Golf IV R32 :: Humming Noise At A Range From 30 - 60 Mph

So I recently bought a 2004 R32 after owning like 5 other vw's (always wishing they were R's). Anyway, I am experiencing some humming noise... not quite a vibration, but the "humming" is strong enough that you can sort of feel it through the car. The "humming" happens at a range from about 30-60 mph and is only present when I'm turning left, or when there is more force on the passenger side of the car. When I'm going straight, it is very slight, but if I turn even slightly to my left it gets louder/stronger. When turning right and force is off the passenger side and on the driver side, the symptom is not present. It seems like it's coming from my front end as well, not rear.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming Noise While In 4wd

I went to throw my truck in 4wd the other day and now I'm experiencing a humming noise, but only when in 4 wheel. It's only noticeable when I'm in 4 wheel and I'm off the accelerator or coming to a stop, soon as I accelerate, come to a stop, or take it out of 4wd the noise disappears.

Only other symptom was I tried putting it in 4-low the other day and all it did for a good minute was rev up a bunch, but I switched it back to 2wd and 4-hi and low worked after that. 4wd does still work just fine, it's just buzzing and it's annoying the heck out of me

I did a search, not just on this forum either, all I keep getting is the old "buzzing 'til I put it in 4wd" topic. Hoping to get an answer before I start dropping money trying to find it on my own. I'm not used to these new-style 4wd systems so I'm lost for knowledge here.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Odd Humming Noise Starts From 25 - 30 Mph?

Ok, been trying to track down an odd humming noise on my 08 f150 CC 4x4, 4.6l. kind of sounds like a hub bearing going. starts around 25-30mph and never quites down.

Turning left or right to load each side of the suspension doesn't change tone or intensity of the noise, different pavements doesn't change Tone or intensity. Hubs are tight, CVs are tight, 4x4 works as it should. Cant figure this sound out and it's quite loud.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 FX4 - Whining / Humming Noise While Accelerating

I just bought a truck, it has a whining noise while accelerating, stops while letting on the gas, does not do it in neutral even if i rev up the engine. Only whines while there is some force on it, ie.. accelerating, or going up a hill at any angle, and does it from about 10-15mph- atleast 60mph.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming / Rubbing Noise Under The Hood When Come Across 1000 RPMs

I put a link below on the video that I made. But when I come across 1,000 RPMs weather I turn, go straight, left or right it makes this noise like a humming or rubbing noise. I took it to the dealership and they fed me crap saying when it gets worse or when it happens every time brig it back.

I don't think this link is working I'm trying to figure out this iPhone. Search my YouTube channel Kill3rcr3w that's the channel I just uploaded it

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming Noise From Rear Side Occurs At All Speeds

A very odd hum from the rear (2005 f150 4.2) that occurs at all speeds. Low speed it occurs regardless of load on the drive line. At higher speeds it only happens when i have considerable load on the drive line. All bearings in the diff were replaced less than a year ago when the main pinion bearing went and the diff gears were in pretty dam good condition. Wheel bearings are not getting warm to indicate a wheel bearing. And when i let off the throttle it hums for a few seconds and dissipates as the tension on the drive line goes away. I even looked at the carrier bearing assy and it seems to be in good working order. I live pretty dam far from any type of service so i was just curious before i start trying to trouble shoot this any further.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming Noise During Coast - Vibrations In Steering Wheel

My 05 F150 with 107k miles becomes increasingly noisy.... From speeds about 15mph up to 50mph there is a humming noise from the front wheels, clearly audible during coast. It sounds almost like tire noise, low frequency with a clear tone (not rumble) and gets worse in LH turns / better in RH turns. The frequency follows the speed.

I also can feel vibrations in the steering wheel. It's not the tires, I changed them without any impact. Checked wheel bearing play - seems OK. The locking hubs are stuck in locked position, with quite some play between the hub and the driveshaft at the RH front wheel (have not checked the LH front wheel yet), seems weird...

Where should I start to look, - wheel bearings or locking hubs? And more important, we plan a 1500 mls trip to Germany - do I dare to drive the truck? What is the worst thing that could happen if wheel bearing or locking hub?

Prius (2004-09) :: Humming Noise Starting At About 45 Mph - Brake Pedal Clink / Pop Noise

Two things I have just noticed on my '09 with aprox. 120,000 miles.

Starting at about 45 mph, I am getting a humming noise
Doesn't get louder as speed goes up either, stays the same 45-75 mph
Have Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 tires, did rotation, noise did not change location
Noise does go away gradually when slowing down to a stop (after I have reached 45)
I am deaf on my left side, this is hard to tell where it is coming from

Second is this really odd brake pedal clink / pop noise. When brake pedal is depressed fully to the floor, car ON or OFF, there is a clunk

See attached links to the noise.....

Brake pads / rotors are like new, plenty of life on them. I did have the inverter pump replaced per the recall (I read somewhere this could be related?)

Prius (2004-09) :: Humming Noise Under The Hood

I loved my 2009 Prius until this weekend. I just turned over 31,000 miles and now a loud humming noise has developed under the hood while driving. It has not been cold here and this doesn't start until I reach around 24 mph. It remains while the gas engine is running or I'm coasting with the engine off. The humming is there in D or in N and there no sound while turning. When I am under 24 mph the noise is gone. I have set up an appointment with my Toyota dealer for this week, but wanted to know ahead of time if any other Prius owners have had this issue.

Prius (2004-09) :: Humming Noise From The Front Occasionally?

I can hear a strange noise from the front occasionally, independent to my operation. It sound like rolling a cassette tape in a old driver. The sound repeats every several minutes, and lasts about 5 seconds each time.

When I standing outside the car, it hears louder from under the bonnet.

Prius (2004-09) :: Transmission Noise / Humming That Follows The Speed Of Car

I've noticed about the last 4 weeks my 2008 touring Prius (85k miles) seems be running louder than it always used to. There is a sort of humming noise that follows the speed of the car, whether the engine is running or not, in neutral or drive. No warning indicators on the dash. No change in mileage observed. Seems slower to accelerate too, though I'm not entirely sure. I'll probably bring it in to get checked.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Range Of Transmission Fluid Temps

What is the range is on these temps. Reason I ask is because long story short My truck did not come with a factory tow package and I have added the hitch and seven pin wiring, I am lacking the HD trans cooler. Recently purchased a travel trailer and am a little worried about getting the tranny too hot. I have an Edge tuner and set the gauge to read tranny fluid temp. Without the trailer I have been seeing temps that range in the 130's to 150's, with the trailer I have been seeing temps in the high 160's, with a spike to 176 when going up a hill. I plan to add the tranny cooler but cash is little tight at the moment. Just wondering how hot is too hot.

Prius (Gen 2) :: Sounds Like Jet Airplane At Highway Speeds?

Bought a 2005 Prius with a perfect history and that recently had its 60k check up at the Toyota dealer. Don't know exactly when the sound changed since I'm not the primary driver, but now it sounds like a jet airplane when it reaches highway speeds and it's hard to hear what we're saying to each other, much less what people are saying over the Bluetooth (although the built in Bluetooth noise cancellation feature is fantastic and the person on the other end of the phone doesn't hear the noisy engine). What could be causing the car to sound like we're taking off at the airport (at any speeds above 40 mph, it seems)? Our passengers comment on the near constant background noise level.

Ford - Explorer - Noises :: Airplane Propeller Noise That Comes And Goes With Acceleration

Over New Years I had to engage the full-time 4x4 button on my 2003 Explorer 4WD. Shortly thereafter I started noticing an airplane propeller noise that comes and goes with acceleration. It's pretty loud. It has not affected mileage or dashboard engine indicators. Tires still have 40% left, not them. Have I ruined an axle or something? There is a rear end whine that Ford says is endemic to this model and year, but I think they are not related.

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Sounds Like Airplane Taking Off And Landing

I have a noise problem in the front area. It sounds like a airplane taking off and landing. The sounds happen when the SUV is moving, even at rolling speed. It started with a very low noise which at first I thought might be a tire issue but about a month later it was very obvious that it isn't. (This is my wife's SUV, she just drive).

The SUV idles and drives fine still with front oem shocks. I have not inspect the breaks or rotors yet but they are breaking just fine with no squeak. It did get a aftermarket axle shaft on the right side. The noise is about even on both side.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Transmission Bang When It Shifts And RPMs Drop To Lock Up Range

Truck is 04 supercrew with 5.4 and 140,000 miles. I have the typical shutter when cruising 55 - 60 and just ease on the throttle to pass someone. I chalked that up to the torque converter unlocking, if I punch it instead of easing into it, it will not shutter. As of yesterday, it acts like the converter is going to full lock up almost immediately. It will bang when it shifts and rpm's drop to lock up range. A few times it has killed the engine when I shift into D. No codes at all, I removed the programmer and installed the stock tune, no change, unhooked battery, no change, fluid is good, and twice after leaving stop signs it worked perfect until the next stop. I believe that it is an electrical control problem.

IS F (2008-2014) :: Mild Low Cyclical Humming Noise At 70 Mph

I have noticed a very mild cyclical humming noise at exactly 70 mph. Initially I thought it was the original Bridgestones but it continued after I had a new set of Michelin PSS mounted. The noise can only be heard if the car is on a smooth road and the radio and AC are off. I was wondering if it may be a wheel bearing or issue with the differential. Not sure. Its not a big deal but would like to get to the bottom of it if possible.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming When Accelerated?

2004 FX4 has a humming sound sort of like mud tires on highway when I accelerate a little or a lot. When I let off the accelerator, it stops. It happens wether the truck is cold or been driving all day. Seems to be when cruising and holding the accelerator at a steady speed. When i let off, it stops. When I press on it, it Humms. It seems to be coming from behind me or directly below me. I was thinking fuel pump?

Golf V R32 :: 2008 - Humming Noise Stays Until Radio Completely Powers Off

Ok so this has been driving me nuts now for a couple days. When I listen to the reg radio, not noticeable. When i use xm, I switch channels and there is a very noticeable humming noise. Now the louder i turn the volume up the louder the humming gets. It makes the stations sound horrible. Not the same in FM! If i turn the car off the humming noise stays until the radio completely powers off. Everything is stock, stock NAV unit, stock speakers, no add on's. What am i missing before i go chasing gremlins. Some say its the amp, some says its the nav unit. How can i narrow down what it is?
