Phaeton :: TPMS Fault Warning Message Coming On Repeatedly
OK, so I've been getting the "Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Fault" warning message repeatedly for some time now. I had the "G" code TPMS control module installed last week (under extended warranty) thinking that that should fix the fault. However, the fault continues.
Do this fault might be due to dead or dying batteries in the TPMS wheel units (not covered under extended warranty)? If not, what else could it be?
Phaeton :: 2003 - Gearbox Malfunction - OK Button Won't Work On Steering Wheel - TPMS System Not Working
I just bought a 2003 W12 Phaeton with 55.000 km on the clock and a few problems that were knocked off the price.
The car is absolutely fantastic, so much better than my previous 4.2 A8, although I bought with a gearbox problem that dropped the price down to USD 8.000.
The gearbox issue is that it jumps from 1st to 2nd gear with a 'clock' and much harder when the other way around (2nd to 1st). Sometimes so hard that it automatically engages the "safe mode" with the yellow PRNDS sign on the screen. Once on 2nd gear and up, it runs smoothly.
My plan is to take the gearbox off the car and bring it to an expert mechanic on ZF gearboxes, as the VW dealer quotes USD 9.000 for a new gearbox.
Re the other issues, I have plugged in the VCDS after changing both batteries (a standard 90 Ah on the right, a VARTA G14 95 Ah on the left) which show many faults that I can't really identify. The problem I have noticed is that one button on the steering (the OK push button on the right) does not work and when it is pushed, the cruise is deactivated (?). Looks like this module will need to be replaced (VCDS says 'control module defective').
The other issue I have noticed is that the TPMS system doesn't work. On the screen it shows clocks on each wheel... and nothing happens. I guess it's the batteries of the sensors, so I am thinking of replacing them. Would this solve the problem?
I just realized that I did my last VAG-COM check before clearing previous DTCs, so I will do that now and come back to post it.
Touareg :: TPMS Flat Tyre Message Will Come And Go
I've been having problem with my 04 V8's TPMS. Every few hours, i get a message of Flat Tyre and it will come and go.. took it into dealer third time today, left the car there for 4 hours and they call me back said "Everything is normal" ... They can't reproduce the problem, even thought I have show them the video.

Passat (B6) :: Disable TPMS Light And Message?
How can I get rid of that stupid light "tire pressure too low" how to disable both the light and the message on dash??
View 5 RepliesTouareg :: TPMS And Flat Tyre Warning Message
Recently replaced the front tire pressure monitor sensors from my '04 T V8. Since then the readings are fine with the only exception that I do get the "FLAT TYRE" warning a few minutes after I start my trip and for about 2-3 minutes until it goes off again. Shall I take it back to the dealer for reprogramming, is it something else I should look for...
View 1 RepliesLexus GS 2006-11 :: TPMS Sensor - Permanent Low Tire Warning Message
So I had a bent wheel and had to replace it and the new one did not have the TPMS sensor so now I get a permanent low tire warning message.
Is there anyway to disable this warning? Alternatively how costly is it to get a new TPMS sensor?
Phaeton :: TPMS Shows Zero Pressure
My TPMS display shows everything ok but with pressures = 0. VAG-COM shows everything is ok, with each sensor showing a non-zero pressure matching my own manual readings. The controller self-diagnosis didn't show any problems. I've rebooted the car a few times, to no effect. Should I initiate a learning cycle?
View 9 RepliesPhaeton :: TPMS Controller Has Failed
My dealer is telling me my TMPS Controller has failed. Aside from making sure the wiring harness is securely plugged into it, I'll be looking for a replacement. If the Audi TPMS controller (same part number as the Phaeton except that it starts with a 4 instead of a 3) is compatible?
View 6 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2008 - TPMS Light And Low Tire Pressure Message Popped On
This is the third time my TMPS light and "Low Tire Pressure" message have popped on... I have checked all (4) tires and they are still exactly where I had them inflated several weeks back when I went through this the last time. What the threshold pressure is to set the TMPS warning off? I do run about 10psi lower than the door sticker because the door sticker pressure was too much and wearing the center of my rear tires... I just find it odd and frustrating that there are no problems for a period of time, and then all of a sudden I have to go through and over-inflate the tires for a few miles for the TPMS sensors to reset and clear the light, and then drop back down to where I need them for proper tire wear and it seems OK for weeks, and now here we go again
View 2 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2013 F250 - TPMS Light Came On With A Low Tire Warning Message
I have a 2013 F250 and to day the TPMS light came on with a low tire warning message. A little back history, I put new tires on the truck when I bought it and they currently have 9200 miles on them. I didn't like having the tires at the 80psi the tire shop set them at so I lowered them to 62psi right away and haven't had any issues with the low pressure warning going off. Today I was backing into a parking spot and the warning light came on with a low tire message. I checked all the tires and they were right where they should be, but when I got home I added another 5psi to see what would happen and the light never went off after taking it on a 10 mile drive.
My question is, do I have a wheel sensor issue or is something messed up in the computer? I know the door sticker says 75psi front/80rear, but I've been running the tires at 62psi for 9200 miles without trouble so I can't think that the pressure is the culprit. Also, does the spare tire have a sensor in it? In the manual in one paragraph it seemed like it does, but in the next it said that the spare doesn't have one so the light will stay on to remind you to change the spare out.
Lexus LS 2007+ :: Navigation Not Working - Unable To Read Data Message Keeps On Popping Up
I just purchase this 07 LS460 96K miles less then 2 weeks ago, everything was working fine for the first few days then the navi screen keeps on popping up this message "Unable to read data, please consult dealer" I did many research on this forum and it seems like it's a bad HDD and I have also read it cost 15k to have it replace and such. I just bought the car and its out of factory warranty with the year and miles....
I see this unit on eBay from this totaled 2010 LS : [URL] ......
Phaeton :: Disable TPMS For SPARE TIRE Only?
I have a full size factory spare tire in the trunk and my TPMS is constantly saying the tire is flat or whatever, of course it's not, and of course I've set the correct tire pressure and of course I've recalibrated the system to no avail. I get an exclamation point on the screen for that tire only.
I want to disable monitoring of that tire ONLY. It does me no good since I have aftermarket rims/tires anyway so a flat means bad news for me right now. I don't need to have that spare monitored until I get an aftermarket 5 rim (which probably won't fit in that space anyway.
Phaeton :: 2004 - TPMS Sensor With No Label?
I have a problem with the TPMS of my '04 Phaeton.
Sensors have already been exchanged, still the car seems to have a problem with the tires of one axis. It displays a number in the middle reflecting the tire's pressure, but there is no "OK" or caution label in the boxes right and left to the car symbol.
This problem can also not be solved by (proper) calibration.
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Brake Malfunction Display Message With Various Lights
I own a GS450h and I've had a "Brake Malfunction" display message with various lights and messages. It tells me to Check ABS, VSC, and other items. The brake light and a couple next to it are also lit. I connected Techstream and these codes were found. I've had the wheel bearing changed, however that was a month before these codes popped up.

Phaeton :: TPMS Warning Light Has Been On Due To Dead Sensors
Ever since I bought my 04 V8, the TPMS warning light has been on due to dead sensors and a disconnected controller (G model controller), and I had just learned to live with the alert and the icon on the display for the time being. Last weekend I installed a 6 button cruise control switch and recoded per Michael's instructions. The switch works fine and everything was good. After a couple of drives with the new switch I noticed that the TPMS was not giving me the usual failure message or the fault icon anymore. If I hit the Vehicle button I still get the same fault message in the J523 screen but no warning in the cluster, and no warning upon startup. Ran a VCDS scan and the errors for the TPMS module not being there are still present as they always were.
View 4 RepliesPhaeton :: Vibration While Driving - TPMS Goes Off Every Time Start The Car
Car just hit 161,000km and all has been running well except for 1 nagging issue and 1 new one.First the nagging issue.
In January, I put on Continental DWS tires on the Phaeton and soon thereafter noticed a vibration in the car while driving. I could feel it in the steering wheel and could see the passenger headrest vibrating as well.
I saw some posts on these tires from other Phaeton owners saying that they also experienced some vibration, so that's what I thought it was.
At least that's what I thought until I went to the dealer for an oil change. I asked them to check wheel balancing and they told me at least 2 of the tires were way out of balance and they fixed it but there is still some vibration.
They did a test drive and said since the vibration is coming from the center of the car, it could be the driveshaft? They told me it's a problem with the Touregs but not with the Phaeton.
It's been killing an otherwise great ride for the last 6 months.
Also, I had my TPMS sensors replaced last year and it's been working great.
However last week, it went off, I clicked to reset and it reset with both rear tires and trunk showing OK. The front tires show a reading but instead of OK beside both, it's completely blank and the damn TPMS goes off every time I start the car.
Phaeton :: Got Defective Wheel Warning From TPMS System?
I got a "Defective Wheel" warning from my TPMS system today. I haven't had a chance to check the pressures today, but they look fine. I had gotten a couple intermittent "Flat Tyre" warnings over the last few weeks. Those would appear briefly then go away. This warning came on and stayed on. I doubt it is simply a pressure drop from cold weather, because I would get the "Check Pressures" warning when that happens. I had never seen either of these two warnings before (Flat Tyre or Defective Wheel). Should I assume that one of the sensors has failed in a wheel?
View 22 RepliesPhaeton :: New Battery But Getting TPMS With Dreaded Warning Tone?
I have just had my LHS battery replaced after ages messing about trying to get it done at a reasonable price and level of skill and the car feels like it is new. Once they had cleared out the erroneous fault codes, everything came back to life. For the first time, the central locking system works as it is supposed to, and the centre display in the binnacle no longer flashes. So everything's great - except the TPMS.
The dealer reported that it was working fine, and so it appeared, for about a mile, then the warning tone and message flashed up and I was back to square one. The same thing happened this morning. When I started the car, the TPMS was working, and displaying the pressures on the screen, and after about a mile, the dreaded warning tone and error message. If you think your battery is low, do get it replaced.
Passat (B6) :: 2007 - At Start Up Got Message Steering Column Lock Malfunction?
I've been having an intermittent problem starting our 2007 Passat 2.0T. Sometimes when I insert the key fob into its slot the car starts then stalls immediately. The steering wheel icon is displayed and the MFD says "Steering column lock malfunction". The car eventually starts after several attempts but I'm wondering what's causing the problem
My wife are both guilty of two things that I've read in the manual and I'm thinking that may have contributed or is causing the problem. We both insert the key and push it in to start the car in one motion. The book says to do it in three motions. We also do not depress the brake pedal when starting the car.
Needless to say we are not going to that anymore. If I may have done damage to the steering column and its associated parts?
