Prius (Gen 3) :: Random Single / Long Beep When Locking Via Handle
Recently, my Prius has been randomly giving me the single, long warning beep when I try to lock it by touching the handle. The car is definitely not still on, and the key is in my pocket when it happens. I've checked the doors, and none are ajar. It's not 100% consistent, but happens about 50-75% of the time. When it happens, I can lock the car with the key or keyfob - but touching the handle just gets me the long beep and no lock.

When I'm driving the ABS/Brake lights come on at random and beep at me in my 1998 passat... I'm not sure why, and there should be no reason.. my brakes work fine and haven't been a problem... I never slam on my brakes either...the only thing wrong is that I have a brake light out but that shouldn't be it.... Is there something obvious that I'm missing??

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2010 - With Remote Start Horn Beep Only Once?
I just bought a 2010 f150 and it came with the single button remote start. I've been reading lots of posts about remote start but none with my issue. Mine when you push the button the horn beeps, ignition comes on, the seat slides forward, then the horn beeps just one time again, and it just sits there with the radio playing and not running. Everyone else is getting a 3 beep error code and I'm getting just the one beep.

I unlock the door, open door, and hear a chime/beep - I think its a 'single' chime/beep. Wondering what is causing this .......... I might have had a power cord plugged into the 12V accessory plug, but nothing was attached to the cord.

I just found out that the beeps that i hear when in reverse is only for people in the car to hear. outside of the car, with the doors closed, i cannot hear anything. is that by design or is there something wrong?
i would think the beep (for those who changed it from the default) or continuous beeps would be useful to warn whoever may happen to be behind the car since the prius is dead silent at times.

I'm pretty sure this is new behavior the past week or so. Whenever I open the door, whether finishing a drive or entering the car from outside, the car beeps once as if it is trying to get my attention for something. This happens when the car is off (I always press the power button before opening the door)
I do not see any warning lights or anything obviously wrong; what is the significance of this beep?

On my 2010 prius, I recently had my windows tinted. Seems I have lost the single beep when locking the doors. I still get two beeps when unlocking. I also get the double lock when I put the car in gear. But I am having no issues with any of the door locks sticking. smart key isn't working as it was. When I walk up the the drivers door, the inside light would illuminate, that does not happen now.

I have been having this issue randomly, sometimes it won't occur for days and other times it happens in a short period. I will place my key in the ignition, and everything will chime correctly, and when I turn over my engine, it sounds like the engine catches then it just stalls. The things I have changed so far is,
battery ( needed to be changed anyways)
spark plugs ( was set to be changed)
air filter
cabin air filter ( no relevant but still...)
oil
At first I thought it could be bad gas, since I fill up sometimes at safeways etc, but in my tank right now is 91 octane shell, I thought it could be spark plugs since I was a little over due so I changed them, and the issue never popped up for 2 more weeks, then it came back.
if I use my car starter it seems to start better, but it is maybe 1 out of 10 times it will just crank continuously without catching or anything.
I can hear my fuel pump whirl when the key is turned but not started, I checked the oil today and it is full and a light color, maybe 500 km on this oil change.

Prius (2010-12) :: No Beep Alert When Leave The Headlight On
I sometimes manually cut the headlights on during the day and I noticed that there is no bell or dinger that alerts me that they're on when the car is cut off. I assume the lights will cut themselves off after a period of time? Just concerned I might kill the battery if I don't notice I left them on.

unlike a lot of my fellow prii folks, i love the beeps. My favorite one is the confirmation of locking the doors by touch of handle and also unlocking by touch. Believe it or not i even like the backup beep which is kind of like a nice confirmation of "yo, dude! we are going backwards" but the most important one for me is the long single loud beep. happened the other day when i got out of my car to get a coke and the car emitted a continuous loud shrill beep as i started to walk away. 2010 Santa Fe V6...about a week ago the starter started acting up. When you try to start the car, you would hear 3 clicks before the engine would start normally. The clicking is random and does not happen every time. The dealer could not find anything wrong other than the battery was reading 440CCA vs the 600CCA it was rated. Starter clicked first thing today on the way to local mechanic to get brakes replaced. They tested battery and it tested good. What could be the problem?

We have a few dozen '10 Prius' at work. When I make stops and get out of the car, I like to lock my doors while the car is running so nobody can steal anything inside the car. I tried closing the door and touching the handle on both sides but I just get a long beep tone which lasts about 10 seconds. And sure enough, the door doesn't lock. I hate leaving the car unlocked and I'm used to our old cars where you were able to take the key out of the ignition and lock the doors while the car was still running.
