earlier this morning when it was about 14 degrees F out, I got in my car to go to work. I noticed there was snow on the windows. In my early morning stupor, I thought it was light enough for the windshield wipers to remove. So as soon as I started my car with my foot pressing on the brakes, I immediately turned on the wipers--it was virtually done at the same time. I saw the wipers start to go up but struggled to lift the heavier-than-expected snow. Then I felt the brake pedal pushing back a bit and that's when the car dying down on me. A bunch of dashboard lights came on while other dashboard lights faded out.. Eventually, everything faded out.
The only light I remember that was on was on the Push Start button.
At some point, within a few minutes as I was trying to figure things out in this panic, I put the FOB key into the slot (it's usually kept in my pocket) and then I started my car as normal. I started up but I noticed everything dashboard light was on while it said my gas was near-empty (It was last seen last full).
I turned my car back off again. Then I turned it back on and, after a few strange dashboard lights switching on and off, my car started to resume normally. The gas tank was reading as expected.
After a few minutes of making sure everything was working just fine, I drove my usual 30 miles to work and here I am now trying to figure out why..
Prius (Gen 3) :: Traction Battery Paranoia In Morning Due To AC?
Over the last few weeks I have noted the following when I first start the car in the morning : I turn on the car, and turn on the A/C (this is Arkansas, remember, and the sun has already heated the car up pretty good). The Traction Battery is usually at 6 bar+/-
Over the next few minutes (driving uphill, maybe stopping for a minute to put trash in our trash cans, A/C on all the time), the Traction Battery goes down to 2 or 3 bars quickly. Then over the next few minutes it pretty quickly comes back up as I start driving faster (40-45) on a main road.
I am guessing this is happening now because of my A/C use. But I don't remember this happening so much in previous summers, which were at least as hot.
BTW, I start driving as quickly as possible after turning the car on (little or no warm up). So maybe some of this has to do with the car using battery energy while the engine is warming itself. But again, I never noticed this before.
Is it possible that a cell or something in the battery is going bad? Or is it just completely normal and I just never noticed it before and I'm having Traction Battery Paranoia?
