Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Odd Humming Noise Starts From 25 - 30 Mph?
Ok, been trying to track down an odd humming noise on my 08 f150 CC 4x4, 4.6l. kind of sounds like a hub bearing going. starts around 25-30mph and never quites down.
Turning left or right to load each side of the suspension doesn't change tone or intensity of the noise, different pavements doesn't change Tone or intensity. Hubs are tight, CVs are tight, 4x4 works as it should. Cant figure this sound out and it's quite loud.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 FX4 - Whining / Humming Noise While Accelerating
I just bought a truck, it has a whining noise while accelerating, stops while letting on the gas, does not do it in neutral even if i rev up the engine. Only whines while there is some force on it, ie.. accelerating, or going up a hill at any angle, and does it from about 10-15mph- atleast 60mph.

I put a link below on the video that I made. But when I come across 1,000 RPMs weather I turn, go straight, left or right it makes this noise like a humming or rubbing noise. I took it to the dealership and they fed me crap saying when it gets worse or when it happens every time brig it back.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming Noise From Rear Side Occurs At All Speeds
A very odd hum from the rear (2005 f150 4.2) that occurs at all speeds. Low speed it occurs regardless of load on the drive line. At higher speeds it only happens when i have considerable load on the drive line. All bearings in the diff were replaced less than a year ago when the main pinion bearing went and the diff gears were in pretty dam good condition. Wheel bearings are not getting warm to indicate a wheel bearing. And when i let off the throttle it hums for a few seconds and dissipates as the tension on the drive line goes away. I even looked at the carrier bearing assy and it seems to be in good working order. I live pretty dam far from any type of service so i was just curious before i start trying to trouble shoot this any further.
View 1 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming Noise During Coast - Vibrations In Steering Wheel
My 05 F150 with 107k miles becomes increasingly noisy.... From speeds about 15mph up to 50mph there is a humming noise from the front wheels, clearly audible during coast. It sounds almost like tire noise, low frequency with a clear tone (not rumble) and gets worse in LH turns / better in RH turns. The frequency follows the speed.
I also can feel vibrations in the steering wheel. It's not the tires, I changed them without any impact. Checked wheel bearing play - seems OK. The locking hubs are stuck in locked position, with quite some play between the hub and the driveshaft at the RH front wheel (have not checked the LH front wheel yet), seems weird...
Where should I start to look, - wheel bearings or locking hubs? And more important, we plan a 1500 mls trip to Germany - do I dare to drive the truck? What is the worst thing that could happen if wheel bearing or locking hub?
Prius (2004-09) :: 2008 - Airplane / Humming Noise In 50 - 60 Mph Range?
I have a 2008 Prius, and I have a couple noises, one of which is related to the airplane noise. I've noticed recently mine starts to make that humming noise in the 50-60mph range (less so at higher or lower speeds). There is 44,000 miles on the car.
View 3 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming When Accelerated?
2004 FX4 has a humming sound sort of like mud tires on highway when I accelerate a little or a lot. When I let off the accelerator, it stops. It happens wether the truck is cold or been driving all day. Seems to be when cruising and holding the accelerator at a steady speed. When i let off, it stops. When I press on it, it Humms. It seems to be coming from behind me or directly below me. I was thinking fuel pump?
View 14 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming / Rubbing Sound When Turning Right
I have a 2004 F-150 STX 2WD with a 2.5" leveling kit on it. I recently have noticed a rubbing sound that can be felt in the steering wheel and gas pedal the instant you turn right. I just replaced both hub assemblies and I just really don't know what it could be. It doesn't happen when you turn left or go straight and there should be no reason as to why my tires rub, because they haven't before. I got my truck aligned and they checked my joints and everything and said that it was fine....

Every time I apply brakes I hear a weird humming noise, as well as no stopping power. Checked fluids and pads and everything is where it should be. I heard abs can cause this but not sure on that. I know my master cylinder has a very small leak but it hasn't lost any fluids of that sort. I'm lost. I don't know where else to look.
View 2 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Humming With Rhythmic Vibration Coming From Driver Side Front Wheel
2008 2wd 4.6L 98K miles F150 for the past few weeks has been humming with a rhythmic vibration which feels like it is coming from driver's side front wheel. It doesn't do it constantly, nor at all speeds. Once I hit about 25mph, you can start to hear a humming. At 35, slight vibration. Between 50-60, heavier vibration. Sometimes at 65+, it subsides quite a bit. Both front rotor assemblies are newer, and I put in a brand new left because I thought it was a bad bearing.
View 5 RepliesIS F (2008-2014) :: Mild Low Cyclical Humming Noise At 70 Mph
I have noticed a very mild cyclical humming noise at exactly 70 mph. Initially I thought it was the original Bridgestones but it continued after I had a new set of Michelin PSS mounted. The noise can only be heard if the car is on a smooth road and the radio and AC are off. I was wondering if it may be a wheel bearing or issue with the differential. Not sure. Its not a big deal but would like to get to the bottom of it if possible.
View 13 RepliesGolf V R32 :: 2008 - Humming Noise Stays Until Radio Completely Powers Off
Ok so this has been driving me nuts now for a couple days. When I listen to the reg radio, not noticeable. When i use xm, I switch channels and there is a very noticeable humming noise. Now the louder i turn the volume up the louder the humming gets. It makes the stations sound horrible. Not the same in FM! If i turn the car off the humming noise stays until the radio completely powers off. Everything is stock, stock NAV unit, stock speakers, no add on's. What am i missing before i go chasing gremlins. Some say its the amp, some says its the nav unit. How can i narrow down what it is?
View 3 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Humming Noise Starting At About 45 Mph - Brake Pedal Clink / Pop Noise
Two things I have just noticed on my '09 with aprox. 120,000 miles.
Starting at about 45 mph, I am getting a humming noise
Doesn't get louder as speed goes up either, stays the same 45-75 mph
Have Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 tires, did rotation, noise did not change location
Noise does go away gradually when slowing down to a stop (after I have reached 45)
I am deaf on my left side, this is hard to tell where it is coming from
Second is this really odd brake pedal clink / pop noise. When brake pedal is depressed fully to the floor, car ON or OFF, there is a clunk
See attached links to the noise.....
Brake pads / rotors are like new, plenty of life on them. I did have the inverter pump replaced per the recall (I read somewhere this could be related?)

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2004 F250 - Humming Noise From Engine At Idle
I have a 2004 ford f250 5.4 and ithe makes a Humming noise only at idle. I have checked the fan clutch. it seems to be good and does not spin freely. I was thinking maybe idle air control valve but the truck idles like normal and does not stall. the sound does go away when squeezing the air hose doing today the IAC but comes back as soon as you let off. can it still be the idle air control valve if idles fine and doesn't stall?
View 5 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Humming Noise Under The Hood
I loved my 2009 Prius until this weekend. I just turned over 31,000 miles and now a loud humming noise has developed under the hood while driving. It has not been cold here and this doesn't start until I reach around 24 mph. It remains while the gas engine is running or I'm coasting with the engine off. The humming is there in D or in N and there no sound while turning. When I am under 24 mph the noise is gone. I have set up an appointment with my Toyota dealer for this week, but wanted to know ahead of time if any other Prius owners have had this issue.
View 5 RepliesPhaeton :: 2004 W12 - Humming Noise In Front End
I have a humming noise coming from the front end of my 2004 W12. I only notice the noise at highway speeds and it appears to only be audible when I turn the wheel to the right. For example, when traveling on the highway and the road bends slightly to the right or when I move into the right lane, I hear a faint hum coming from the wheel(s).
I started hearing the hum a few days ago but dismissed it as a symptom of my Phaeton Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (POCD). While driving to and from DC last night on a night out with my wife, she commented on the presence of the hum as well.
I just had the LF wheel bearing replaced 2 weeks ago. Here are some possibilities I'v thought of:
RF wheel bearing
Low Power Steering Fuild
Other Steering Problems (leaking rack)
On a related note, where do you check the power steering fluid level? I can't seem to find the reservoir.

I have a 06 passat v6 with 34,5000 miles and with extended warranty,the car consumes about 14 mpg city and I noticed a humming noise coming from the back seat or bellow the trunk I am positive is the fuel pump, I will like to know if my poor mileage is related to the humming noise or should I take it to the dealer to have replace under warranty...

When I standing outside the car, it hears louder from under the bonnet.
Prius (2004-09) :: Transmission Noise / Humming That Follows The Speed Of Car
I've noticed about the last 4 weeks my 2008 touring Prius (85k miles) seems be running louder than it always used to. There is a sort of humming noise that follows the speed of the car, whether the engine is running or not, in neutral or drive. No warning indicators on the dash. No change in mileage observed. Seems slower to accelerate too, though I'm not entirely sure. I'll probably bring it in to get checked.
