Montana :: 2006 SV6 Clunking When Start To Move Forward Or Reverse
I have an 06 Montana sv6 that clunks when I start to move forward or reverse. Not when I put it in gear but as I start to move. It also does it when I take off from a stop sign. It doesn't make any noise while driving or turning though.

My reverse lights aren't working. I assume the trunk cable assembly is fine, as all my trunk opening and latching works and there is no viable damage to the cable. I figured the bulbs were burned out but I pulled the trunk liner today and at least one of the bulbs looks intact. I don't see any fuse listed for reverse lights.

Checked the bulbs, checked the connection....What is going on here. Is there a switch in the transmission or some crap that must have gone bad?
In good news. I have my rear fogs wired so that both sides work. ...the reverse lights stopped working like a week ago. So a crap rear fog install is not to blame.
Prius (Gen 2) :: 2004 - Brake And Reverse Lights Not Working
I have a 2004 Prius, with both the brake and reverse lights not working (right & left). Already replaced all bulbs and checked fuse...No luck.

I have a 2008 Camry 4 LE. My turn blinkers and reverse lights have stopped working and i'm 90% its a bad relay. I have checked all fuses and they are good. I just have a problem locating the relay. I think i saw it right above the fuse box under the dash in the driver side but i'm not 100% sure.
View 11 RepliesSanta Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2010 - Reverse Lights Are Not Working
I recently noticed that both reverse lights on my wife's 2010 Santa Fe are dead.
It's odd that both bulbs would burn out at the same time. So I checked them and they're both good. The bulbs are not burnt out.
What should I check next?
I looked up the fuses in the owner manual, checked those, and everything looks good there. There is a relay as well. I swapped that with a similar relay in the fuse box, but that made no difference either.
I suspect it's the reverse switch on the transmission. Ours is a manual transmission. How to locate and access that reverse switch?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Reverse Lights Not Working
My reverse lights do not work and it is not due to the bulbs. Guy at autozone said it is the neutral safety switch. Does this sound correct? And I have done work on my truck myself, is this a difficult fix?

I have checked the fuse number 38 and it's fine, and I've also checked the bulbs and they look good. Where else do I look to check for problems with my reverse lights not working? I just had my transmission rebuilt, and wondering if a sensor or something went bad?
View 1 RepliesFord F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Reverse Lights Not Working
I have an automatic 5.4L (L code) 2000 Ford F-150 and I am having problems with the reverse lights not working when I place the transmission in reverse. Fuse #5 in the passenger compartment fuse panel is good and both reverse lamps are good as well. I have also metered the LB/PK input wire at DTR sensor and it is reading 12 volts when the ignition is in the on position. I have also the metered the BK/PK wire output wire at the DTR and this wire also reads 12 volts when I place the transmission in reverse. I have checked continuity from the BK/PK wire at DTR to the BK/PK wire at the reverse lamp socket and I do not have continuity. I then ran a fused jumper wire from the BK/PK wire directly to the BK/PK wire at the reverse lamp socket and the lamps will light up when I place the transmission in reverse and will also turn off when the transmission is placed back in park. So it seems that the DTR is not defective. I'm not sure what else to check. Obviously the BK/PK circuit is open at some point between the DTR and the reverse lamp socket, but I'm wondering if there is something else that I need to check. The vehicle is also equipped with a factory trailer tow package

I (or rather my dad) have a 2007 avalon limited. I'm trying to install a backup camera for him. I don't know if it's something I did now but I see the outer reverse lights (on the car body, rather than trunk lid) don't come on as they should. Also any tips to install the video interface and/or camera are extremely welcome - it can never be too basic!

View 1 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Back-up Lights Not Working / Faint Glow From Left Side When In Reverse
I've got an '04 Passat and I'm having trouble with the back-up lights. The fuse was blown (which I replaced), and I just finished swapping out the bulbs. Only one of the bulbs looked burned out.
The lights are still not working, although I get a very faint glow from the left side when in reverse. I'm really puzzled that I'd get a faint light from just one side.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: E350 - Backup / Reverse Lights Not Working
1999 E-350 Super Duty (figured the problem would be the same for van/truck)
Problem: Backup lights don't turn on when in reverse.
Diagnosis: Changed the fused (because it was bad) but didn't fix it. The bulbs are both good. Brake lights, turn signals all work. I understand the backup lights are connected to the Neutral Sensor Switch. To test to see if the NSS was working, I put the van in Reverse and cranked... Van didn't crank (and likewise for D, 1-3).
So I guess the Neutral Sensor Switch works. The fuse works. The bulbs are good. Haynes doesn't have much as far as troubleshooting for this issue. What should I look at from here?
Pontiac - Montana :: 2004 - Temperature Gauge Not Working Properly?
I have a 2004 Pontiac Montana with about 107500 kms on it (VIN: 1GMDX03E24D183870) and the coolant temperature gauge is not working properly. Sometimes when I start my van, the temp gauge is pinned at MAX temp and stays there the whole trip...other times it's pinned at MIN temp...and other times it seems to work OK.
When it's pinned at MAX temp, I check the actual temp that the on-board computer is seeing, by using my OBDII scan tool...and I get about 87 degrees C when I'm halfway into my trip (i.e. - when the van is at operating temp), which seems OK. All the other analog gauges are working perfectly.
I read a lot about the issues with "connector C305" on the Internet on the Montana vans...could this be the problem?
Montana :: Bosch 125 Amp Alternator - Lights Dim At Idle But Brighten On Acceleration
I just installed a new Bosch 125 Amp alternator about a week ago.
Puts out 13.9 to 14.0 at the battery with everything running at idle. When you rev the engine the head lights brighten for a moment then settle down to what might be considered normal. Battery holds at 12.6 volts over night and cranks no problem.
Only reason I replaced the alternator is because it is original and has traveled 280,000 kms already. Bearings were getting a little rough, although it seemed to be charging almost the same as the new one. (13.6 versus 14.0 for the new one).
Battery is 8 years old and has a 108 month 'life' to it, so should be replaced before winter sets in.
Could there be a problem with that screw on the back of the alternator referenced in a few posts, or is it possible that the battery is trying to say, 'I'm getting tired!'
Trans Sport :: 1998 Montana Speedometer Not Working / Connector Block?
I got a 1998 Trans Sport Montana that has a dead speedometer. The computer knows how fast the car is going because I've seen the live data. I've also changed out the cluster and the problem is still there. I have a schematic of the wire that goes from the ecm to the instrument cluster, but it goes through an accessory connector block. Where this connector block is?
