Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2013 F250 - TPMS Light Came On With A Low Tire Warning Message
I have a 2013 F250 and to day the TPMS light came on with a low tire warning message. A little back history, I put new tires on the truck when I bought it and they currently have 9200 miles on them. I didn't like having the tires at the 80psi the tire shop set them at so I lowered them to 62psi right away and haven't had any issues with the low pressure warning going off. Today I was backing into a parking spot and the warning light came on with a low tire message. I checked all the tires and they were right where they should be, but when I got home I added another 5psi to see what would happen and the light never went off after taking it on a 10 mile drive.
My question is, do I have a wheel sensor issue or is something messed up in the computer? I know the door sticker says 75psi front/80rear, but I've been running the tires at 62psi for 9200 miles without trouble so I can't think that the pressure is the culprit. Also, does the spare tire have a sensor in it? In the manual in one paragraph it seemed like it does, but in the next it said that the spare doesn't have one so the light will stay on to remind you to change the spare out.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Shutting Off Low Tire Pressure Message?
How to shut off the Low Tire Pressure message? My tires are at 65-70 pounds and the message still shows up at every start up.

Got a 'Tire Pressure Sensor Fault' message a few times on the way back from Florida. Tire pressures were all fine. Hate that it doesn't say which monitor has the problem. Anyway... it comes on, but after a few minutes goes back off. Saw it a total of three times over the course of 1,000 miles in two days. Is this the sensor failing and requiring replacement? Or is the system itself starting to fail? Would ESP cover this?

I recently installed takeoff 2017 factory 18" wheel/tire combo on my 2008 F250 to replace the 17" steelies. Didn't even know it had a TPMS system. Light never came on in 10 years of driving. After installing and airing up to 70psi, the TPMS warning light came on. Checked pressures, all good. I'm guessing that the new 18's have different sensors than the 2008 17's. 08 has the rim mounted green rectangular style. Don't know what the 2017's are as the tires were never taken off the rims. What do I have to do to get the new sensors to work?

2014 f250 - tires call for 75 fronts, 80 rears. I have been running 60 in all four corners for 6 of the 7 months I have owned the truck. Just turned 8000 miles and yesterday morning the low tire pressure light came on. Checked tires and all good. What might be happening?

So we had a subzero weather week last week and on one of the below zero days by low tire pressure light goes on - on my dash. I've checked all 4 tires and they are not low. Do I have a bad sensor? Or is the cold causing this?

Just got larger tires on my truck and tire pressure monitor light is on. How would I go about resetting this?

Am I the only one who thinks the tire pressure monitoring system is a silly feature? Is there any way to delete this and stop the light from coming up on the dash? I want to do new wheels and tires on my 2008 f250 and I don't want to deal with the tpms. Can it be tuned out from the computer?
View 14 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Got Low Tire Pressure Warning?
Went to leave for work this morning & got a "low tire pressure" warning...checked at work (isn't it always the last tire you check?), going to have to keep an eye on the left rear..was down to 45
with all the money we spend on these rigs, why can't put in a tpms system that would allow us to see WHICH tire is low?
Any aftermarket system that allows monitoring of INDIVIDUAL pressure? (ultimately, it'd be nice to get a 4 axle system that would "communicate" with the trucks (very basic) system, but also allow monitoring of my RV axles as well)
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Tire Pressure When Driving Around Unloaded
Ok, so I got this new Superduty that requires 80 psi in the rear tires and 70 psi in the front for 17" tires. What psi are you guys with similar vehicles using when driving around unloaded?

I just bought a 05 F-250 156" wheel base crew cab 6.0 with LT305/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. What will be the tire pressure. Manufacture label on truck says 75psi cold but the tire itself says 65psi max. I mostly drive without a load also.
View 2 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Proper Tire Pressure For F250 Truck?
What is the proper tire pressure for these trucks (F250)?
Sidewall says max is 80 PSI.
Door jam says 71 PSI.
This is coming from a guy who has traditionally driven passenger cars and trucks. I've never even gotten CLOSE to advertised max PSI ratings. 71 seems awful close to max PSI.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Tire Low Pressure Warning When Headlights Turned On
Every time I put the headlights on or just the running lights within 15 minutes it trips the tire low pressure warning, how can the 2 be connected? Turn the light switch off and anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes the warning low pressure light turns off. I know take it to Ford but I'm out of State presently and l'll just wait till I get back home next month.
View 9 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Tire Air Pressure Differential Front / Rear
Wondering what difference in tire pressure are you running front to rear. I have a 1999 CC LB 4x4 with a v10 with 180k on it and have always had to run lower on the rear with a empty bed. Most of the time I'm empty. If I don't the rear centers wear a lot quicker.
I ran KO's most of those miles and recently switch to Geolanders. The tires are 315x75x16. BTW the geolanders are doing great. A better rain tire, smoother and much more quiet. 6k on them so far and very little wear. Time will tell, I would get 55-60k out of the KO's.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Intermittent Tire Pressure Monitor System Faults
I have a 2010 F250 Super Duty with 18" factory wheels. I started having intermittent Tire Pressure Monitor Faults. My research lead me to believe that the seven year old sensors were probably running out of battery life. So... When I had new tires installed I also had new FoMoCo sensors installed and I purchased a FoMoCo tool (TPMS 19) to train the new sensors. My problem is that I cannot get the sensor training process to work. When I put the truck into the train mode and try to retrain the LF tire, nothing happens and eventfully the horn beeps twice and the dash reads that the training failed. Where is the receiver that the sensors communicate with? Could it be bad?
View 9 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2011 F350 - Tire Pressure Monitor Fault
I've looked at this 10 ways to Sunday, but the play on words have me questioning if it is the same thing. My truck says Tire Pressure Monitor Fault. I have a 2011 F350, if that makes a difference. I checked all my tires, they are about 80psi each, front and back. What could be the problem? Is it something to take to a Ford Dealer or something I can fix myself?
View 7 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2005 F350 - Recommended Cold Tire Pressure
I have a quick question regarding tire pressure. Where we work, we have a 2005 F350.
Stock tire pressure for stock tires 275/70R18 states 65 PSI for the front and 75 PSI for the rear.
The truck currently has 295/65R18 tires all around. They are some sort of Wrangler tire, not sure of exact model, but they are more of a all-terrain tire. The truck sticks to the road though.
What would be the recommended cold tire pressure with these? Can I stick with what the stock tires would be?
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2008 - Message Flashing - 4x4 Low?
I just traded in my trusty, never had a single issue 2008 Ford F150 with 53k miles for a 2008 Ford F350 with 112k miles. I figured the extra miles were okay, because it is a diesel. I purchased the truck to pull a 31’ 12k lbs when loaded toyhauler, and I have a 14K weight distribution hitch.
Just in case this makes a difference, here is some background information. I have a 2008 Ford F350 XLT 6.4L CrewCab Long Bed. Before purchasing it, I had Ford do a performance and safety inspection. Everything came back clear, so I bought it. The day after purchasing it, I changed all the fluids for peace of mind, ie. rear diff, transfer case, transmission, motor oil & filter, fuel filter, and radiator fluid.
Here is the problem. Occasionally, the 4x4 Low light will start blinking/flashing. Sometimes it will only flash once or twice and go off, other times it will flash for 15-20 seconds and then go off. There is no pattern to when it happens other than it seems to do it mostly when slowing down or breaking. It is very sporadic. I don’t drive very far for work, so I can go an entire week without seeing the light come on, but if I hit the highway for 30-45 minutes, the light will eventually turn on.
When it flashes, occasionally, I get an RPM increase…almost like it’s trying to engage natural or shift into 4x4 low at highway speeds…which causes me concerns. I took it to Ford and after 50 miles of driving it around, they could not get the 4x4 low light to come on. They said they pulled codes but there were none to pull. They reflashed the PCM and charged me $99 to not fix my problem.
I can shift into 4x4 high and 4x4 low (with the window rolled down, I can hear the shifting from 2wd to 4wd high and then to 4wd low and back to 2wd), so I don’t think it is a blown fuse or the control module. I removed and cleaned the wire connectors to the shift motor on the transfer case, and that didn’t fix it. I was thinking about replacing the rear diff abs speed sensor in hopes that will fix it. I think that maybe it’s a wiring issue, which I wouldn’t even know where to start.
I was getting 14 mpg before the reflash and after, I am now getting 8 mpg. Does this seem right? Or is there a learning period after a reflash before my mpg gets back to normal.
Also, the automatic 4x4 drive doesn't work. I don't think its holding a vaccum. I don't think it is related to the 4x4 low light coming on when I am doing normal driving. I can use the lockers to get 4x4 to work correctly. Infact, Ford is the one that told me the auto doesn't work.
Edit: I also noticed that if I flip ON any of the upfitter switches (ie AUX 1, AUX 2, AUX 3, AUX 4) the 4x4 low light will flash constantly until turned off. I currently don't use any of the switches for anything.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2011 F350 - Tire Pressure Monitor Fault Code
So I scored a real deal on a set of Michelin on same size 17" OEM wheels that were taken off a brand new 2017 F-250 at about 100 miles. I installed them on my F-350 and had no faults show up. The tires had been marked as to which corner they had come off of so I put them on the same corners of my truck.
After driving about 50 miles I got a "Tire Pressure Monitor Fault" code. I pulled out my owner's manual and followed the relearning procedure exactly but I get the two beeps and the fail retry message from the left front. I have tried three times and get the same result.
Looking for info if the 2017 F-250 sensors are compatible with the 2011 F-350? Have I overlooked something? I habitually manually check my tires anyway, is there a way to disable the TPMS? Is it time for the dreaded trip to the dealer?
