Passat (B7) :: When Opening And Closing Trunk The Motor Vibrates And Hinges Squeak

SE with Nav & Sunroof, when opening & closing Tilt the motor vibrates and the hinges squeak, after the dealer apparently lubricated the s/roof the squeaking etc is still happening..

The service manager says it's the rubber water seals closing or pulling apart! he says that after lubrication just 1car wash will enable the squeaking to return!!!!!

He also says that the trunk on my wife's 2012 Jetta should not fully pop open when using the keyfob, buy it popped fully open for 2 months - now it's just lifts a little..did VW reprogram via the internet? or whats the story...........

Passat (B5) :: How To Access Cabin Air Filter

So, I just dropped a bit more money that I wanted to for an oil change at a drive-through place. The tech offered to replace my dirt cabin air filter. I figured that I could do it myself for much less (or even just tap the dirt out of my current one). How to access the filter, and how easy or difficult the process is?

Passat (B5) :: Remove Rear Deck Lid To Access Monsoon Amp?

guides for jettas and b5's don't seem to work.

I've taken the three bolts out of the middle, the ones with the black clips on them, but don't know where to go from here. I'm assuming I'll also have to disconnect the brake light, correct?

It seemed there were screws or even glue maybe holding the deck in place close to the seatbacks - is this true? I didn't want to pull to hard on it in case it broke.

Is there any other way to access the amp without removing the deck lid? My rear right mid speaker isn't working so I'm trying to determine why

Lexus ES 2013+ :: Motor Or Fan Type Noise Coming From Trunk Area While Parked In Garage

I have a 2014 ES300H that I just purchased. After driving around for a while I parked it in the garage. After it had been sitting in the garage for around 6 hours, I hear a motor or fan type noise coming from the trunk area. It lasted for several minutes and then stopped. Is that normal and what the noise might be.

Passat (B6) :: Trunk Lid Not Closing

All of a sudden (2 wks ago), the trunk lid decides when it's going to close. I open it with the key or VW sign and then it won't close. It just pops back open, I thought something was stuck, checked out the trunk-there was nothing there. It took about 5 minutes and numerous trys then it finally stayed closed.

Used the trunk again, no problems. Then last night it did it again, it took about 10 mins. to get it closed. This time I had to sit on the trunk lid to close it, but the alarm wouldn't engage. I was scared it was going to pop open when I driving so I opened it again sat on it for a few minutes, then the trunk lid stayed closed and the alarm finally engaged.

Passat (B6) :: Trunk Opens By Its Own

My trunk opens by itself. Sometimes when I hit the door open key on the remote (I've tried the spare and it's the same). Sometimes seconds after opening doors. I've gone out to find my trunk wide open in the morning...twice in the past week! The latch works just fine. Seems to be a problem with electronics.

Passat (B6) :: Trunk Lid Not Rising On Its Own

When I open the trunk, the trunk lid doesn't seem to lift more than about an inch without me having to get involved. While it has been cold here, 40's and 50's, I don't believe that should have a tremendous effect on it. Should it be lifting all the way under these conditions? If so, what needs to be replaced?

I ask because there was a slow-speed chase on the freeways 'round LA with a guy driving a Bentley Flying Spur. When he finally stopped, 3+ hours later, he popped the trunk lid and it rose to attention like I thought my trunk lid should. An hour and a half later, it wasn't pretty for the car or driver.

Passat (B6) :: Trunk Will Not Open By Itself

So my Passat 2.0T 4dr trunk will not open up on it's own.

When I press the trunk release button inside the car or on my key fob, the trunk latch releases but it will not fling up on its own.

How would I fix this? Do I spray WD40 on the latch bar??

I have bumper to bumper warranty on the car....Do I just take it to the dealers or is this something I can fix? Will the stealership try to charge me for this work?

Passat (B5) :: Trunk No Longer Latches

I blew a fuse yesterday replacing wiring on my door, and my car wouldn't start, the alarm light blinked but never sounded, and my trunk no longer latches. i replaced the fuse, and all of my problems were fixed, minus the trunk latch. it's clearly electrical, it's not recognizing that it needs to latch closed when being shut. I'm about to blindly just double check for the possibility of another blown fuse, but after that, I'm stuck.

Passat (B7) :: 2013 - Locked Key Fob In The Trunk / Any Way To Get In?

Had to leave my Passat in front of Target after spending hours trying to figure out how to get in the trunk from the backseat. I couldn't believe I was dumb enough to place the key in the trunk while putting all the bags in there!

Now we were able to use one of those door airbag tools to fish a wire in and get the driver door open by pulling on the door handle. The door unlock switch did nothing when pressed. Once I got the door open I thought all I had to do was press the trunk release button, but it was not popping the trunk as it always did before.

I went into the backseat to try and pull the seats down, but cannot find anyway to fold down the back seats. My friend said you can only release the latch from inside the trunk, but there has to be a way. I only have the one key and I'm sure it will cost an arm and a leg to get a new one made. How to get those back seats down?

Passat (B6) :: MFD Says Trunk Is Open But In Actual It Is Not

For the past couple of weeks I have been having some issues with my trunk. The MFD would say that the trunk is open when indeed it is not. With that happening the car will lock the doors but not arm with an audible beep and the door lock lights will flicker at the same time so would the trunk display on the MFD.

I found a fix by locking the trunk down with the valet key on the driver door by the trunk/gas buttons, that stopped the trunk display from lighting up and the car was no able to arm the alarm properly.

Now within 3 days the issue has come back up even with the trunk locked with the valet key. In order to get the car to arm properly I have to unlock the Trunk Switch , open the trunk, re close trunk and then re lock the trunk switch with the valet key.
