Passat (B5) :: 1998 - Cruise Control Not Working
I just purchased my 98 1.8t manual and for the most part it was a steal. Only 108k miles. Everything is strong just a few minor things. Right now I want to get my cruise control working. Is there a light in the dash that goes on? What are the fuses related to it? Nothing happens when I turn it on or hold the button to set it. what should I look for?

I have a 98 Jeep and the cruise control is not working. The light does not come on when I hit the switch either.
I'm reading that it could be the brake switch, the on/off switch or maybe the clockspring. Is there somewhere I can get the voltages that should be at these switches or maybe the ohms for them before I go buy new ones?
I'm driving to Colorado for a week of 4 wheeling and it would be nice to have the cruise control working!

today my 98 ranger 4.0 would love to have cruise control once again .
I have checked the obvious , fuses connectors etc. I know on my f250 they had an issue with the pressure sensor mounted on the brake master cylinder leaking , I did check that and not leaking yet . I can't even get the system to turn on. So my question to to the forum , is there a common issue with ranger cruise control that I am unaware of ?

My Cruise control hasn't been working for a while now when i first bought the car it would work when it wanted to... sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't or even sometimes it would work then all of a sudden while its in cruise it would just stop working
Now I want to fix this problem and get it to work again what should i start to look for, what could be some common stuff that I should look for I heard the cruise control is a PITA to fix once they stop working. I don't know much about the cruise control so where i should start and what I should look for first...

I have a 99 1.8t my cruise control is not working. when i try to turn it on there's no light saying cruise on my dash. i let go of the gas to see if the cruise is working but nothing happens. what could be the reason? could it be one of the fuses?

The cruise control on my 2002 Chevy 1/2 ton Silverado doesn't work. Went to boneyard and bought a module but it didn't fix my issue. Borrowed a multimeter and tested the cruise control module plugin. The only pin that came up with a incorrect reading was the first brake test. It's suppose to have 12 volts with brake pedal up but showed about 30, so I changed the brake light switch. Still no cruise control.
Since I have a high reading on the brake pin, do you think I have a wire issue there or would my problem be in the multi switch wires by the steering wheel?
Avalon 2005-12 :: Cruise Control Working Intermittently For A While
The cruise control on my '05 Avalon Limited was working intermittently for a while. I'd hit the button to turn it on and nothing. Then a few miles down the road, I'd hit it again and it would work just fine. Today I tried to turn it on and nothing. Three different trips today and no luck.

I recently bought a 1997 Park Avenue and have a couple of repair questions.1) The car is in need of struts/shocks. The rear has air shocks. Before I purchase new air shocks, how do I test the compressor to make sure there is no problem? If the compressor is bad, is it possible to install conversion shocks and do away with the compressor/ air shocks?2) The previous owner says the cruise control does not work. On rare occasions it will work for a brief time during the winter. What things can I check out? Someone suggested checking the brake light switch.

I was recently on a road trip, using my cruise control extensively (like usual) when it just quit working. I tried to reset to a lower speed, but it would rev itself back up to the original speed. I turned off the cruise control, drove a mile or so and turned it back on. The cruise dash light came on, but the right control buttons no longer worked. No check engine light. It's never worked since.
My local tire shop checked codes and found the tcm not communicating with the mod (cruise module?). I'm looking to take it to the dealer, but I'd like to be better informed with what I may be dealing with before I get there.
