Passat (B6) :: 2006 - Speedometer 3 Mph Off?
Since I've had a GPS, I have noticed that my speedometer on my '06 Passat is 3mph off. Is a GPS something I can take to the dealer to have my speeds fixed? I always wondered why people seemed to blow by me.

My Speedometer is off by about 4 mph.
When I am going 70 it will show 74.
Is this adjustable w/ VAG COM or any other method?
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Speedometer Needle Won't Pass 40 Mph

Is there a way with VCDS to adjust the speedometer reading to match my GPS? The reason I am asking is that I have the wrong winter tire size on my car (205-55-R16) and the difference is 15km/hr more the I really drive.
View 6 RepliesPassat (B6) :: 2008 - Speedometer Reading High About 4 Mph
Just purchased a 2008 2.0T Passat wagon, lux version. I believe my speedometer may be reading high by about 4 mph. I seem not to be keeping up with most of the traffic (assuming they are driving close to the posted speed limit). Not sure how to really check this out, but assuming the mile markers on the interstate are accurately spaced one mile apart, at 60 mph it should take me 60 seconds to cover the distance and at 70 mph it should take me 50 seconds to cover the distance. If my thinking is correct and upon doing that I find that it takes me about 66 seconds to cover the one mile at an indicated 70 mph on my speedometer
.
Is my thinking correct and/or is there another way to check? Have never been able to find a shop that has calibration equipment so I just resort to this method.

View 2 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: 2009 - Speedometer No Longer Works
My speedometer no longer works. A mechanic had the dash out but said I would need a new instrument cluster. However, as I told him, it started failing whenever it rained. Once the car dried out, the speedometer would work again. For awhile anyway but now it's not working at all. I'm thinking there's a sending unit maybe on the transmission that's faulty?

View 2 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: V4 Speedometer And Odometer Stopped Working
I bought a 2006 Sonata V4 with 106k miles on it 2 days ago from a dealer and everything worked fine. When I got out of school yesterday the speedometer would stay at 0 and the fuel gauge has been fluctuating a bit. Also the odometer is no longer working. Shortly after this the ECS and ABS lights came on. I've read that this could be the speedo sensor but not sure.
View 7 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2006 Speedometer / Fuel Display Goes Out
Started about a month ago, no speedometer or fuel gauge (the display up on the dash). So, somewhere I found out about unplugging the 12v battery and that worked...for a while! After a few times doing that, I read somewhere that it is a sign that the 12v battery is going. So, I took it in to the local auto parts store, they tested it and said it was good.
I bought one anyhow since it was about 3-1/2 years old. That worked for about 2 weeks, but now it's back! I've unplugged the battery and again it has ( temporarily ) fixed this issue. The other thing that happens is that it is difficult to turn off and requires you to hold the power button for an extended period of time. I guess part of my problem is I am not sure what to call that display and my searches are coming up with all sorts of things. I have about 160,000 and have had no problems.
Passat (B5) :: Speedometer Usually Stay At Zero Or Will Jump Occasionally When Driving
My speedometer is stopped working... I am driving and it will usually stay at zero, but it will jump time to time for example..
I took a video to explain it better with great detail, as you can see I am doing like 50mph, but my speedometer says other wise.

Passat (B7) :: Cruise Control Setting Mismatch With Speedometer
Noticed a mismatch of 3-4kms between Cruise setting and speedometer? Example, when i set my cruise to 100km/h my speedometer needle actually indicates 103km/h. I took it to the dealer and they said it is normal because the cruise and speedo get their speed signals from different sources.
View 2 RepliesFord - Escape :: 2006 - Odometer And Speedometer Aren't Working
I clearly have some kind of electrical issue. The odometer and speedometer are no longer visible, the digital display on the clock/radio is barely visible (brightness varies day to day) and the abs light is always on. Now the check engine light is always on. I have to be somewhere around 200,000 miles and other than this the car has been a champ! I had Auto Zone check fuses and run a scan but they couldn't detect the problem. One suggestion I was given was input/output sensors.
View 3 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: 2008 - Speedometer / Odometer Doesn't Work
I have a 2008 Accent two door hatchback. The speedometer started jumping and then just quit along with the odometer. The odometer displays the last mileage but doesn't increase. I replaced the speedometer sensor in the side of the transmission and found two of the pins on the connector socket going to that sensor were burnt. I have now replaced the three connector, cable and it still doesn't work. The Hyundai part number for the HMC Extension cable is 43893-23011. So, I have a new cable and new sensor. What next?
View 70 RepliesChrysler - Pacifica :: 2006 - Engine Rev Up And Speedometer Will Jump As High As 30 Mph
I drive a 2006 Pacifica and lately the engine has been causing me some grief. When I am in park, neutral, or in gear but stopped, the engine will sometimes rev up and my speedometer will jump accordingly sometimes as high as 30 mph. My first thought was that it might be a transmission issue, but I'm not a car mechanic so I don't know much along the lines of what to check or do. The model is an automatic 3.5L

I have a 2006 Prius with 285,000 miles on it, and I have NEVER had any problems with it, and I was VERY satisfied. Today when I woke up, I went to turn on my Prius to warm it up before we left for Christmas, and I noticed that the Speedometer, Gas Gauge, and Instrument panel did not light up. The Blinkers work, MFD works, and the Check engine light pops on and then off after I start the car. Even when my lights are on, the green light in the panel doesn't illuminate.

View 3 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2006 F250 - Speedometer Reading Fast
Got a weird one today. Everything was fine all day. Got the old girl smogged this afternoon and made one more quick stop. Got back on the freeway and up to speed and looked down. Speedo said I was 90? Yeah right. I was going with the flow.
So I plugged in my bluetooth ALDL dongle and fired up OBD Link. Well, OBD Link showed normal and accurate speeds. As did a second app on my phone for giving speed. So my VSS must be working correctly.
So my speedo is showing about 25 over actual. When the ignition if off the needle sits between 20 and 25. so did my speedo take a dump? Is there anything else I might try to see if it auto-calibrates?
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2006 F250 Speedometer Malfunction - Stuck On The Deceleration
On my 2006 F-250 truck, the speedometer is acting funky. It's like it stuck on the deceleration and now at a complete stop or idle it shows a speed of anywhere from 40-60 mph. It does change and go up and down, as I drive but it's now just off by 30-60 mph. Is this an electronic setting/calibration that one can do?
