Ford Brakes/Suspension :: Vibration / Rattle After Letting Foot Off Gas Pedal / Deceleration
If I am going over 60MPH and let off the gas pedal (decelerate, no brakes) I get a bad rattle/vibration that shakes mainly the dash front. only happens when I let off gas pedal. As long as I am giving gas the Bronco runs smooth, no vibration/rattle at all.
I just changed..Front Rear Brakes, Repak Front Wheel Bearings. New Front Rear Shock (deutch Tech), new track bar poly bushings, greased all joints axles, changed rear diff fluid (bottle of transX diff additive 85W-90 gear oil). It did the same thing before all this too and it is intermittent (but more so than not). Sometimes it is really violent (feels like the whole truck is going too shake loose, other times it is fine.
I am going on a long trip Thursday and this is bothering me. Cant pin point problem. One note i towed a boat for the first time last sunday and the problem went away, i.e., more wait in rear? Alignment, tires, driveshaft? I really dont have time to do anything except minor adjustments before I leave.
Passat (B6) :: Vibration In Brake Pedal At High Speed
At high speeds 70mph + there is a vibration with my 2006 Passat. You can definitely feel it at your feet, and slighty at the body. It is snowy and cold up here, I tried a few different roads, no change.
View 13 RepliesPassat (B7) :: Pedal Feels Almost Loose When Applying The Brakes
2014 Passat... I've got a little over 2,000 miles on mine now and I really do like the car. However, one thing that is really bothersome to me is----the brakes.
I'm not sure if it is specific to my car or to the passat in general. Here's the issue:
When applying the brakes, the pedal feels almost loose, as though the is no pressure on it, but once you push the pedal down far enough the brakes come on heavy, hard and fast. It's like turning on a light switch.
I am wondering if this is an adjustment that I can have done at the dealer to put more feel into the brakes or if this is just something that we all have to live with, of if maybe there could be something wrong with the brakes on my car.
Passat (B6) :: Vibration In Pedal And Engine While Stopped With Brake Pushed
Is it normal on the 2.0T that when you are driving and stop at a red light to get vibration that you can feel in the car and hear in the motor? As soon as you let off the break it stops and the engine stops the noise. I don't drive the car enough really (my wifes) to know if it is normal or if this just started. It is an 07 and just turned 12k on the weekend trip. Also, having a problem on Sat radio with there being a high pitch hum in the back ground? [IMG] [URL] ...

This morning my brakes seized up on me on the freeway. I noticed it when I pressed the brake pedal and I it would barely go down. Then, I could smell the brakes. I pulled over and there was a strong smell from the brakes and I couldn't press the brake peddle down any. I waited a while and let the brakes cool off and then they were fine. I got the rear brakes replaced at the dealership earlier this year.

I got a 2002 passat 1.8t in the shop fixin some bodywork on it. When its in the cold the brake pedal gets rock hard and if you step on it the brake lights come on and stay on, when it stays in the shop its fine.
Read online about an issue with water getting in the brake booster and freezing. found nothing in the search...
Passat (B7) :: 2014 - Engine Noise / Vibration In Clutch Pedal When Depressed?
I have a 2014 Passat TDI with a 6 speed manual. When the clutch pedal is depressed between upshifts, there is an audible groaning sound and a vibration in the clutch pedal. The dealer replaced the throwout bearing but the problem persisted. They then replaced the entire transmission and the noise/vibration is still there. The noise follows engine RPM. Is this normal for the TDI powertrain? The dealer had never encountered the noise but they did find another car on the lot with the same noise.
View 2 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Vibration Coming From Front Of The Engine After Brakes Fixed
Yesterday, I went to pick my car up from getting an oil change (full synthetic, Mobil 1 5w-30) and an estimate on brakes. turned out to not be quite as much as i had anticipated. while i was in making an appointment for the brake job, my mechanic and i were joking about how if it's not one thing, its another on VW's. And how the car will be in great shape after i get the brakes fixed/replaced.
So i go outside to drive home. When i start the car, there is this odd squeaking/vibration sound coming from the front of the engine. I immediately shut it down and go get the mechanic. after 30 minutes of muddling over it, we determine that it cannot be determined from just looking at it. so they're going to check it out on wednesday when it goes in for brakes.
A little more info, it is definitely something to do with the serpentine belt, because the sound is definately coming from the drivers side front of the engine. If you listen near the timing belt cover there is no sound so i'm pretty sure its not that. and the car drives fine, besides the weird noises that make it sound like a diesel at idle.
its a 2002 1.8t 5 speed wagon, 143,000 miles. I know 5w-30 mobil 1 is not 502 certified.
Passat - Volkswagen :: 2002 - Brakes Making Crunching Sound When Press The Pedal Down
I know that VW's are known for funky problems. Sometimes when it has recently rained heavily, the brakes will make a crunching sound when I press the pedal down, and there is also increased pressure, as if there is water stuck somewhere. It will drive fine for a few minutes and then will start shuddering, spewing exhaust, and nearly stalling. The engine light will often flash, and for this reason I brought it into my mechanic who is a VW specialist. It was first diagnosed as a faulty engine coil, and that was replaced. The problem came back repeatedly and he said I would have to wait until it "got worse" for him to figure it out. I've been riding it out since then, and once I get to my destination and the car sits for a little bit (usually 4+ hours), it runs fine again. The rainy season has started so I'm a little worried about this happening on a regular basis. This has never happened in dry weather.
View 12 RepliesFord Brakes/Suspension :: After Pressing Pedal Resistance Became Really Soft And Brakes Very Sensitive
I have a 2004 Ford Expedition and today on the freeway I had to step on the brakes pretty hard to avoid an accident. After pressing, the pedal resistance became really soft and the brakes worked, but were very sensitive (a lot of pedal movement to brake). I had this happen some time ago and I did a complete system flush and no problems since then, but it has to do with how hard I hit the brakes. What could be wrong????? BTW - I never noticed the anti-lock brake pedal pulse at all during this event. I'm not even sure it is working at this point. No dash lights to indicate an error of any sort.
View 3 RepliesFord Brakes/Suspension :: 1997 F250 - Hard Pedal / No Brakes Intermittently
I have a 97 F250 that is having reoccurring brake issues, It has an intermittent hard pedal with little to no brakes when it occurs. It will stop but you are standing on the pedal with both feet. I have replaced the booster, master cylinder, and the vacuum pump in the past trying to isolate the issue and still had the problem. On this year model the abs ids only on the rear correct???? if it is shouldn't it only be affecting the rear brakes? Since this truck has a dual reservoir MC the front should still work?

If this was my car or older truck I would know what the deal was. First hill I came down in my recently bought 2003 F250 the pedal pulsed a bit as I tried to slow down...is this the way ABS brakes behave? Never had them on a truck before...she stopped ok but don't know if they are warped or normal ...I'll pull wheels later (not a daily driver)...

View 8 RepliesGolf/GTI VII :: Vibration In Gas Pedal In Addition To The Hum Around 45 Mph
So as careful as I tried to be - i'm merging from I287 onto I95 north - i drilled a freaking crater the size of texas with my front right tire. I pulled over shortly after to inspect the tire and rim - i did not see any visible damage (no tire bubble or loss of air pressure and the rim looked visibly ok).
As I got back on the highway - i noticed a low on and off hum - first around 45mph then it would go away until i hit 65mph to 75mph. Above and below that speed there is no on and off hum - above that speed there is no on and off hum either. It's hard to describe the precise noise but the hum was more drawn out then short on and off bursts i would expect from a wheel turning that fast - it was much longer on and off in duration.
I feel no vibration in the steering - I drove the car on a straight - relatively unpitched road to see if the alignment was screwed and noticed no shaking or pulling.
Inspected the tire 2 days later - still no bubble but the and and off hum between 65mph and 75mph is still there.
I've bent a rim once before - and the car shook from the steering wheel - i'm not getting that this time though i do feel some vibration in the gas pedal in addition to the hum between that speed range.
Camry :: 02 V6 Brakes Pedal Softness
I've had this problem ever since the car was new but it's starting to get MUCH worse The brake pedal travels a lot before it seems to engage I just got an oil change done at the dealership who also flushed the trans fluid and told me my rear brakes had 0mm left
I came home and replaced the brakes, they had Nothing left Also replaced the rotors while I was at it, put everything together and the pedal is still soft Took it back to a dealership and they said it's normal and that a brake flush / bleed wouldn't do anything Pads were replaced with Duralast semi - metallic and rotors were Duralast
Now a couple things I noticed when I replaced the brakes:
1 - The slide pins were seized I cleaned them with brake cleaner, lubed them and they seem to slide now Rubber seals also seem fine Good enough or replace the caliper mount / pins?
2 - The brake pads sit on the caliper in this metal groove All other cars I've worked on, the pads can slightly slide These pads are jammed in place on these pins I cleaned them with brake cleaner, took a wire brush to them until they looked new, lubed them and pads slide with force but for the most part are jammed in place
Avalon :: Brakes Pedal Doesn't Go Down As Far
I just got my 2014 Avalon XLE Premium and the brakes seem a little strange to me. When I first press down on the brake pedal the pedal goes down and the brakes seem a bit light, when I let up on the pedal and then push right back down the pedal doesn't go down as far and the brakes are firmer.
View 2 RepliesCamry :: Brake Pulsation / Vibration On Pedal
My car is a 2004 Toyota Camry LE 2.4L. I've been having a brake pulsation problem with my car for few months. I feel the vibration on the pedal and also on the steering wheel when I brake at high speeds. And also I feel like the pedal goes too low and not responsive enough.
So I took the car to a local shop 3 days ago and they told me that the front rotors are bad and have to be replaced. They installed new Wagner front brake rotors and pads. But still I get the same problems described above. Today I drove on the highway and got the same vibration both on pedal and steering when I apply brakes.
Golf VI R :: Vibration In Both Clutch And Brake Pedal
This morning I could feel vibration in both the clutch pedal and the brake pedal under normal acceleration. This just happened and is significant enough to make me feel something is wrong. Car has about 5700 miles on it. To be honest, I have never liked this transmission and have zero confidence in it. It feels completely weak, loose, soft, and lacks any feedback except unbelievably notchy shifting. Maybe it's my DieselGeek. I've already had to tighten/adjust it twice in ~2000 miles.
I am not resting my foot on the pedals during acceleration. I can feel the vibration as I go to engage the clutch/apply brakes.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Rumbling / Vibration In Gas Pedal
So recently I have been feeling this weird rumbling/vibration in my gas pedal when I really gun it. Whats weird is i feel it mostly in first and second. But i feel it only on full throttle and under boost. I am assuming it has something to do with suspension. But whats weird is it happened after i installed my dp. So would this just be a coincidence or something else? I do know for a fact that I need new strut mounts and bearings, but I've been reading up on them, and the symptoms aren't really similar.
