Prius (Gen 2) :: Optima Battery Installation Process
I have the part number for the battery. It is a series D51 Optima # N9951 YEL ( Napa auto parts )$149.00. You need a new positive post bracket with stud attached (standard post size, since the old one is smaller than normal) and a universal ground bracket with the clamp for a wire install. Cut off the ground clamp ( old one) and install the wire to new one. Look at the positive post ( old one ) and get a new one with the same configuration with the post bolt. Unbolt the positive unit from the old bracket and install new one. The Optima is the same size as the old one so everything goes back under the cover. It is a non vented battery so you do not need the hose hooked up to it.
If you are not good with electrical connections get the terminal kit . Then it is just a matter of unbolting the battery and replacing the cables , connectors and your done.
Chevrolet - Equinox :: Car Radio Won't Work After New Battery Installation
I purchased a new battery for my 2008 Chevy Equinox and have it installed. After they installed it, my car radio would not turn on at all. The clock on the radio interface had been reset to 12:00 when they disconnected the battery, but I could not reset the clock to the appropriate time after installation. After doing some research, I came up with two scenarios to look into:
-the fuse was damaged;
-or, the removal of the battery triggered a security lock down on the car radio that requires a code to be inputted to make it operable again.
I checked the fuse, and it worked fine. I looked up the security lockdown item in the manual, and it explicitly noted that if this were to be the case, the interface would clearly indicate the word "LOCKED." The interface does not indicate this. The only thing the interface indicates is the time, which is incorrect.
Are there any hypotheses as to why my car radio is now inoperable? And are there any suggested solutions for resolving this?

I will be "building" and correcting the attached document as I install a WebElectric DRL-2P kit into a 2012 Prius v Five with the Advanced Technology Package. I will add photos and describe the colors of the Prius v wiring harness wires to which I connect the DRL-2P kit as I determine them with a test light.
I am NOT a professional but I have done many automotive projects in my almost 50 years of driving ... engine rebuilds, audio and phone systems, Euro headlights with and without washers, front and rear fog lights, horn mods and on and on.
This looks like an easy project - maybe a "3" on my "1 to 10 difficulty scale" - with the most difficult part being crawling under the car to remove panels and to make the connections with the turn signals ... not fun as I get older. This project should be substantially easier than the install of Scion IQ signal mirror covers on this same car which I documented on this forum and which was perhaps a "6" on my difficulty scale.

I am working on my folks 2003 gen 1 prius. Dealer told them inverter was bad so I bought a used one to replace it from junk yard. I was able to drive the car on purely gas mode prior to replacing inverter. I have now replaced the inverter and innitially was able to drive it on battery power, but no gas engine, it wont start. Now no movement at all. I have reset codes both with my obd2 scanner and by the touch screen diagnostic window. Am I missing something here as I can't get the warning orange triangle to go away or check engine light, and now gas engine. When I turn key, I hear clicking sound in rear of car. Also, I left doors open when working on car and drained little battery, I replaced it with a larger battery that I have put in a battery box.

I am wanting to add the auto dim and home link to our car, but I am wanting it to look factory. I am just wondering what the difference in looks are?. Anyways, i bought an "add-a-circuit" to make it easier - basically it allows the kit to plug into an existing fuse (see )
I'd like to choose a 'switched' 12V source in the fuse box to connect this to. ideally I'd like to have the interior lights turn on when I switch on my headlights! I don't want the source/fuse i pick to be "always on".
I was looking at the fuse box description in the manual for the driver's side instrument panel - the number 1 - tail - 10A - parking lights, side marker lights, etc. - is that the one i should use? i don't know how A relates to 12V sources... shrugs
i don't know anything about wiring.
Prius (2010-12) :: Spacers Installation On Rear Suspension?
I will be receiving my 2010 Prius in a day or two. The road condition in Pakistan are not that favorable for the imported cars as they get hit from underneath alot. So I'll need to put 1" spacers on top of the rear suspension. that will require disassembling the shock absorbers. I just need to know how to disassemble the interior to gain access to the suspension nuts inside the car?

Like most of PIPPOS (plug in Prius pre orderers) I have been planning this install for a while. I am glad it was so simple and came in under budget.
Charging transformer attached to wall with velcro command strips so can be removed if needed. Next to that (closest to car plug) is a plastic garden hose hanger I picked up at lowest.
I am perfectly pleased with how quick and easy this install was and how perfectly it works for the car.

I would like to install a Piezo beeper on my 2002 Prius to let me know when the car is locked or unlocked. I got it from another Toyota car, but want to put it in my Prius. I have tried in vain to find out which wire in the Body ECU or Theft Deterrent system will beep only when I unlock the doors, similar to G2 and G3 Prius.
In essence I would like to mimic the behaviour of newer Toyota's, I know it can do it because the car flashes its lights to let me know.
